I love my Ryobi 40V HP self propelled battery mower. Have a smallish lawn and the old gas mower was a but much to maintain, mess with gas, etc. This one is quick and easy and goes with the rest of my garage full of Ryobi lawn and woodworking tools. Keep to one battery system is so much easier.
Just a note when this video was made the prices were as he says. They have since gone up in price. But still worth every cent. Currently as of today may, 2023 $799 and the self propelled is $899. Just thought I would add this for your listeners. They should cut up to 750m square with no problems in power mode. ❤
I have a similar one in UK not Ryobi. Had it 3 years both batteries still great. As a wheelchair user these styles are light, you can use with 1 hand as the other hand driving wheelchair. Reachable bag on the top to empty from wheelchair. Luckily I can reach most of mine from hardstanding. Sometimes the middle has to be left,( it would take longer to get wet mud off wheelchair wheels that to go back another day to finish it off) 🤣😂🤣
@@turfandtools We are careful, but it never stops growing and our dogs are tiny and can't wee if it gets too long. Our injuries occur usually trying to clear snow so we rest Autumn ready for winter. Luckily we don't get much in UK. Keep blessing people. X
I just bought the self propelled version of this after having the 18v ozito for 5 years, this thi g is a weapon, and has no trouble doing my 200sqm even when I let it get over 20cm long
Thanks for sharing the video Tim. Looking forward to seeing how long a single battery at full power will last. Curious what the self propelled mower would do for battery life.
Looks a bit excessive for a lawn like that but for a bit bigger lawn looks not bad. For that size yard would find the 50 dollar used mower from a garage sale that still worked. With battery tools though having a line of stuff that's good that all uses the same batteries is nice so everything is interchangeable.
The key to good run time and equipment upkeep with E mowers is a sharp blade and blow it off every time. While this might be the same for ICE mowers, I feel like electronic components just don't keep the output if you tax them constantly and do not keep airflow.
Interesting... seems nice. I just bought myself a new model (can hardly find it on sale anywhere) and it goes by "RY36LMXP40A-140". I couldn't test it out yet, because my the time the big light in the sky went out the battery was still charging. I think it's just a single batter redesign of this model though, and with a 40cm blade of a new design with I reckon more lift going by model RAC404 (vs RAC450 on yours), and seeing the nice cut I am hopeful for some good results.
I have owned this model Ryobi mower for the last 14 months. Great mower and it mulches really well (80% of the time I use it in mulch). Lots of power and good run time. The only issue that I have had with it, is that the 3 x screws that hold the handle to the base, need tightening every 4 to 5 mows. Very frustrating and it really is a bit of a design flaw. Not a deal breaker for me, but still annoying and could be a deal breaker for you.
How does it compare to a petrol mower? We had a look at this mower at bunnings today And we checked stilts battery mower as well it's a lot dearer and we checked Honda petrol mower as well..so which would you recommend?

Yeah I think I’ll do an update video soon. It’s a great mower for average yards. Like all battery mowers, they have their limitations in how low they go so if you like to do a height reset you’ll need something else
It can use 1 or 2 batteries to power its 36V motor. By utilising SMART BOOST technology, the mower can draw on the power of 1 or both batteries at the same time to tackle longer and thicker grass. You also get extended runtimes, too, great if you have large lawn. (That’s from their website. )
We are giving away a $2000 Lawn mower! ua-cam.com/video/-0XSGLW8cGk/v-deo.html

Single Battery or two? (for 750sqm)

Probably the best battery powered mower on the market right now at the 46cm range.
Nice cut and sounds nice too. thanks for sharing.

I’m liking what I see! I think I better start talking to Father Christmas😂
Good video !
Wondering how they go , with the cleaning of the mower side of things , as in using a hose to clean them ?
Excellent review. I have a buffalo derivative so this would be suitable. Obviously don’t need a super low cut, I like the spongy feel 😂
Looks great for DIY.
Agree 🙌

✨️Awesome, looking at get a e mower, thanks for the share✨️
Hi. Just wondering if a full review was done? We’re looking at buying the 51cm one atm.
Funny you ask, I took it out yesterday for a spin and will have a real time video of it doing a thick yard out in a couple of days
Nice cut 😊

Wonder how the machine would handle mowing at non slow motion.
How does this perform as a mulcher, without using the catcher?

Welcome! Great to have you onboard!
Looks like a good mower
Hey mate. Do you have more of an opinion on this mower. I am looking at buying one and would like to know how it goes.
Cheers mate

Where can I find your full review? I can’t see it…
was hoping to see that as well.
@@JeremyMcClelland I bought the 36v self propelled model and rate it highly. I have a grass type which has a very thick bottom layer.
Nice work. Where can I get one of those turf and tools shirts?
I need to sort some shirts out for both channels. Stay tuned
Great. I look forward to it
I like it!
God Bless you
Two batteries doesn't give you more power, you use the red key to swap between batteries

@@turfandtools my apologies, you are absolutely correct
how does it go on 10mm couch ?
Who mows 10mm with a rotary? 🤣
@@turfandtools poor blokes ;)
I got that mower
Like it?
@@turfandtools loving it, it doesn't go super low, but was low enough to do my reno on my cooch this year
I used an ozito battery mower the other day and it felt and sounded like I was vacuuming the lawn 🤣
Sound like a jet engine.
