Believe it or a not, a band I used to hate when I was a dumb kid was Slipknot. I thought it was some kind of juggalo/ICP type of band. Now they're half of what I listen to on a daily basis. I worship the ground they walk on.
The story about waiting for Headbangers Ball and Slayer, etc and then the first video shown is Blind Melon, that spoke to my soul. I can remember that like it was yesterday.
Headbangers Ball used to pull crap like that all the time. You wait all week to see some different videos and then they play the same Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, etc ... videos they play multiple times a day anyway. The show is 3 hours once a week, and they filled half or more of that 3 hours with the same crap i could have seen any day of the week at any time of that day. I don't miss Headbangers Ball in the slightest. It was just a journey into frustration.

@@1970borntorun Yep. That's because Images and Words and Awake are both masterpieces. More song based, but still with flashy playing. People always mention Scenes From A Memory, which is a fine concept album, but it doesn't move me like the other two. I can enjoy a lot of DT but I tend to gravitate towards the earlier stuff.
The best part of these shows is the respect for other people's opinion. These guys are honest and don't put you down if you like or don't like certain bands. Much respect to Pete and the gang!
For me it’s Bon Jovi not a fan. But I do like the song Runaway from the debut. Mainly for the awesome Tim Pierce (one of greatest session guitarists) solo.
Is there any way I can hit the like button several times? Great rant. I can name a ton of hair, grunge, nu metal bands that have songs I dig a lot. I love the Bitter End by Sum41, the rest of their catalogue doesn’t do much for me. I love Def Leppard when Pete Willis was in the band; when Phil Collen joined, the party was over for me.
Mr. Mister is actually pretty cool. I enjoy Welcome To The Real World (which features Broken Wings, but also Is It Love and Kyrie, all excellent) in its entirety. Fun fact: The drummer for Mr. Mister was none other than Pat Mastelotto, who would later play on those last few (proper) King Crimson albums. Future topics? Concerts you've walked out of before completion, and the reasons why you walked out. It could be by an artist you love, or one you can't stand (I already know *one* concert Pete couldn't sit through, LOL!!!)
Hate is such a strong word, but here are a couple examples of songs I kinda like by bands I don't like: "I Put the Finger On You" AC/DC "You Don't Want Me Anymore" Steel Breeze "Uncle Tom's Cabin" Warrant "You're In Love" Ratt
Another GREAT Hollywood Squares show that had me laughing and thinking at the same time. Chris’ System Of A Down story was hilarious. And I know I will quote “Like sandpaper to my ears” in music discussions with friends. Thanks to all four for an entertaining start to the day and especially to you, Pete, for keeping a positive feel to the SoT shows, even when it is about something that may be disliked. Looking forward to the next panel show!
Utter sacrilege to many but I've never got Prince. I realise he's very talented and I've tried but I'm clearly missing something. Except When Doves Cry, which is a lovely song.
When his album came out I couldn't understand why people liked him. Still not into it. He was however a great guitarist and could have been the next hendrix but he wasted his talent on that wierd shit.
I quite enjoyed "Mezmerize" and "Hypnotize" by System of a Down. The music can be overly simplistic at times, but they did show creativity and vision on those albums.
@@crispyryce3585 Yes, it's strange he did not (even try to) understand one of the best lyrics from SOAD...that song for me is rather about aggression and (corrupting) power, ruthless politicans and super-rich. Yes, the song is from a male perspective, but money and power corrupts females just as males, it's not a true "masculinity" problem. Blind Melon is one of the most underrated bands ever and they had greater songs than “No Rain”. Also Pearl Jam and Stone Temple Pilots are amazing bands.
I would take Pearl Jam & Stone Temple Pilots over Nirvana every time. And tbh F**K Tool, System of a clown, Phish and Shrimp Biscuit although I liked Rollin' but just because Undertaker used it.
Totally agree, and I am 100% convinced the guy has not even listen to their entire albums, their self title album is great, Soup probably their best album, and Nico is also great
Unfortunately most people only know Blind Melon for "No Rain". It wasn't until I heard their full albums, and saw concert footage, that I realized how good they were. Shannon Hoon had the voice, song writing talent and charisma, may he r.i.p. The whole band was really quite wonderful.
There are a bunch of great Nirvana tunes. They just got overplayed. They were at least very much their own thing. When they came out it was great. I was happy to see Hair metal die. I loved Slayer and Guns and Roses as well. Say what you like they all ran their own race unlike so many PRODUCT bands. But everyone should like what they like. KYUSS were great as well IHMO. Much better than KISS and Iron Maiden even if those guys can play. There first two albums with Di Anno were good after that it was 12 year olds music and just more of same but lamer. Same with AC/DC. Great until Bon Scott died. Far less good afterwards!
@@vladdrakul7851 Nirvana took much more from metal than some people think. Kurt basically took some energy of punk, some noise and thrash metal and some freaking light acoustic Beatles, mixed it all and there you go. Everybody knows that Come As You Are is a borrowed riff but not enough prople know that Smells Like Teen Spirit is exact reversed riff played in the same rythmic pattern as Venom's Countess Bathory. Kurt was definitely aware of that song because he loved Slayer and Metallica (Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammet interview where he talks about meeting Kurt), both bands that were very inspired by Venom.
@@arsentoplak2635 True, so they did what all great artists do, take their influences and through their own character make something new. This is true for every artist I know who is good. From Mozart to the Beatles to Hendrix. They are still unique!

@@MrFrostien I love them and have loved them from the very first time I heard them- which doesn't happen very often with me. They are phenomenal musicians. But their music is not for everyone.
i never liked them until i heard their newest album. still not a big fan of the singers voice or any other album, but pneuma, fear innoculum and invincible are 3 amazing tracks.
@ Yeah I can admit that. They follow a similar formula for most of their songs. But so do lots of the bands we love! Hell, most extreme metal sounds the same.
Dude has a really odd taste in music. I respect his love for his bands but it gets real annoying when he’s talking about some Norwegian Viking mythological band that no one knows. Idk man, maybe it’s just me, but I will never get into anything like that. Pantera, Anthrax, Slayer, Megadeth, Iron Maiden is as heavy as I’ll go and Queensryche is as mythological (or whatever you call it) I’ll go.
I saw GWAR around twenty years ago in London. At the end of the show I and another ten or so people exited the venue together, covered in all manner of colourful bodily excretions. Passing by was a group of nuns. Their expressions shall remain fixed in my memory forevermore.
I'll forever remember walking out in the november cold after a show and lighting a cig with a shit eating grin of the chaos I witnessed and already planning my next GWAR show.
I was probably at that show! I saw them in 1990 in London's Dome and every year after that. Although I kind of agree that their music fell way short; those first 4 shows, when they had incredible special effects including a baby being born out of the woman's belly, a sword slicing the head off a cop with a head like a pig and the cavemen with spiky cocks bigger than half their bodies gobbling up the remains and the giant dinosaur were mind-blowing. People would scream like banshees for the first 15 mis.-Some just in joy and others(1st-timers) in horror from being sprayed with gallons of blood, guts and brains. At that moment in time they were the most fun you could have at a Rock concert, regardless of the music.

THANK YOU for mentioning the John Corabi record from Motley Crue. It's the only album I've been able to listen to by them since high school. I think the music and production is leagues ahead of anything else they've done. Edit: the song "Uncle Jack" is genuinely disturbing and dark, not just for Motley Crue but more for metal in general.

I absolutely can't stand Bon Jovi however... I've always loved his tune "Wanted Dead or Alive". I've never been a fan of the Rolling Stones either. I don't quite hate them but the only song that I love of theirs is "Paint it Black".
I always wondered why Wes Borland, the guitarist for Limp Bizkit always wore the gorilla suit and strange makeup, but I think I've figured it out. It was so nobody he knew would recognize him. I mean, if I was in Limp Bizkit, I'd hide my identity too. Only, I wouldn't give out my real name.
@Donovan Davis Oh okay. I'll have to check them out a little more. It would be easier if I didn' t have to listen to Fred Durst...lol Maybe they would have been a better band if they'd get rid of him.
The Mr Mister album that broken wings is on is actually pretty good. There’s also “Is it love” which is good and another song called “don’t slow down” that is super-catchy. Should’ve been a single.
I agree. I love it, it's an '80s AOR masterpiece Uniform of Youth is great too and of course Broken Wings remains the haunting classic it is. Out of their four albums, it's definitely the best and their third Go On (1987) is pretty good too.
Larry Fleetwood yea it’s always been one of my guilty pleasures. Used to listen to it a lot. It’s got a charm to it for sure. I always thought Kyrie was one of the best songs of the decade. Another band from that era that had a surprisingly good sleeper album was Cutting Crew, with the album Broadcast.
"Welcome To the Real World" is a really good album and I totally agree with "Don't Slow Down". I will never understand how that song was not a Top 40 song. It had great hooks! Best song on that album.

@@corleth84 Very much so. I was never into new wave. I can appreciate how significant a band is to a genre, and why this band is so revered by many. Just because I respect them and their contribution doesn't mean I enjoy their music. I'm sure you have similar experiences. I know "Drive" is overplayed and some would prefer to never hear it again, but it's a timeless tune. That one was brilliant. Even the old video was cheesy, but good enough to hold my attention.
@@musicnerd8969 I was never (at the time) among the greatest fans of 'The Cars', but my surprise about your comment was that you only liked/loved one of their songs. I know a lot of people have a problem with Ric Ocasek's vocals, which is not an issue with 'Drive' (although he wrote it). To my point... you got to at least love one more...what about 'Misfit Kid'?
@@corleth84 The only album by the Cars I ever owned was Panorama--and I traded it in after listening to part of it. This is one of the songs that is representative of why I don't like the Cars. Now a lot of people do not like Ric Ocasek's voice, but that's not the deal with me. I do like Benjamin Orr's voice better. "Drive" was moody, clean, brooding and plaintive. If you like them, I think that's great. I always thought "Drive" was their one off--but it worked for me in a big way. It was just not enough for me to change my mind.
The only song I remember liking on Van Halen lll is Dirty Water Dog. I have not listened to that album since it came out over twenty years ago, and I remember hating the single Without You big time. I might have to give the album another listen .
Pearl Jam information these guys might like: Long time guitarist Mike McCready have/had a UFO tribute band and has Michael Schenker as one of his biggest influences. The guys in the band was pretty young, political and cocky back in the day but people like Mike McCready or Stone Grossard seems like very mellow and nice guys today. Watch a later day interview with either.. Might change your minds a little bit about Pearl Jam. Also: Love this format of the show.
I also think Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament were solid with Mother Love Bone, but yeah, PJ has that first album which is ok and after that they're completely useless band.
Gee, Anton, you're right! There's just SO much to love about Pearl Jam! Could it it be the Marble-Mouth, off key Vocals of Eddie Vedder, or the boring, direction-less songs with no hooks, or the band members who are about as interesting as KISS on the Guitar/Bass/Drums? lol Or probably, it's just ME, and I actually have Music Standards and despise mediocrity.
Yep, PJ is a great band. I don't love all of their music, but they have enough songs that I love to make me a fan. Plus, they used to do those radio shows which were cool, and they always had cool fan club stuff. Idk how much of that they still do, but they are a rock band who has always treated their fans well, and I like a lot of their music.

Slept through the entire concert.
"Touch Of Gray"- The Grateful Dead " Learning To Fly "- Pink Floyd " Working Man"- Rush I don't hate these 3 bands but I really don't care for them. Tool, Phish and Nirvana I absolutely despise and have never found anything I like by them.
I love most of the stuff from the first three. But: Tool, didn't like/didn't dislike Phish, disliked from the beginning. Not hated , but there was nothing to draw me in. Nirvana, they had the good sense to go out on top. Assuming everyone was alive, they would have started putting out the exwife needs back alimony/ contractual obligation albums and wouldn't be nearly as popular as they still are.
The new Tool album has a very different atmosphere from their pre-10,000 Days work. I hate Tool, I loved pretty much the whole Fear Inoculum album. Incredible stuff.

@@marionardechia1579 Nope, I completely agree with their comments on SOAD. They are probably the best band from the crappy nu-metal era, but they still stuck. They just suck slightly less than the rest.
System rules. But I'm easily 10 years younger than anyone on the panel. But to be honest every 45+ year old dude I know ABSOLUTELY HATES them so I'm not shocked. That said, one of the best band I've ever seen live, multiple times.
I'm 48 and have a weird relationship with nu metal. Love SOAD, Deftones and most of Korn and Disturbed. Some bands like Limp Bizkit, Saliva and most of Godsmack's songs you could tell would age like milk. I have still feel the resentment toward grunge/alt that Nick and Chris do. Can't stand Nirvana or Pearl Jam. Alice in Chains still not my thing. Soundgarden was the silver lining of grunge for me. STP tracks I either love or hate.
System is awesome. All their albums are very good. Toxicity is one of my favorite albums of all-time. I was in high school when it came out and listened to it non-stop.
My college friend and the radio ruined me for Bob Seeger by overplaying his songs. Can't think of a one now that doesn't sound overwrought and tired. But I holy sh-t, I love "Main Street"!
Try his early albums if you haven't been ruined on them already. Lucifer, Long Song Coming, Get out of Denver, Leanin on my Dream, 2+2, Ramblin Gamblin' Man all kick ass.
Great show guys! I never cared for Nickelback but to this day I think their first big hit, "How You Remind Me", is a fantastic song and I still turn it up when I hear it.
U2: Thrill Me.. (the Batman song) Bon Jovi: Wanted Dead or Alive..(only because its great to play on the guitar) The Mission: Tower of Strength (ft. John Paul Jones)
Whammy Bard There is no denying their popularity, for people who aren't fans there's bound to be one song they like. U2 have all the ingredients but something doesn't get through to me
I would have to list passable songs by bands or artists to whom I’m indifferent. Mariah Carey- All I Want For Christmas. Madonna- Holiday/ Borderline. Iron Maiden- Run To The Hills. Led Zeppelin- Rock and Roll. Pink Floyd- Money.
I hated Pearl Jam in the 90s. Loathed them!! But around the year 2000, after hearing “Vitalogy” at a friend’s house, it clicked. I was shocked at how much I dug the album and now love everything they’ve done.
U2 - Bullet the Blue Sky Bon Jovi - Wanted Dead or Alive Boston - We're Ready (used to like the band but overplayed to the point of ear pain) re: Motley Crue, Poison, Guns & Roses - these bands have murdered classic rock FM in Baltimore/DC. No redeeming qualities whatsoever and never want to hear another note from them while I am alive.
I actually think Stone Temple Pilots was one of the best bands from that era. Plush alone is such a masterpiece. I guess the choices I disagree with the most are Def Leppard and Pantera, only because the song choices are so similar to a lot of other songs those bands have done and I dont really understand what sets those ones apart. Its all a matter of opinion though. This is such a hard one because there aren't many bands that I actually *hate*, and the ones I do I don't have any songs I actually like from them... For some reason Anthrax is a band Ive never really been able to enjoy. I don't think they deserved to be in the big 4 actually, but I do love their song 'Got The Time'. I hate Ted Nugent but hes got some really good songs. Ill throw 'Stranglehold' in as my second choice as a song I love. Great groove and jamming on that one. Not a huge fan of Prince but I think 'Rasberry Beret' is a good song.
I agree. STP and AIC are the only bands from the grunge movement I can stomach. Agree about Anthrax. I actually don't like a lot of the bands these guys like. But I think they are interesting and knowledgeable people so I like to hear their stories. I'm not huge into Prince either but he was very popular when I was in high school and there's probably 4 or 5 of his tunes I think are pretty cool. Raspberry Beret being one of them.
The weird thing is that the guys here are all referring to MTV and KROC blasting Nirvana and Pearl Jam but it wasnt like that at all here in Ireland, us metal fans were just delighted to hear any sort of rock at all on radio or TV, we were delighted to have gigs to go to, we werent saturated with overplay. I consider myself a true metal fan. Grew up in a house in small town Ireland in the 70's and listened to older brothers and sisters LPs. Heard Sabbath, Zeppelin, Quo, Deep Purple, Yes etc etc for years and got in to NWOBHM and Thrash and little bit of Death and lots and lots and lots of Black Metal but I have no problem with Nirvana and Pearl Jam and Sound Garden and Stone Temple PIlots, I was in college back then and I listened to those bands and got shit-faced drunk with my friends and it was a great time. I understand that the early 90's killed a lot of 80's metal bands (to one degree or another) but I have nothing but good positive memories of all those early 90;s grunge bands!!
“Lola’ (One for the Road versión)The Kinks, “Terrapin Station”by The Grateful Dead, “ Sultans of Swing” by Dire Straits, “ Round and Round” by Ratt, “ One Bourbon One Scotch One Beer” by George Thorogood and The Destroyers, “ Seven Ways of Going” by Patti Smith Group, “Train in Vain” by The Clash...”Mr Make Believe”by Gene Simmons.
1. I thought System of a Down was probably the most unique and interesting band that came out of the Nu-Metal genre. 2. I agree with Black being the best song by Pearl Jam, absolutely brilliant musically and lyrically. 3. Motley Crue sucks, they had a few good songs early on but I fucking hate that band lol 4. Def Leppard "High n' Dry" is a masterpiece

I'm a little disapointed with this one. I was the person who suggested that topic last week and I expected to be a lot more entertaining than it turned out to be (like the previous one actually was). This everlasting metal-guys-still-hating-90's-bands is just boring. And picking obvious awful bands like Limp Biscuit, SOD and Korn is so dull. Once you guys took that path, the episode turned out tiresome instead of funny. I was expecting people picking songs from artists like Carpenters, ABBA or any other absurd/unlikely guilty pleasure. But, hey, I'm still a fan of the channel. Love ya, Pete! You're a great guy But, c'mon people, stop whining over whining bands. Peace always. PS: "I like to think it's true because it makes me hate them more" was great. That's the kinda thing I was expecting.
Well, you can’t force us to hate what we like. These were all honest picks, and the truth of the matter is, close to half of the choices were not 90s bands. I personally love ABBA and the Carpenters.
@@treybenton2392 Don't need to be sorry, I'm 100% with you. I wouldn't pick Carpenters or ABBA if I were part of the team. It was just an example of odd picks by metal guys that could make the episode more entertaining.
@@independenceltd. The worst thing is: that didn't happen. I wish I was driven by THE FANBOY in me. But that's not the case here. The only band they mentioned I like was Pantera - and nowadays, Cowboys and Vulgar are the only albums I do enjoy from start to finish. Pearl Jam is irrelevant since late 90's; STP was always a second-rate Seattle band; the nu metal scene was just pathetic; Tool has some nice tunes here and there, yet I don't own a single album of them. I really don't care for those bands they badmouthed. They are the obvious ones (except for Tool and Pantera). The deal is: this whole thing of 40-plus-year-old-guys-whining-about-the-90's is a constant thing for the last 15 years or so. I'm 47 and I'm quite familiar with those guys that still begrudge those years and claim grunge killed metal. That's BS!! Metal killed metal. The overexposure of crappy metal bands on radio and MTV, some NWOBHM and thrash bands that were running out of steam after years (which is natural), massive bands losing important band members (Maiden, Priest... And even the poseurs: Motley, Ratt...). Those factors + MTV losing interest (which at the time was only natural - metal was a sinking boat) turned metal unpopular again. Metal came back to the underground and that's quite alright, people. I'm fine with that. Most of the best metal was done when it was underground anyways. Big deal!!! AND STILL there were plenty of metal bands that were NEVER as big as they were in the early/mid 90s: Metallica, GnR, Sepultura, Megadeth, Pantera, Aerosmith... Even that awful Def Leppard album from 92 sold like a muthafucka. THE THING IS: the episode was tiresome, that's it. It wasn't funny and didn't have the spontaneity of the previous one: good bands x bad albums. The only real funny moment was when that dude told the Korn story (about they hating Maiden) and how that made him hate Korn even more. That was a good use of their hate for the 90's.
My son is 37 and loved Limp Bizkit. The kicker is that he looked exactly like Fred Durst and used to turn heads with people staring at him. We were in a bus at a NASCAR race in NH and people came to the bus window pointing at him. Like Chris said Nookie is about the best thing they did.

Their music is dull and more or less sounds the same
It got played to Hell, but I love "Every Rose Has It's Thorn" by Poison. Great lyrics and melody in that song, but everything else I've heard by Poison has been noise pollution.
Except not every rose has it's thorn, there are some varieties of thornless roses. Same as it doesn't always rain when it thunders. Those songs drive me nuts for those reasons. lol
I do admit I'm not a big fan of Warrant but do love their song "Uncle Tom's Cabin". I don't really like Starship (after the name "Jefferson" was dropped) but always liked "Sara" a lot.
@@NaughtyVampireGod I loved them when they were Jefferson Starship, when they became Starship in 1985 I lost interest in them, "Find Your Way Back" is a badass tune that should've been a much bigger hit.

No, that's valid. I know a lot of DT fans who think their early catalog is more interesting, and less "dry" and technical-sounding.
give "panic attack" a try. It's painkiller by judas priest meets rush meets metallica
Odd...Pull Me Under?...their worst song
I am with you on Dream Theater. Cannot stand anything they ever did. They bore the crap out of me.
Agree and understand some but certainly not Stone Temple Pilots. They have a Lot of songs I like and don't care what anyone thinks
STP rules. Period.
This was a great one. Really entertaining.
The best part of these shows is the respect for other people's opinion. These guys are honest and don't put you down if you like or don't like certain bands. Much respect to Pete and the gang!
For me it’s Bon Jovi not a fan. But I do like the song Runaway from the debut. Mainly for the awesome Tim Pierce (one of greatest session guitarists) solo.
exactly. Runaway was great
Is there any way I can hit the like button several times?
And the lead singer of Mister Mister (Richard Page) turned down chances to be the lead singer of Chicago and Toto, two of Pete's favorite bands!
Kyrie was og. Done by a late 60s band and was also based on a folk song.the name of the band escapes me

"I Put the Finger On You" AC/DC
"You Don't Want Me Anymore" Steel Breeze
"Uncle Tom's Cabin" Warrant
"You're In Love" Ratt

'Seasons in the Abyss' because it's the only melodic song Slayer ever made in my ears.
‘Crazy Horses’ by The Osmonds
Check out the cover by The Meatmen
I quite enjoyed "Mezmerize" and "Hypnotize" by System of a Down. The music can be overly simplistic at times, but they did show creativity and vision on those albums.
Love those discs! And their others too.
I Love System , a different band from the normal bands
Toxicity is a masterwork when you finally understand SOAD's angle.
The song that dude was referring to is Cigaro. It's about Toxic masculinity which I'm pretty sure he suffers from in the first place.

"No Rain" is probably the weakest track on that album, which is actually pretty rockin
Yes indeed, love me some Blind Melon
Nico is a great album too. Soup is pretty good too.
Unfortunately most people only know Blind Melon for "No Rain". It wasn't until I heard their full albums, and saw concert footage, that I realized how good they were. Shannon Hoon had the voice, song writing talent and charisma, may he r.i.p. The whole band was really quite wonderful.

Great job guys! Very interesting topic. You all kept it real, informative and funny at the same time!!
Nirvana - Come as You Are
That song is a total rip off of Killing Joke's 'Eighties' 😀
Lucha Libertaria and David Grohl payed them back by drumming on their 2003 album. Which is a killer album!

@Donovan Davis Wes Borland was the only good one in Limp Bizkit.
@Donovan Davis Oh okay. I'll have to check them out a little more. It would be easier if I didn' t have to listen to Fred Durst...lol Maybe they would have been a better band if they'd get rid of him.
How can you seriously hate Kyrie by Mr. Mister?
I love them too but not really into that song either, it's okay but I prefer their rockier or more moody and atmospheric songs.
Its a great song
Hey pete if you get this i just have a random question for you...what do u think of Lordi?
I like that album too, yes. A very good live band also, I remember their Full House gig on German TV in 1987, it may be on UA-cam.
"Welcome To the Real World" is a really good album and I totally agree with "Don't Slow Down". I will never understand how that song was not a Top 40 song. It had great hooks! Best song on that album.

No; they'll always suck
Gee, Anton, you're right! There's just SO much to love about Pearl Jam! Could it it be the Marble-Mouth, off key Vocals of Eddie Vedder, or the boring, direction-less songs with no hooks, or the band members who are about as interesting as KISS on the Guitar/Bass/Drums? lol Or probably, it's just ME, and I actually have Music Standards and despise mediocrity.

re: Motley Crue, Poison, Guns & Roses - these bands have murdered classic rock FM in Baltimore/DC.
Funny thing about Got the time by Anthrax that's a cover of Joe Jackson

2. I agree with Black being the best song by Pearl Jam, absolutely brilliant musically and lyrically.
3. Motley Crue sucks, they had a few good songs early on but I fucking hate that band lol
4. Def Leppard "High n' Dry" is a masterpiece
Very cool show Pete... deserves a round 2, if you have the time... and more bands you hate with songs you 'love' (or at least like to some extent) - I know you hate R.E.M. … try the song 'Feeling Gravitys Pull'
It's My Life: Bon Jovi / What's Goin' On: Zebrahead / Aqualung: Jethro Tull
"It's My Life" ? Brave choice
@@notabillyjoelfan not as brave as nookie
5 songs I like from acts I don't care for:
Stranglehold (Ted Nugent)
Ridin' the Storm Out (REO Speedwagon)
Cold as Ice (Foreigner)
Every Rose Has Its Thorn (Poison)
My Hero (Foo Fighters)
I disagree with sooo much of this lol. Still love it though. One of my favorite channels.
Enjoyed this Pete I do like some of the bands you guys were not liking but some you like I don't so it's all good. Maybe a rant on favorite long songs. Maybe 8 minutes or longer. Could be a fun show.
BUt Carpenters and ABBA are better than Limp Bizkit and Korn. Sorry.
Let me guess, they picked on bands that you do like and didn't pick bands you don't like. waa.
Brilliant show guys 🍺🥃🤘👍
I LOVE 80s and 90s metal, but a group I could never get into is/was Pantera. This was a really fun video to watch. So entertaining.
Night Songs - Cinderella.
Not a big fan of the whole Brian Johnson style singing, but enjoy the super cool heavy slide guitar.
Another worthy one would be “Sunday Bloody Sunday” by the fucking bane of my existence - U2.
I think you mean "Night Songs" ... title track on their first record.
Mike N I had a feeling it wasn’t Night Moves haha
Zack Martin YES SOMEONE ELSE! I can’t stand U2. They are far and away my most hated band. They are so “pop-y”, just like all the other huge “rock bands” of now like Maroon 5 and Panic at the Disco and 21 Pilots 🤮🤮 I just don’t see why they’re so appealing. Their music is dull and more or less sounds the same
1. Goodbye Stranger- Supertramp; 2. Save a Prayer- Duran Duran; 3. Sour Girl- Stone Temple Pilots
It got played to Hell, but I love "Every Rose Has It's Thorn" by Poison. Great lyrics and melody in that song, but everything else I've heard by Poison has been noise pollution.
I always liked Talk Dirty to Me
Except not every rose has it's thorn, there are some varieties of thornless roses. Same as it doesn't always rain when it thunders. Those songs drive me nuts for those reasons. lol
I have a soft spot for I Won't Forget You
This was a very fun show to watch! I was like a yo-yo with all these picks. Just goes to show how much music plays with with your emotions.
My Own Prison by Creed
There's a few good tunes by them, lol.
god i can’t stand creed. but yeah that ones the most tolerable for me. otherwise i can’t
Rebel with a cause On their first album
I graduated in 2000. They were huge in my day. Looking back I probably like 5 or 6 songs still.
If Fred was not in Limp Bizkit I think they could have been more likeable.
The music is great but the vocals and lyrics suck.
I do admit I'm not a big fan of Warrant but do love their song "Uncle Tom's Cabin".
I don't really like Starship (after the name "Jefferson" was dropped) but always liked "Sara" a lot.
sara is good also miracles, jane, find yer way back
@@NaughtyVampireGod I loved them when they were Jefferson Starship, when they became Starship in 1985 I lost interest in them, "Find Your Way Back" is a badass tune that should've been a much bigger hit.
@@Doobie1975 yeah , starship = we built this city; and ya know the rest . . :-)
Its the metal boys !! 🤟🤟🎛🎛🔟🔟
Motley Crue - Kickstart My Heart
I agree, I thought that might be the song Pete would have picked. That’s the only Crue song I like.
Legend of a Mind - Moody Blues
Lady - Styx
Feelin' Stronger Everyday - Chicago
Feeling That Way / Anytime - Journey
Travelin' Man / Beautiful Loser - Bob Seger
All the bands you listed have way better songs in their catalog that you probably haven't listened to. Ignore the classic rock stations hits they play and dig deeper. Those bands are really talented and were pigeonholed over a couple of hits.
