A while ago I read an article on CRASH's Rafael Perez where the article mentioned how Rafael was caught when a hotel employee called complaining to the the cops about a rude and obnoxious customer looking like a gangster was making a scene in the hotel lobby. When the cops showed up they immediately recognized Rafael who insisted that he was undercover but when the files were examined he was not investigating or undercover that is when the missing drugs from the evidence room was called into question and that is how Rafael's career went downhill from there and how he was paid by gangs to drop off the police informants or snitches into their neighborhoods to be dealt with. In the movie Training Day Detective Alonzo is a portrayal of Rafael Perez and the CRASH unit

It almost seems like this stuff would be harder to pull off if police funding were restructured to increase thier salaries drastically and otherwise cut in regards ridiculously militant expenditures and weren't sheltered from reciprocity by unions n qualified immunity...
