I've been in prison with some of these cops. This report left out the fact that these cops are into drug dealing, pimping, and extortion. They need to go RICO on them.
Yep, child and human trafficking!! I've seen the evidence myself from alot of people's personal stories "matching - who don't know each other." What are the odds?...that means it's true.
Notice how the responce to cops who were convicted of crimes was to transfer them out of public sight instead of taking the obvious stance of "obviously they're not qualified to be _law enforcement_ officers"?
This journalist has serious guts for exposing this. Unfortunately she probably has multiple targets on her back. And to make it worse, those who want to do ill will have authority.
Ridiculous to drive around in a car with the words "serve and protect" written on the side, when the only serving they do is of tickets and self serving, and the only protecting they do is of each other, from the law. But here we are. Surrounded by statues of cops helping little girls cross the street, as if they would ever dream of stepping out of their air conditioned car to do something other than extort and terrorize.
The way Los Angeles County is policed is also codependent with its prosperity. Property taxes fund the Los Angeles County Sheriff. Property values are bolstered by racist municipal incorporation - e.g. how Los Angeles partly incorporated the Port of Los Angeles to confiscate tax wealth from geographically closer residents in Inglewood, Compton and Long Beach. Property values are also bolstered by efforts to address the need of economically divested areas with an administrative class of public employees - including police - who may work in areas of need but disproportionately spend their salaries in the more prosperous zip codes they commute from. This serves as another mechanism to extract wealth and perpetuate divestment. I suspect that the law-enforcement subjects of this documentary disproportionately lived in places like Simi Valley, Santa Clarita, Burbank and more prosperous zip codes - far from the job sites where corruption occurred. (Side note: This easily dovetails with the question of why these places are more politically conservative). We need to re-imagine public services, including law enforcement, as components of representative government whose public investment remains in the zip codes being served.
Honestly I wasn't expecting to see you here Tay but so far alot of what were seeing and hearing is all proven to be true. Its like my mother once said whatever happens in the dark shall eventually be brought too the light
Because they been brainwashed to never question authority like law enforcement, the polices are always right and always have a reason for what they did to these people. Even with George Floyd, they said he wasn’t an angel and was supposedly on drugs at the time of his death. A cop could shoot a man in the head and they would say the drugs killed him at that exact moment
It's the abuse of that power. There's your lack of accountability & regulation. What else would spawn from this televised criminality & black or white treatment of the branded "bad guy"? Don't try to reason with anyone, but instead quietly judge that person & be afraid! THAT is what the system has become, has been making us become, rather --- an irrational group of individuals who fear one another just as much as the government. And that's why Trump is now president; to halt that evil bullshit. Judgments without a clear understanding makes people look stupid.
@@rynegreen7902 George Floyd was on fentanyl and crystal meth when he died it was in his system. Fentanyl affects your respiratory system. Crystal meth affects blood vessels restricting them causing the lungs and heart to work harder. George Floyd also had Covid in his system that also affects the respiratory system lastly he had a heart condition that was going to kill him within six months. He died from a overdose on camera was it hard to watch yes was the cop being racist? Maybe maybe not if you watch the call George was put in the back of the cruiser without being roughed up and he started screaming I can’t breathe I want to lay on the ground so they let him lay on the ground. What bothers me is two offers involved were Hispanic one was Asian but it turned into a racial issue that caused a chain of events that destroyed literally thousands of businesses they estimate 30+ people were killed during the violent protests because a career criminal who held a gun to a pregnant woman during one of his robberies died on camera off a overdose. As for this video absolutely call out cops who are killing people but also focus on the big number of Hispanic cops who are literally on the cartel payroll killing people. She solely focused on white supremacy gangs fanning the all ready high racial tension. Meanwhile gang members are killing people nightly. The LAPD is having a massive number of cops leaving the force and no one is joining causing staffing shortages. This leads to more violence on the streets.

@@curtissimmons2287 Police exist to enforce the law, not to protect you. In fact, they aren't even legally obligated to protect you, a federal court ruled. The chief functions of the police are social control, and protection of profit. It has historically been the case that police have been used to crush movements challenging the status quo, and that still is the case today. Whether it be workers on strike in 1921 or people of color protesting against racism in 2021, police have always been the oppressors. If you want a good book to read on the history of police, and alternatives to policing, I recommend Alex Vitale's The End of Policing.
I love what the gravel institute is doing. Educating the public on important matters for free and showing recourses. Keep up the good work and thank you.

Look up the manifesto of Christopher Dorner, an LA county deputy, and the background of why he went to literal war against the other members of this department.
Most people know about white supremacists in police. They just chose not to talk about it. Whites hate to believe they have privilege. Because it makes them feel bad. But truth is these gangs been around for a very long time. And target blacks
This is why I left law enforcement back at the end of the 1980’s early 90’s. I couldn’t tell the good guys from the bad guys anymore. Having a badge didn’t automatically make a person a good guy. I encountered a lot of officers that were worse than the people we were arresting. When I was pressured to either join in or look the other way was when I quit. I changed careers and became an electrician instead plus I moved to another state. I couldn’t stay in LA because I wasn’t safe. As soon as I quit I was a target. This has been going on for decades.

if 15 cops were in a gang then that'd be a disgusting failure, when the majority of the force is divided into 15 violent gangs... I can't even think of words to describe it.
@Silungisele Mthimkhu the same reasons bloods and crips still beef, the same reason mob families exist the same reason there are rival cartels. Sometimes it's better and more efficient and better off if every group has their turf.
This is LA county when you used to have one or two groups that used to control the city things were bad but you could also easily blame someone. This is what you get as a result of the drug wars. Gangs are in it for the money crooked police are in it for the money. It's not to hard to see where it goes. As for street gangs alot of them have big families. If your brother is a five points blood but your a cop do you really want to arrest your brother? More then likely gangs and police work hand in hand. KKK, MS-13, Aryan brotherhood, Mexican Mafia, 18th street, Bloods, crips, latin kings, Jewish syndicate, the commission, the outfit, all these groups work together to some degree hell if you're hearing about the locals being corrupted ten to 1 the Fed's already have gangs within their organization.
@Silungisele Mthimkhu realistically speaking the streets work like this. If you make yourself an easy mark you will be taken advantage of and made a rube. Most of our institutions in drug money have been corrupted to one extent or the other. Weather it's cartels, the prison industrial complex, or simple drug money to be made of seizures. The drug war has destroyed all the nations involved in it. Mexico is now the world's most violent country that isn't in a civil war. Columbia probably will collapse as a nation, Venezuela is already bought by foreign countries and drug money, Cubas elite class gets rich off shoring cartel drug money. The corruption brought on by the war on drugs has rotted almost all of the american continent.
Things like this are not just in California, it's all over the US, it does not matter the size of the department either. Corruption is everywhere. I was adopted by a cop in a large department in the middle of the US. I saw a lot of things go on in the department that shouldn't, being a 15 yr old kid I was scared to say anything. I live in a small town that only had 4 full-time paid officers and a few reserve for the weekends. I had a relationship with the assistant police chief for 2 years. I could have taken the whole department and city leaders from the mayor to the clerks down with the things I seen and some things I had video and audio recording from drug abuse, racism, embezzlement and a child sexual predator. I'm a single Mom with 2 kids living over 100 miles from any family support. I felt our lives would be in danger if I outed everything and everyone. I don't have the money and resources to move so I still have a lot of the evidence with me. I did out the sexual predators and turned over everything I had for evidence but I was guaranteed to remain anonymous. Once I turned what I had over and it was known that the pervert was under investigation several others came forward. He was removed from his high ranking seat, charged and is in jail with no bail. Idk how long it will be before he goes to trial but I'm glad that with all the other evidence from others I don't have to be involved and I'm able to publicly remain out of it and the trial. I was a neglect kid thrown into the foster care system. I spent 15 years running from the authorities. I don't know nothing, I see nothing, I hear nothing, but seeing first hand how corrupt the department that was designed to protect us I still have almost zero confidence in the system. The only thing that I couldn't turn my back on was a child predator and molester being in a high ranking position that put all kids in danger. I'm able to move from this area financially now. I'll never look back and hope to God the move is to a less corrupt area.
The racist officer and high ranking city official are no longer in their position. The officer died and the city leader was told to step down or they will be outed as a racist and for embezzling. All of this was from 2016 to 2021
Living in LA, you can feel the fear. Even if people don't openly talk about it, the distrust is apparent and this needs more coverage. Thank you so much for making this video and I hope it gets the exposure it deserves.
The people interviewed probably know people in gangs or have refused to speak out against them the same way they do here. They only seem to care about the crimes of other people, not the ones in their own neighborhoods.
@@tjg801 the police are the criminals in their neighborhood. The video literally said how the LAPD was connected to various gangs. There is no reason to respect or want police if they're the same as the other criminals.
@TJ G That's a super racist assumption you made with no evidence. You just assumed that because the people interviewed are POC they have gang connections.
And your statement erases the fact that these 'crimes' are often faked (like in the video with the possession of firearms) or are for things that are made illegal to specifically target non-White people (like drug possession).
Common knowledge a lot of police officers in Southern California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas are paid off by cartels. It's just only the dumb ones get caught but most arent so you don't hear about it often. It's not like they're as corrupted as the police in Mexico, where police shoot at other police to protect cartel members. But in the US they definitely drive behind certain semi trucks with drug loads so the semis don't get pulled over in that officers county.

How many people actually driving around in their own car and then they actually got pulled over by the police? Then they may get fired for being racist and also corrupted when they actually found out the person is actually a police chief or maybe a judge. When I was actually living in City of Industry I seen police officers throwing up some gang signs, a picture. A white officer who arrested and pushed a black man who is actually an officer to the dark tinted window and shattered the glass with his head.

@Silungisele Mthimkhu They are gang bangers, not samurai. They don't give a shit about what's "fair".

Wish there were a means of collating and organizing this and similar data that existed apart from the usual “coopted” means.

You aren't supposed to treat your own citizens as nothing more than potential enemy combatants
They are citizens too. I know, it's easy to forget since they refer to us as "civilians", like they were in Fallujah battling insurgents, and not writing soccer moms tickets. But they are SUPPOSED to be of the people, the same as us. They clearly aren't though, are they?
Cops see themselves as more than civilians, they're an embodiment of the law, untouchable and just. They get paid more than the average citizen off the bat. They can use or deny their authority at their leisure. Most do not live in the areas they patrol. Regular citizens? No.
@@dishonoredundead they are not regular citizens
They treat us like that because they are an occupying force.
I've lived under occupation my entire life and so have you and so have our parents. Some of us were treated better than others. It's not a hard occupation but it is an occupation none the less.
The war on crime should've focused on policing the police.
The only problem is the feds are twenty times worse then most of the police departments. Sure the police might gun down someone especially the random minorty to fill in the we shoot a hundred suspects this year. But the feds literally committed Waco on live TV In public in front of camera and every one there knee there were agents who shot people in the head and smiled over dead bodies. The only way policing is fixed is if we start taking back control of our institutions locally. Compton should decide it's policing and local voters should have more control over it.
Live in Montrose next to La Canada, Ca. Sheriff stopped my Dad driving home one night, asked what was here doing in that neighborhood (has a white wife who grew up there), then literally told him he was from a gang; and if he or anyone from his gang sees him again, things would be "different"; "is that fair?" he asked. Wtf is that, you know what it is.
F**k the police and the Sheriff too and whatever gang they're from. Cowards hide behind a badge and glass shield.
That is so wrong. I had no idea that this is going on. Why is this allowed? So scary.

As long as qualified immunity is on the board.. Nothing will ever happen
The judges let them get away with as well bro
Qualified immunity only protects the cops from being sued "Not Being Charged For A Crime". The DA "District Aterneys" are the ones who refuse to charge them.
@@cuttingedge91 ok, but being able to sue then having a garnishment placed on their house/car/assets sure would be a clear message.

@@boggsanonymous1787 Ooops! I didn't complete the thought. I mean for the corrupt law enforcement to repent and come clean of their wrong doing.
Yes, or at least tweaked. If nothing else, the burden of proof should absolutely be reversed. It is not the victims of criminal with badges that should have the burden to proof, using thousands of dollars in attorney fees, that Qualified Immunity cannot be invoked as a defense in their cases. No, it should be the officer that should have the burden to prove that qualified immunity can be invoked as a defense and/or for the case to be dismissed.
But it would be FAR, FAR, to be enough in order to finally have the chance to maybe get half decent police officers. It needs to be a part of a big police reform. For example, their training and screen process are laughably lacking. It's not normal that someone who did a very introductory law university class during one semester knows more about the law and our rights than 99.9% of police of officer... How does that make any sense? We have people, completely ignorant about the law, hired by us to enforce the law. It's madness!
