My family had Dennis Nielson over for dinner back in 1971, when my dad was 5 years old. Apparently he was friendly, quiet and struggled to make conversation. They remember hearing about him on the news years later and being shocked.

What frustrated many women of the time is that the police had enforced a curfew on the women in Yorkshire to be home by 7 or 7:30pm, when it was clear the serial killer was male. There were a lot of protests then, calling for men to be given the curfew instead. Of course, this didn't happen.

My bio mother's maiden name was 'Sutcliffe' and she ended up changing mine to that when I was a toddler (no, we're not related to Peter Sutcliffe, the surname just means 'South of the cliff' so both families likely came from a similar area). When I was in secondary school we were studying databases in IT and the teacher was using Police databases as an example. She then mentioned the Yorkshire Ripper, Peter Sutcliffe...All eyes turned to me and I had to explain that no, I wasn't related to him and the families just came from the same area...

My great grandmother told of starvation times in late 1800s. She told my mother nobody had food or meat except what they grew or hunted. Her husband had killed a bunch of squirrels and took a few to the neighbor. He swore they were all sitting around the table with meat and vegetables and looking closer he saw an infant's HAND on the dinner table surrounded by other pieces of meat. The man's daughter had been pregnant out of wedlock but no baby was ever born or seen. My gg grandmother swears it was born and they ate it.

Cannibalism during famine is not unusual. People get so hungry the part of the brain that regulated ethics gets shut off. Happened in north Korea during famine, famous Donner pass survivors, it horrifies us but it happened in Papua new guinea, some Africans eat albino body parts for magic. Thankfully it's a rare event and we hope we never live to see such times.

About a year before Gary Ridgeway was caught as the Green River Killer two of my friends and I met him in a parking lot next to a bike trail along the Green River. We just thought he was a weird guy who asked weird questions about bike races in Seattle, made a comment about smelling weed, and who made a very strange joke about "The green river killer having a green car" (We were in a green VW Bug) and didn't think much of it despite being creeped out.
We had a really bad feeling but I know we were more concerned about this weird guy riding up to us on a bike while we were smoking weed because he might call the cops or something.
But when the news broke and I saw the guys face I knew instantly that we had seen him, I called my friend and the first thing he said to me was "WE MET THE GREEN RIVER KILLER!" so it wasn't just me who was 100% positive we met him.

Evil is Gacy who enjoyed killing and pain and having relations while they were dieing. Dahmer was lonely sick. Gacy was pure evil. Both sickening people. Just a nuance of words.

31:58 The movies "Citizen X" and "Evilenko" masterfully represented the long hunt for Chikatilo, who was superbly played in the first film by Jeffrey DeMunn (Dale in The Walking Dead) and in the second one by Malcolm McDowell (Caligula and Alex in A Clockwork Orange), showing also how the Soviet Union, apart from refusing to accept that in its "socialist paradise" there was a murderer on the loose, took advantage of the panorama to arrest and imprison as many homosexuals as possible
In addition, Chikatilo and his murders served as inspiration for the novel "Child 44", in which his horrendous crimes are transferred to the last years of the Stalinism.
