Star Trucker:
Haul cargo, trade salvage and keep your space suit close as you search for fame and fortune among the stars in a game that puts a galaxy hopping twist on the truck sim genre.
Don't skip tip #6!! A lot of people don't know about it! If you found these tips helpful don't forget to Like and Subscribe for more!
**Note on tip #8 - I worded this poorly, choosing one side of the tree does not block you from being able to progress down the other, it just keeps it locked until you put points into it.
What's the best place to get those black totes? Cosmo's?
You can find the crates in some stores and floating around at salvage points
Yeah, 6 was definitely one i didnt know. thanks!
Thanks for clarifying tip 8 with your note.
To add to tip 6, if you ever forget to sell or buy something, don't worry, keep the mag locked into the store and get out of your seat and go to the back of the truck with the airlock door closed as you see at 5:25 with the store icon. I never knew this until I seen his video. I was doing it the long and hard way by unlocking and then backing up to lock in again. I used so much power.
Bro I bet u were like 😐 aha 😅😅
Welp time to start over
#6 is Awesome. This is one I definitely needed to know. Thanks for the TIPS
If cash is low, don’t be afraid to go down to negative $2,500 balance stocking up before a mission, it’s free credit and can save you from failing and paying more in penalties.
Also if you skip a weigh station and jump system it’s an instant $2,000 fine
also same if you go to a shop before you go the weighing station
@@jirkau555I found that out the hard way. It'd be nice if they flagged you for a weigh in right when you enter the system, not when I'm right next to a fricken shop. Such bs.
Awesome tips man! Just started this game a few days ago and this helps alot, as well as the power saving video. Thanks!!
Glad I could help!

To go with #3, You can also the truck camera if you aren't a fan of third person/prefer immersion. If you bump up your fov to 75-80 you can see much easier in first person
Did not know #3 and 6#. Help me a lot.
Notes:
The skills to increase your load help - If you've just claimed a bunch of salvage and then jump into a zone with weight checks - you will be forced to surrender enough items to get under weight - that can be expensive.
External Camera - works great - but remember to switch back regularly to check your status. You can lose air or freeze to death if you're not paying attention.
Truck Upgrades - The mag-lock Dampener reduces collision damage to trailers. The Anti-Capacitive Shielding will reduce the number of Pop'd Surge suppressors (and they're expensive)
When it comes to driving, don't baby foot it, hit the gas, turn early and stop turning a little early. If you want it to go where you point, over turn just a little and hit the gas, it pulls you back on target where you're trying to go much easier than turning direct to it and then getting nosed away when you try to go. Acceleration while turning gets you on target and away from danger much faster than coast turning or trying to slow down and turn slow.
Turn early, the truck does a lot of drifting.
Turn off the driving assistant when possible, it saves fuel, and you can cruise without using cruise, because the thrusters won't work against you and slow you back down, & saving power too 😜.
If you leave it on you can accelerate and cost. You can usually coast about 4-5* longer than you accelerate for and this up and down speed instead of full blast all the time gets more distance for fuel. Coasting without assistance on is ideal but he assists slow down slowly and the forward acceleration is pretty quick.
Keep the lights off, even the outside ones. Don't really need them 🤷🏻♂️
i dont even have the game (my computer cant run it) so these lets-plays are super fun, keep up the good work :D
Thanks! I will have the next episode of my full playthrough out tomorrow! It was a little longer than expected so editing is taking a while!
Wonderful tips😊
I really enjoy this game.
What i like to do when docked at Stations i love to turn all engines off and then.
I also turn off all relays and enter the airlock when i exit the game.
I know that it is not a tip. But I just love immersion.
So when i load in my game i am always inside the airlock.
So i basicly just start up the entire truck. Engines Will be cold though.
But yeah like i said i love immersion. And enjoy all the sounds the truck makes.
Really cool game 😊
You missed the fact that you can completely turn your gravity off in the cab at the breaker after you have secured everything and stop draining those batteries. The gravity generator is an extremely high drain on a battery and if you can tolerate it being off there is no real negative other than the small amount of damage to items in the airlock.
I have a power management video that I put out yesterday that covers that. I didn't want to recycle information that I had already covered too much.
Opening boxes stored in your shelves fixes them in place. So no need to dump boxes in the airlock.
I've personally found if you put big items downstairs in the corners lift the stairs and purposely turn off gravity it's very rare anything ever flies up toward the seat. It works out much better if you're planning on going after salvage beacons.
Great tips, I'd like to give you one too, you move the camera very frantically, which makes it look really bad for those watching, I've been going to comment on this for a while, look at the other channels and none of them do this.
I completely agree, it's very jarring.
It's common enough on YT.
@@AndrePereira-tw5vs thanks for pointing that out! I will try to keep that in mind for future videos!
Legit just started playing this today so these were super helpful 👍
Been playing for about 20 to 25 hrs now, ngl, I just dont use the E brake.
Pro tip btw yall: the truckers *WILL HIT YOU* even if you're "pulled over". I was literally filling up at a gas station, in Medusa Six I believe, last night and got hit BAD. Totaled my truck. Their pathing *SUCKS.* Highly suggest using tip 3 from here.
Bonus pro tip: as I found out from that gasoline AI driveby from yesterday, truck WILL still run with little to no difference in performance even if HP = 0. Dont worry about totaling, worry about the cost to fix it.
Thank you!
Best tip is this:
n. 11: start a CUSTOM game and reduce to minimum every decay of all consumables...and start to actually play this game instead of an alternative game called "change batteries simulator"...
emergency air break - wanted to know what it did, cheers, now i know :)
Awesome!
Wedged in the sleeper bed curtain for the uncrateable items it traps them during 0 G
Are there any ways to get past security checkpoints to smuggle contraband? I thought the 1-5 rating would have something to do with it but i got caught out in a 1 star zone😢
Do barrow’s quest-line and you’ll get a secret compartment to smuggle Items in. You also can use it as extra cargo space.
I did not know the open box in shop option
I love the game, but I just encountered my 3rd bug that caused me to have to abandon the cargo and get penalized. I had to just stop playing it until it gets a few patches. There's enough to spend money on as it is in game without bugs/glitches adding to it. FYI if your delivering cargo to Darkside, there's a cargo bay that has an invisible wall around it, and of your told to drop off in it, your S.O.L. Maybe I can spare someone my last fate
Thanks for the heads up. Do you know which one it is?
NGL... was that guy that had to go open up the cases.... until I met Tip number 6... also, if you have a big crash the cases still fly out even if jammed in the shelves?
@@stephenwallace7288 I am not 100% sure if they do or don't. Its worth testing in a custom game.
You'd figure you'd have cargo nets and fixed storage. Are there upgrades you can buy for this or are the boxes just cuz videogame?
Need some tips for the other regions. Right now I'm getting KILLED by electrical storms! Tbh i have no clue how they work
They're just electric clouds. As long as you drive around them or drive through them quickly, they aren't a problem. Sometimes they spawn on a docking point for a shop or job board, so just watch the electric meter on the dash (left side, above cruise control) and make sure it's not filling up to the red.
If you get the upgrade that insulates you from shock it will help a lot!
@bryce10521 yeah I went to a shop and thought I'd be protected while shopping but I ended up popping one of my protection things! So careful if you shop in a storm
1:53 not when I am on them.......
@@NoOne-fe3gc 😂
I am almost done with the game, tip 6 pissed me off. How did the game never mention that?
How is progression locked on the Fast & Risky side if you advance the Safe & Sound side of the skill tree?
I may have worded that a little badly. It isn't locked, just unavailable until you put a skillpoint into it.
the worst thing about the air brake isn't it uses air. Its if you're using a controller pressing in the left stick will activate it automaticaly
@@OzbyBray oof I did not know that!
Seriously? Nobody knew 6?
@@nerfreak01 its one of those things you don't figure out unless someone tells you or you just happen to accidentally right click.
