I started to play it on gamepass yesterday and at first I felt the same as I almost gave up after my first death but stuck with it 1 more time and then spent 5 hours drivign around lol. Once you get the hang of the controls its pretty relaxing to just sit back and haul some stuff around. The 2 trailers is damn near impossible for me to right now and Idk if I will ever be able to grab a 2nd trailer
I f'd up hard in my first save, driving careless through debris fields, not looking out for battery charges, not checking ucc healths, and most importantly not stocking spare parts. At some point I was trying to finish a job to clear some of my debt so i could buy air filter while being out of O2, sitting in the driver seat with space suit on. It did not end well 😅. On my next save though, i was very careful. I tried to max money with trading commodities, selling used batteries with 20-30% charge to %20+ energy systems, never jumping without cargo. Driving carefully and slowly also helps. Most time is spent when jumping - due to time dilation - you can drive 60 mph and have no problems regarding late delivery. Avoiding debris fields when possible, driving through designated roads (with lights and signs). Aaaaand I was swimming in money. I got most of the upgrades around 12 hrs into the save
@@jamess.931 you can't just connect 2 jobs together, ever from what I have experienced. getting the trailer limit thing just makes job pop up that are multi trailer jobs, kinda sucks because it'd be cool to run 2-3 jobs all in the same direction to bump up income since the jobs pay absolutely crap. xD
@@SpuddyLlama ok that makes sense, I spent a good 30mins trying to hook up a 2nd trailer last night and couldnt get it to work so gave up lmao ended up having to drive back and forth as I did not want to pay $1500 fee for canceling
For now, don't take any multiple trailer missions. Multiple trailers are bugged. The drop zones are only large enough for single trailers, and you will end up failing the delivery and being fined. Cardboard boxes work just like the plastic containers, but are smaller and cheaper. If you put all your cargo in containers, they're completely safe, even if the lid is open. If you put a container on a shelf and open the lid, it will lock it in place. With all your cargo in boxes on the shelves, lids open, you can run with your gravity turned off. If you see high dollar items on sale cheap, go in to debt if you need to, and buy them out. You can have up to 10,000 debt. A good trade on 3 air filters can get you an easy couple thousand credits. When you're in the trading menu, you can right click on your boxes and see the cargo inside to trade the items. Now that you have more sectors unlocked, if you take long haul missions, there are a few express jump gates with tolls. When you see a 5 jump job, those express gates that charge you $150 can cut 3 jumps out, which can give you a few hundred extra pay for early delivery. Paying $150 to make $330 is well worth it. If you watch, your clock jumps forward every time you use a jump gate. Also, don't take rush deliveries. Usually a single jump takes more time than they allow for the delivery. I usually skip the highways as well. Going in a relatively straight line at 150mph saves a lot of time.
I immediately thought of cowboy bebop too. later I watched that episode and it is also one of my favorite episodes of the series. See you later space cowboy!
Debris fields aren’t faster because you will absolutely hit something. Keep in mind that even a tiny little speck of a rock that is practically invisible will cause a hull breach, and then you have to fix it. Pro tip for the highways: Fly just below them. There are no rocks and the traffic never goes down there, so it’s basically like an HOV lane where you can pass right by everyone and drive in the middle of the road.
The classic "Slow is smooth and smooth is fast". Except the highways are also faster since you can just go like 220kmph with one trailer fairly easily. Meanwhile I find in open space I can only do 120 with enough time to react to most things, but it's easy to miss something.
There are some.highways I found that have some rocks just below the highway, probably for this, but the bots drive high in the road so you can be in the highway space under people.
Actually if you actually look for it you can ignore basically all debris with ease I do it all the time. Except for the asteroid fields sector that’s destructive
I push down on the D pad constantly to get a better view of whats in front of me. You can find a lane to dodge the debris if you zoom in and look for it. It requires a lot of finessing but it can be done but I wont exceed 100 mph. BUT i dont play in external view. Im always in the cab. I dont know how people pilot like that LOL
Always take an empty box when salvaging, pop the stuff in there then carry it back, saves a lot of time and suit energy, seeing as you can only carry one thing at a time
*Laughing at Drae saying he "doesn't know how to avoid" trucks hitting him while he has all of his cab lights off!* Always get a great laugh out of your shows! Thank you and I look forward to the next chapter that I'm catching up on!

I started play this game (like many others) becourse of Drae, he made me buy more games than i need... But this one i find really fun, people claim its too hard however i found a few tips that make me run recommended just fine (even if i have all lights turned on i can afford to waste the power). 1. first part of the game only buy batteries, air vent filters, and the small computer thing i forgot its name. 2. Never drive empty, no matter what always bring a load with you. I think driving empty is what drain most new people. If your main objective lead to a system where you don't have a job to, then do jobs near that place till you get one that lead you there. If you jump through a gate without a load on your back, you are draining your money. 3. People that have problem reverse into a delivery spot, remember you are in space. You can drive facefirst towards the spot. force the trailer with you as you turn 180. Give you a much smaller distance to reverse. 3.5. Its a big help to reverse for me if i look outside on the camera that force me to look direckly backwards. 4. Look at battery prices and see how mych energy you get each $ i found out the smaller batteries 100 or 150 is the only ones i buy.. the 200 batteri give you alot less energy each $ spend edit: Thanks to @Teddy_Bear312 i learned that the 200 battery deplete slower, so i'm not sure about this advice. I don't know if the slower deplete rate make up for the cost, but not buying the 200 one helped me in my run. Sorry the long post, hope it helps someone out there.
As for your 4th tip; The 200 battery depletes slower. So they are a little more expensive compared to the 150 battery, but it loses less charge per hour, and has a higher capacity.

Drae there should be a button for the E-Brake, on console we just have to hit L3 to engage it so it should be something on PC. Another thing I figured out is to jump in your pace suit when something is wrong inside the cab, you can drive with the suit on so it can save you in bad moments and will hopefully give you enough time to fix it or get to a store to buy what you need
Greetings Drae, I actually bought this game b/c of you. Still love it after 40 hrs. of play! :) You are not wrong about this game being pretty difficult. It is a grind for sure! But you are right that salvage is very lucrative! You get goods for sale and even for your truck! Great way to make money with less risk. Lil hint, stay on the "Moon baby" course at first. Well worth it ;) Thanks for all the great content, my friend!
It is a fun aesthetic that helps the experience stay focused. Being too "real" would end up with large empty space with nothing going on, and the real version wouldn't have human pilots anyway.
yeah.. I tried the multiple trailer thing before I found out I needed certification for multi trailer jobs. Air filters were the WORST! I was literally sweating just trying to juggle jobs, truck upkeep and progression. Normal mode is hard mode. Glad I'm not the only one that got pissed off ; ).
I've been playing this game non-stop and It feels like the ship is CONSTANTLY needing replacement parts. I don't think you can't recharge batteries but that would be amazing. Loving the game though, and I can't wait to see what they have planned.
I play on custom mode just to make the parts last longer. Is it cheating? I dunno, but I find it more enjoyable. I really hope they add more customization. And multi-player. I'd love to get a flat nose rig.
Nope no recharging. Just buy more. Check the prices and stock up extra. Do moon baby's quest so you can more easily get free stuff to sell/use. Sell batteries before they are empty at places with high prices. Same with filters and ucc. You'll get there. Right now I'm running around with 2 full containers of 150 cells, and 2 full of air filters, and a full container of uccs.
You can go $2500 in the red. You can technically go even further but a 3 day timer starts where you need to pay it off in 3 days if you go over the $2,500 in red. Also when sitting in the chair to your far right there is an emergency break that lets you stop faster. It's probably key bound to a key on your keyboard. On Xbox controller you push in the left joystick. If you are too cold or you are about to suffocate jump in your space suit. You can drive in your space suit. That will give you a few extra mins.
@bpw102896 same; it feels like a truck when going forward and backwards (to a degree) but at the same time different enough to where my brain doesn't understand how to manipulate the trailer due to the vertical movements and the weird way the trailer responds to your input

@@thekwoka4707 Oh, I agree. Not "high on the list". But options later would be nice. Like . . . adding tow vehicles. "Go three jumps away and tow a damaged truck back to X station. Don't forget their trailer.".
Yeah, I fly through the debris field too, or I use the road but fly over it, still less debris and then cut thru the debris field, depends on where I need to go and what will save the most time, those early delivery bonuses are nice =) And you do start off with an extra filter but don't remember if you already used it or not, and you can sell old depleted filters and batteries. Don't know if there is a way to charge them so been selling them, only like $15 but every little bit helps =)
Just found this channel with the release of Star Trucker, I've really been enjoying the game and wanted to watch some other people play it while I'm at work and I've got to say you are a pretty funny dude. I don't know if it's just your mannerisms or what but you have had me cracking up. Definitely subbed for more Star Trucker but now I'm for sure gonna check out some more of your videos.
The skills that allow you to take more trailers only unlock specific missions in which you have to haul 2-3 trailers. It won't allow you to take 2 trailers from 2 different missions and combine them. Another thing is that you can run on one air filter at a time and in most cases, it's more efficient to have one 90% air filter than 2 60% air filters. Also, the air brake has a hotkey, I don't know what it is on KBM, but gamepad lets you use it without needing to look at the lever with Left Stick Click. Hope this helps! P. S. there's literally no benefit to use highways past immersion. Debris fields are so easy to navigate if you're paying attention and highways usually have insane drivers that insist on ramming directly into you. Also, no way to charge batteries just yet. Hopefully they'll add a way to do it soon.
You don't like going down the highway because there's too much to hit...the glowing huge green thing....as opposed to the small black specs of orbital debris.... You do you boo, I'll continue to watch.
I find driving 1st person easier. I feel I have so much more information in front of me and all the control's are right there. It took me a while to acrually start making money instead of just barely breaking even. The start is really tough
You should cruise around junkyard a bit and see what kinda salvage you can find there's sometimes really good stuff out there and it seems like there should be a lot in that area.
Drae, tou can always buy essential items. You can go extremely into debt for essentials. It can be good for tradinf, aince you can spend the banks monry on air filters and then sell them
You said that your truck was pristine at the end of the video however the hull breach that you never noticed at 27:41 says otherwise. Lol I'm sure you'll notice it during your preplay before recording. Oh and don't forget that level 5 unlocked that sweet flame paintjob! I'm rocking the same one currently, just hit level 9.

@@thekwoka4707 Oh, I agree. Not "high on the list". But options later would be nice. Like . . . adding tow vehicles. "Go three jumps away and tow a damaged truck back to X station. Don't forget their trailer.".
Enjoying this game Drae..….❤
Me yelled at the screen because of the jobs that could of helped you by filtering out the jobs by payout 😂😂
Hi Drae. You have good videos.
To get the shutters fixed, you need to do the side jobs for Sour Candy
I just bought the game, Devs, say Thanks Drae. Ironically, ill be playing it in a semi.
Drae painted his rig in McDonald's Classic 😂
Put black containers on shelves then open them. It'll wedge them in good and tight AND you can access ur stuff without messin'
Yeah, I fly through the debris field too, or I use the road but fly over it, still less debris and then cut thru the debris field, depends on where I need to go and what will save the most time, those early delivery bonuses are nice =)
And you do start off with an extra filter but don't remember if you already used it or not, and you can sell old depleted filters and batteries. Don't know if there is a way to charge them so been selling them, only like $15 but every little bit helps =)
23 minutes ago?? Well of course this is how i want to start my day
God damn dude, im dying laughing at this. Please make more videos of this game. 😂😂😂
I love when he turn full Nicko Avocado...
Well thanks for joining. I’m glad you’re enjoying the content
DUDE ur nearly at 3mill subs and a overall total view count off 1000000000 thats wild KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK❤❤❤
You don't like going down the highway because there's too much to hit...the glowing huge green thing....as opposed to the small black specs of orbital debris.... You do you boo, I'll continue to watch.
yippeee more star trucker
Drae. You had me laughing 🤣🤣. And im definitely laughing at your misery. Good series 👍
Best to do moon baby's quest first. So you can get the scanner and find salvage and mysteries easier.
Drae, tou can always buy essential items. You can go extremely into debt for essentials. It can be good for tradinf, aince you can spend the banks monry on air filters and then sell them
Hey Drae..... Using your air brakes will deplete your O2.....careful there buddy...thats what wesrs the filters out faster lol
Your “warranty” 0:50 is the odometer. You can go to the customize shops
You can lock the crate on the shelves by placing them and opening them
i love you
Soo distracted by the fact that hiccup is driving a truck instead of riding a dragon...
You should try trucking in X4, the highways there really get you going 😂
the signs are lethal on highway
NEW EP LESS GOOOOO
Oh the fun of space
It's not space if you're not hurtling 20k mph in orbit.
For climate, set the temp to moderate and blower to low. If it creeps, step the blower up and later back to low.
long videos are great :3
GOTA BE FAST waching this
