In order to get a ESL emulator programmed you will need to remove your EIS (Electronic Ignition Switch). This video shows you how to get it out when you have a 2012-2014 W204 C-Class. 2008-2011 are similar but with a different steering wheel airbag. If you have a 2008-2011 watch this video instead.

Mercedes Benz Specialist did an excellent job in creating the emulator for my W204 C300. They did not need the ESL only the ignition switch and the key so it does not need to be removed from the column, only unplugged. I did drop the steering column but I am not sure if I even had to do that if I had tried to simply unplug the ESL as it was in the unlocked position. It could have stayed in place as I only needed the ESL plug for the emulator to attach to that Mike created. They had a one day turn around and the price is super right!!

I followed your video. Extremely informative and straightforward. Easy to follow. I’m stuck on getting the bolt off of the wheel. I have a Milwaukee impact but it’s not strong enough. It’s not the kind that’s used in this video. Going to Home Depot tomorrow to get prices on the exact impact used in the video or a breaker bar. Other than than, I will definitely send in my EIS and send it to you! I checked out the price listed on the site and it’s reasonable!
You need a heavy duty impact wrench. The Milwaukee impact wrench I used in the video is $300 at Home Depot. It can be done with 3 foot breaker bar but the risk of stripping the nut is high.

Exactly what size is the hex shank bit?? I’m doing this today however I don’t want to by the attachment and keep going back of the size isn’t correct.

Hey Michael - do you know what the torque nm specs are for a 2019 C300 steering wheel bolt? I want to make sure I torque the steering wheel bolt correctly when I mount my new steering wheel. Thanks!
I do not know the torque spec. Pretty damn tight should do it.
