A good client of mine brought me his 2017 E300 with a misfire on cylinder 1. The diagnosis landed him at a Mercedes Dealership with a bill for $20,000! Mercedes engine M274 has a known problem of the Cylinder 1 and 4 Pistons cracking because a bad wrist pins used on the pistons. Cylinder 1 and 4 run the hottest. That's the reason they fail before cylinders 2 and 3.

If your Mercedes 2008-2014 W204 C207 R172 has a failed Electronic Steering Lock (ESL) in the unlocked position. You don't have to go through the labor of removing the whole steering column. If you're ESL failed in the unlocked position. 100% unlocked. That means you can move your wheels all the way to either side. Additionally, there are no metal clicking noises when you move the steering wheel. Then you're in luck. You can leave the ESL in the steering column. That's right.
