    Just made a batch. Came out great and I’m actually still buzzing from the two bombs I popped 15 minutes ago. I’ll definitely have these before a workout! A few things I’m going to tweak and keep in mind for mine next time: first mine came out much darker than the ones in the video. I only added one tablespoon of the FS matcha and followed exact amounts for everything else. Might use a little less matcha powder next time. Also too much stevia for my taste. I’ll cut that in half next time too.
    You also don’t mention the caffeine in this and while many people might know there’s caffeine in green tea many might not know that matcha has almost half as much as coffee and more than most green teas so you’re getting quite a hit of caffeine especially if you pop two of these.
    I also had a little trouble getting the matcha powder to completely breakup in the melted cocoa butter and coconut oil. I had to tilt the pan a bit back and forth and find the clumps and break them up with my wooden spoon. I think I’ll use a whisk next time and dust the powder in more slowly like I do when making farina or cream of wheat to avoid clumps.
    Lastly, when pouring into the ice trays by the time I got to the last few cubes a lot of the matcha had sunk and concentrated at the bottom of the pot so that last few had ultra matcha. Guess next time I’ll pour quicker or stir again after pouring every 3-4 cubes.

      How long do the cubes stay good? Can I pop them back in the fridge and use them through the week?

    OMG. I finally made these last night and wow! So good. I've been keto since October and was afraid to eat anything with artificial sweeteners, but I added a few drops of liquid stevia and these were amazing. I should not have eaten them at night as I had incredible energy afterwards - but they are so easy and so good and a great way to get your healthy fats and other 25 syllable good things for you that only Thomas can pronounce. Thanks T! Great recipe and awesome video!

    OMG I was at Sprouts one day and bought cocoa butter. Thought it looked like a treat so popped one in my mouth and started chewing. Boy, was I in for a surprise. it is definitely not a treat and i wanted to spit it out. Sadly there was no where to empty my mouth so I had to suck it up, chew, and swallow. ugh I will use the bag to make these though :) Thanks!

    You say saturated fat is bad once it's been oxidized. How does the fat become oxidized and what will happen negatively in the body?

    • @welshdragon2008
      @welshdragon2008 6 років тому

      Fat oxidation is a process by which the stored, giant lipid molecules are broken back down into their smaller parts, triglycerides and fatty acids. ... The larger molecules can't be used as energy by the body, so, they just stack up.

      It looks like cacao butter is simple less processed but is similar enough to be used in the same way. So basically it's more nutrient dense and that seems like it's a better choice.

      Whole milk is about 4% fat by weight. 100% would be sour cream. Beware that even plain yogurt has a significant dose of carbs and protein, and there is not very good evidence how much of the potentially beneficial bacteria actually settles in your gut. I agree with Scott the Truck Driver - yogurt is dessert on a keto diet, not a requirement for health.
