It's very very satisfying to see someone realize their dream this way - totally involved and totally committed. Nick may be the most self-actualized dude on the planet. LOL
Vanishing Point brings back strong memories of when I was 11 years old!! I was hoping you were going to drive it like "Barry", and knock a foreign car off the bridge into the water!! Love your car, and how you put it together. Love your dyno work..
I'm glad I watched this again . That alpine white is really beautiful and the interior perfectly shows off the elegance of the design. I can't find the right words . It's a feeling . It was meant to be . I appreciate being able to view this. Thank you.
And from Youngstown, Florida, great job on restoring this beautiful classic. When I was stationed in Virginia I bought a '70 Challenger that had just come in from the factory a few days earlier. It wasn't a fast car but it was one heck of a lot of fun to drive. Solid red, inside and out, with a white vinyl top and wood grain trim inside. It only had a 318 with a slap stick tranny but on the highway that car was absolutely perfect. Sadly, a nagging -itch of a wife forced me to trade it and I should have divorced her instead! Every time I see a real '70 Challenger I get a sickening feeling my stomach because I really miss that car.
The thing that makes this such a special mopar is the way it was brought back from a basket case to the awesome Challenger it is now. This really says a lot about the level of quality of the work done at Nick's Garage---No compromises,no shortcuts, just stellar work done right! Conratulations to everyone that had a part in this project. Love the test drive! Nick, you showed a lot of control by not melting the polyglas tires in the first run!
I would be so proud. I have never met you,( my loss)? Remember, drive it like you stole it. You are like a kid in a candy store. Enjoy. Absolutely beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing.
I find myself smiling every time I watch this and I feel lot of happiness for Nick, a man I don't know in real life, but thanks to his UA-cam videos, I feel like I've known him for years. What a accomplishment for him and there's nothing like the feeling of achieving one of your long held dreams.
I was surprised those hollow chambers helped quiet the exhaust noise, it sounds sweeeeeet. I'm so glad Nick got this done, it is great to see him enjoy the fruit of his hard work. AND it is especially good that he saved this car from ending up in a junk yard crusher. I can't specifically remember the Kowalski car under hood but every Challenger I have seen under the hood, had a noise reducing pad fastened to the hood. I was surprised this one didn't have it.
Nick, “you the MAN”😇 Thank you for helping gear-heads keeping the muscle machines alive and well on planet 🌏. The Kowaski Challenger’s is more beautiful than when she rolled off the assembly line . I decided to go with the Holley Sniper, new fuel tank with the built in fuel pump , MSD distributor, new long tube Hooker headers on my 55 Belair with the 406, 510 hp , 5 speed stick. This is all possible thanks to your videos which has finally pulled me out of depression after losing my wife April 28th 2021, May she Rest In Peace. Thank you Nick and God Bless. Batman 😎
1970 Challenger with a 426 has always been my dream car. It's great to see a man like Nick being able to give these old cars a new life, more people need to start doing this instead of letting them rot in a field somewhere. Up here in Alberta there's plenty of farmers that let cars like this rot away and refuse to sell them. I'm currently restoring my '91 Chevy Caprice Classic and I'm planning on dropping in a 327. Cheers Nick!
WOW a super long Nicks today, so much to share with us. Many congratulations to Nick for completing his stunning car, and congratulations to all the team for your play button. 👍👍👍
I’ve watched this video a few times now, and when Nick backs his Challenger out onto the street and launches her for the first time, the hair on the back of my neck stands up. Every single time I watch it. This is one of the things I live for being a car guy. Thank you Nick and the fellas for building this amazing car. New cars are nice, but Old School Muscle cars are the best.
I was 6 years old when vanishing point came out. We were poor so my friends and I snuck in the drive in. I loved Mopar every sense that night. So amazing to see this beautiful car come to life. I remember that day so many years ago. Bravo sir. Thank you.
as Nick was commenting on Ivan doing seats rebuild, I was reminded when I worked at truck plant in Oshawa 1986-88. Our seats were manufactured at the Lear Seiglar plant, just down road in Whitby, some 1/2 hour before installation into vehicles. GM logo was "Just in Time". It certainly is a lot more work restoring than being built at factory. I was feeling for Nick working on his own. A new truck or car in plant took a day to build from scratch. We produced 73 trucks an hour so 500 in an 8 hr shift. Even at 1000 per day, the plant could barely keep up with orders.
I'm sitting here in germany, smiling the whole time while watching this episode like if it was my car :))) congratulations Nick - what a perfect car and thank you & the guys who are making these wonderful YT Videos everytime greetings & much respect Andre

Vanishing Point... My favorite movie of all time. I leave the theatre and get into my '70 Challenger and get strait up stupid all over town. I owned 7 of them over the years. 1970 SE 318 cid, '70 Challenger T/A 340 Six-Pack, '70 T/T 440 Six Pack, '70 R/T 383 Magnum with the infamous and sexy pistol grip sifter, just to name a few. If I had even one of them now... I could retire. Great Job, Nick. Thanks for the ride in your time machine!
I used to see these challengers around when I was driving around in my Copo camaro. I don’t have that car anymore. I have a RT 392 Scatpack. I really love the old challengers and it’s a real pleasure to watch you drive your Kowalksi. Big muscle lives.
Congratulations on your beautiful build Nick! It may have taken thirteen months to build but I can tell that you've been thinking about this car for many years. So now you get to drive it, love it, show it, and enjoy it! And if you see any bulldozers on the highway....... just turn around!
Wow!! This project brought back SOOOO many memories, Back in 1976 one of my buddies bought a 1970 Challanger RT/SE, 440 mag, Muncie 4-speed with the pistol grip shifter,Dana 60 rear. What a BLAST to drive!! Just watching you drive it put me right back behind the wheel! !Keep up the great work that you do keeping these cars ON THE ROAD!!!
I had a 1970 Dodge Challenger with a 383 with 425 hp and sublime exterior with white interior! What nice cars they were! Wish I had kept mine! Have fun with yours!
Enjoyed the videos! Found this channel a week ago and have been binge watching since. I'm an Oldsmobile guy but love a great Mopar. If I were close by in Canada I would gladly take my 63 Starfire and have Nick rebuild the 394 in it.
I'm a diehard gm man, but cars are about more than that. Its about passion. I can appreciate the passion you have for the vehicles you build and service. The challenger is a great build. As a suggestion, an x-pipe in the exhaust would smooth out the tone. Cant wait till the next build.
You now have memories that no one person will ever have. Start with a broken dream to motor perfection. You should write a book with plenty of photos so we can read about the restoration and the ride. We all can relive your and our dreams. LOVED that car !!
Grew up watching Vanishing Point, never gets old, fantastic ride you have there, and what a rescue getting it back to its glory, more of this one down the road, pleaee and thanks for a great dreamland show.
Love things like this. Built his dream car the way he wanted it after all these years and you can truly tell he was truly happy with it. It wasn't just any other car it was his car made the way he wanted.
Came into the shop yesterday and I was blown away with the quality and craftsmanship’s that goes into every single vehicle that’s in the shop truly a muscle car dream land keep up the great work !
First year for the 454 was 1970....Love your challenger Nick. A true restoration and not a clean and paint like a lot of people do and claim a restoration.
The second great homage to “Vanishing point”. Death proof star Zoe Bell wanting to get behind the wheel of a car just like this. Now Nick has finally finished building the same beautiful car. Many many happy miles and congratulations.
What make no sense whatsoever in Vanishing Point is the ending. Kowalski is just a car jockey. His job is to deliver a car, nothing more. WTF is he doing taking the car on some sort of a mind trip, and wrecking it?
I remember I was 7 years old when I saw vanishing point at the drive with my dad and mom. My Dad and I had mopars all our life! I had a 1970 Plymouth Cuda 340 4 speed and Geoff Bodines 1972 Plymouth Roadrunner 440. His Brother Brett worked for Miller Automotive Auto Racing in Dushore PA he built the racing chassis for him. Loved my Mopars ! I thought of doing a hemi PT cruiser... I know its been done but it would be cool 😎 Thanks Nick for your channel and inspirational passion for Mopars! 👍
Congratulations Nick, what a special time it is to take that first drive in a machine you have been dreaming about, working on, sweating over and struggling with for what seems like eternity, finally becomes the manifestation of all that passion. Bravo Nick, Bravo.
In my high school days I was wanting a 454 Chevelle El Camino but found a 70’ Roadrunner. I loved that car. Now I’m driving a 2015 Challenger R/T with a pistol grip. I love it😍
Absolutely beautiful Challenger! I could only imagine what it must be like to drive an old Mopar that's brand new! I can't believe it was only 13 months! Love the choices you made for the car, from drivetrain to the wheels, and the use of original parts! The best feeling is when the car is finally finished and driving for the first time! Awesome job Nick! I'm just as happy for you and the Challenger as you are! I enjoyed the journey each week as the car was coming together! Thank you! Now you need another project series LOL! Or an engine build series?

Nick! Boy, what a thrill to see Kowalski on the road! I've watched all the care and attention to detail you've put into this build, and I know it really is the dream of a lifetime for you. You and your camera guy did a fabulous job of showing the finishing touches, lighting up the tires for the first time outside the shop, and taking a ride by the route 440.
Thank you.
todd. Come visit us and we will go for a ride and have a great time.
Damn, this car built, completed and driven put a smile on my face like it was my car.
Good job from Youngstown, Ohio, Nick!!
Loved watching the build over the past months.
Thanks for being with us.
I wouldn't be suprised if Nick's challenger is one of the best car restorations on the planet.
I would be so proud. I have never met you,( my loss)? Remember, drive it like you stole it. You are like a kid in a candy store. Enjoy. Absolutely beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing.
Beautiful car... Congrats on finishing an amazing car... Enjoy it.
Thanks, Gary.
Nick, you've done an amazing job with the car! It's definitely a dream car. So happy for you, I'll bet you can't stop smiling.
I find myself smiling every time I watch this and I feel lot of happiness for Nick, a man I don't know in real life, but thanks to his UA-cam videos, I feel like I've known him for years. What a accomplishment for him and there's nothing like the feeling of achieving one of your long held dreams.
Nick. Ive. Always .like. the movie. And. The Challenger. You. Out. Done. Yourself. Beautiful absolutely. NICE. And. I. Enjoyed .ur. show . You. Taught. Me. Thing. I. Didnt. Know ..thank you
A fine 1970 dodge challenger r&t Barry Newman would be proud to see what a beautiful job you achieved nick well done ..
Mike. Maybe I should install it.
Congratulations Nick on finishing your Kowalski car! Just watch out for those nuts in E-type Jaguars, wanting to trade paint!
I'm sitting here in germany, smiling the whole time while watching this episode like if it was my car :)))
congratulations Nick - what a perfect car and thank you & the guys who are making these wonderful YT Videos everytime
greetings & much respect
Andre
parr. Thanks for watching Andre from Germany.
Nick I can't stop smiling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel like I just went for the first test ride with you. What a JOY to be part of the Nick's Garage fan club.
why cant all garage programmes be like this, No drama or silly story lines. Its just about the cars. keep up the good work nick love from England :)
This is like Christmas morning.
Very happy for you St.Nick
Congratulations on your beautiful build Nick! It may have taken thirteen months to build but I can tell that you've been thinking about this car for many years. So now you get to drive it, love it, show it, and enjoy it! And if you see any bulldozers on the highway....... just turn around!
the greatest gift of mankind is the love and respect from his friends..and good coffee..
Now this is a man who appreciates a muscle car and drives it the way they were driven back then.
Enjoyed the videos! Found this channel a week ago and have been binge watching since. I'm an Oldsmobile guy but love a great Mopar. If I were close by in Canada I would gladly take my 63 Starfire and have Nick rebuild the 394 in it.
Welcome aboard, Mike.
It's the most beautiful car I have ever seen. Just perfect. I am so happy for you Nick.
Eddie. Thank you.
You've reached your Vanishing Point Nick Well done !
Haha! Nick isn't vanishing any time soon! Thanks for watching.
Beautiful challenger the 1970 challenger has been 1 of my top 5 since I was a kid
Holy Crap!!!....That thing is awesome Nick!!!!
Grew up watching Vanishing Point, never gets old, fantastic ride you have there, and what a rescue getting it back to its glory, more of this one down the road, pleaee and thanks for a great dreamland show.
You are the finest machinist (automotive technician) I've ever seen "Congratulations Nick" please keep building dreams!!!
I've watched this video half a dozen times so happy for you, that's every man's, every Gearheads dream right there
Z
Love things like this. Built his dream car the way he wanted it after all these years and you can truly tell he was truly happy with it. It wasn't just any other car it was his car made the way he wanted.
When dreams become reality huh👍
Pure Awesomeness .. well done to all involved
Thanks!
Yes!
Retire. Yes, I know. I should have said it was a later 454 big block.
The second great homage to “Vanishing point”.
Death proof star Zoe Bell wanting to get behind the wheel of a car just like this.
Now Nick has finally finished building the same beautiful car.
Many many happy miles and congratulations.
I cringed when they hammered those works of art ...in both movies!
@@billconservative9503 In Vanishing Point the car that plowed into the bulldozers was a Chevy Camaro so not a huge loss.
Now I gotta watch it again 😁
@@kevaninthe4135 i didnt know that, i think i can watch it again
What make no sense whatsoever in Vanishing Point is the ending. Kowalski is just a car jockey. His job is to deliver a car, nothing more. WTF is he doing taking the car on some sort of a mind trip, and wrecking it?
Congratulations Nick I Shed Some Tears of Joy When You Were Cruising In Kowalski 😀😀😀😀
I love it😍
I think the pistol grip shifter is my fav too Nick.
Nick didn't have to make any choices on the car's outcome. He did a great job of copying the factory Kowalski Challenger.
You know it’s serious when Nick is in awe of his own work...I also love how the street is just lit up from tires frying...
Everytime we go wheeling in Moab, we always stop at the sight of the last scene in VP.
Then we always seem to watch the movie when we're in camp.
So now you've a fan, not to mention all the rest of the gorgeous momento's of our time!
From a mother of a son that loves challengers. I must say WOW that was awesome! You can tell you are very happy, It is perfect!
I love how every time you shifted the wheels chirped. Amazing car Nick!
She turned out looking great Nick, I could see in May when I visited that it was going to be a very well built car and you did not disappoint. Enjoy it and drive it like you stoll it man!!
Awesome car Nick! Sounds like a sleeper and runs like a monster! Great job! Old School Rocks!
yeah, sounds like a sleeper??????????????????? its a cackling ,cammed 440 and sounds like a badass
@@trillrifaxegrindor4411a quiet cackle..... yes not real obvious up front the the average joe... yes I can hear the cam. but most wont recognize it, so yes a sleeper
You can tell just how proud Nick is of his Kowalski. He is like a 20 year old with his new toy. Bravo Nick bravo. Absolutely stunning rebuild and it looks just perfect, this is coming from a Ford man.
Nick your Car is Amazing. You must be proud of everyone who helped in this build.
She's a beauty Nick, I know you're proud of her!! Congrats!! I love it!
Congratulations Nick! On your UA-cam achievement and the car! They don't make guys like Nick anymore.
Thanks, Kay.
Wow you didn't mess around with this amazing build, looks so good and sounds the part too! Excellent work.
This was a really great episode, and I'm sure that everyone who had a part in this build must have a big smile on their face. I know that getting this car finished up and on the road was a really special day for you. And by the way, we share a birthday, so Happy Birthday from Alberta! I hope I'll be able to stop by the shop some Saturday afternoon and say hello.
Astonishing piece of film history from one of the most Iconic chase's on TV. What an extremely nice car.....Congratulations.
Ive watched this movie over 20 times maybe 30 it never gets old, I wish the car ran forever.
That Kowalski Challenger is sweet. From a movie I watched a half a million times when I was younger.
I don't know what I would do around all those nice Mopars.
"Here we go!"
"Put it through its paces!"
It's beautiful, Nick!
13 months of work!
Those Polyglas tires can't get hooked.
Hi, Nick I want to wish happy success in winning the UA-cam award. You made me shed tears of joy, when you drove the Kowalski Challenger. Keep up Great work. Im getting ready to retire from the US Army Reserve early next year. I try to let when I can visit you and talk with you.
Thank you Nick.
so happy for you i almost cried
After 13 months!, I would be crying of joy Nick ! all the pain u went through, from the start , working on it, to the final product !
So excited for nick knowing how a project completed feels soon as I seen this everything here stopped
Mr.Nick, congratulations on the Kowalski project car, it is a beautiful car, you and your crew worked so hard it only took 13 months to complete, i can feel the joy and excitement, from Texas, love your videos, well done.
Greetings from Brazil´s mopar fans. Beautiful, amazing work! You deserve! Your passion and dedication deserves all our respect. Congratulations Nick.
