- During my 2012 Pale Ride trip I visited some Vanishing Point movie locations in Cisco UT, Green River UT, Hanksville UT and Austin NV.
Accompanied by 2 other Challengers and a schoolbus. - Авто та транспорт
I've been a Vanishing Point fan since 1971...that was very cool with the movie references...great job...thanks for posting...
Nice job. That must have been time consuming to put the film with your actual travels. VP made such an impression on me at 17 years of age back in 1971. I now own a 2020 R/T so your tastes never change over the decades.
Mopar! I miss my 70 Charger R/T I had back in 1979. At least I can get a ride in my sons 2022 Wide body orange Shaker hood 6 speed Challenger.
Love to see so much research and effort to find these historic places. I bought a used '70 RT Convertible 383 auto in '72. Saw VP and had it painted white! I drove it all over the US to the west coast and down to Mexico (I'm Canadian). Good times! The girl on the bike was Gilda Texter, a girlfriend of one of the production crew. Sadly, later, my own brother commited suicide (nothing to do with the movie). That put a damper on the whole 'take your life thing' in VP for me because it so hurts the people left behind. I still think the movie is Brilliant.
Gilda Texter was Paul Koslo's (young cop) girlfriend at the time. It was one of only about three movies she acted in. She actually became a costume designer after a while.
Great job!!
Awesome video
I love your video of the locations and taken from your challenger. I purchased my first 70 RT challenger last month and plan to take it out to Cisco soon. There is a strong pull within me to see it as you did. My car isnt white but instead Sublime. Ever since 1971 when I saw VP in the theatre, Ive wanted one. Now its about the experience and trip to Cisco. Thank you for your video once again.
paint it white
Stanton Wyman paint it white
When I first saw vanishing point I had a MOPAR fit
So freakin cool. I just saw some of my favorite places again.
I found this awesome clip before I did my drive out that way last 4th of July. The video was huge helping navigate through. Thanks for the great video
Great video! Thanks for sharing!
Excellent !
Great job , I know that was a blast to do , to see all the places , so awesome that so much is unchanged landscape wise
Wonderful video!! Thanks for great job PALE RIDER! My eyes started to sweat :-P
"Get thru'em baby" Super Soul
I love black & white
I owned a 72 challenger they were not as kool as the 70’s but still had classic style and power bulge hood , 340 magnum instead of the 440 , now I have a 2008 zo6 with 700 hp to the wheels , I’m good 😊😊
The gas station in Cisco Utah is collapsing in on itself and prob will be completely caved in within a year or two. I was just there in Sept of 2019 and will get there this spring or early summer.
Sad losers have tagged Cisco and painted it all up, what is left of it. Can someone please help out, Ive been to just about all the locations but cant find the girl on motorcycle location near Hanksville, be going near there in several weeks and want to check it out but cant find exact location??? thanks
used to own a 70 challenger back in early 80's in dallas and yes it was white RT with the 440 mag , pistol grip 4 spd , sold the car to buy a dam house !
Nice work, great job on syncing the videos.
Fantastic! Great work!
This is awesome, thanks for sharing.
Excellent video!!! very very cool!!!
I see @ 8:30 the old church is still there where two kids came running to see the cops chasing Kowalski
Always wondered about the locations, thanks for posting.Great video.
The director asked Dodge for help in the film. As you can see there are many different MOPARs. Even a few 1970 Roadrunners dressed as Fury's but they are RR. Plus a few more if you watch closely. Richard Saraifain and Richard Zanuck worked on the film.
awesome! thank you soo much!!! Great video
That was awesome, as was your whole trip
AWESOME!!!
Thank You!! This is great
Very cool! Thank you!
i love it! you make my day!
Finally headed to Cisco in a couple weeks. Doing a Salt Flats/National Park/Vanishing Point vaca. Sucks I can't bring either of my Challengers.
great video!
In a word...Awesome.
Well done uber cool!
That was awesome.
See you're into it. I saw this in the theatre when I was 20 working for Georgia Power. I had a 1968 Roadrunner. The Monday after this movie I went to Atlanta Plymouth Dodge traded that beautiful Midnight Blue Roadrunner for a brand new 1970 Ralley Red Dodge Challenger with black trim(they did not have white) 440 6pack 4 SP Dana rear with air. $4238.68. I got it for $4000.00 with trade. Its a wonder I did not get killed. BY any of the cars I had back then. I kept it 3 years then went on to fast boats and pickup trucks
Geo HVL so you basically lost your mind , to go to boats and pick up trucks 😩
Good job on your research of film locations but miss out on Goldfield, NV.
Agree
I have not seen this movie since it was in the theatre. I has haunted me.
At the end when you turned right, didnt you head north towards I80?
Yep, 305 north.
@@66PaleRider Did you happen to find the actual location for the "girl on motorcycle" scene just outside of Hanksville?
Nope.
We did pass Hanksville and found the spot where the Jag crashed (although the bridge is gone), but that's it.
@@66PaleRider ...found it. its about 20 miles north of Hanksville on a road called Temple Mtn Rd just off Hiway 24.
Lots of film locations in that area. 20 miles further north on Old State Rte 24/1007 off Hiway 24, part of the Jag chase scene was shot.
Wow, what a boring road, no wonder Kowalski was popping pills.
Shooting your video in black-and-white almost a negative was an extremely poor choice.
