After years of hard work helping other people with their dream cars, it's time you enjoy your own dream car. Well deserved Nick, enjoy!!
Who on earth could blame Nick for smoking tires or making some pulls? That's a beautiful machine made out for driving it the hard way! congrats Nick!
The first time I watched "Vanishing Point" I was in my step dads '68 Road Runner at a drive-in in 1971.
Now, that is a great way to see that film.
Very cool memory Johnny!
Good car to see a drive in , lots of room. I miss drive in theaters. I was hoping Covid would bring them back.
I saw that movie at the drive in in '71 with my '74 'Cuda.........no wait. Damn mushrooms. Well, that movie is burned into my ROM anyway - timeless. 🚗
@@cuda426hemi lol , a few more years and that memory will seem just as real as anything else.
Hi Nick, I've been watching your channel from the United Kingdom for quite a few years. Your Challenger is still my favourite of all the many cars you have worked on. Hope you and George keep posting the great videos for many years to come. Oh yes, and have fun in your Challenger!
When your in a Challenger with 450hp. There’s no driving it like “a normal person”. LOL.
Haha!
*looks at my 69 road runner with its hemi* I can vouch for this.
I thought burning rubber WAS normal for this kind of machine. Are you telling me it isnt?
With a car that sweet, I’d drive it like I stole it. Do a few donuts, in a safe area away from kids.
Then, knowing my Irish 🍀luck, the police will pull me over😒😕
My brother just finished his 72 Nova with a BUILT 427 and 4 speed. One of his first burn-outs he ripped the 4 link mount off of the rear suspension!
Drive it like you stole it.
Nick's time machine.... suddenly it's 1970 again! Hard to believe what what a few thousand dollars could get you fifty years ago...
"I'll just drive it like a normal person" - people don't understand how hard that is to do when you have a big block under your foot and a pistol grip in your hand :)
I hear that brother
Well, I'm pretty sure a normal person would drive it fast
Hi Nick. I'm 61 and I'm from Minnesota, and I just want to say how proud I am of you! Thank you for showing us old Mopar Lovers that the dream is still alive in us! Peace my friend. Tommy
Nick changed the stumble into a rumble. Kowalski is the perfect restoration and a driver too! Beautiful work Nick! Congratulations on a dream come true.
Sound of the engine when it decelerates is pure gold!!! Glad you are happy with this carb!
Couldn't agree more!
Reminds me of the orange engine in my 69 charger, duel exhaust , With Trish glass packs that ended , even with the back of the doors ! It had a crane racing cam installed, 3.55 rear gear, 757 on the counsel, buckskin bucket seats, boy did she sound and run even better, I was 16 yrs old, first I drag raced it , at the stop lights, headed south on Blackhawk Blvd , south Beloit IL , a 73 red and black 455 SD , him and his friends were laughing as he smoked the tires , as we waited for the green light, my leg was shaken like leaf, I thought I was toast, when the green hit , off we went, I couldn't see him, he was like 10 car links back, so I let off, and as I did he, went by ! I punched again and went by him with ease ! That dodge made me so proud, what a car , thnx for the memory Nick !!!
Beautiful job, Nick. First Kowalski car that I've seen actually done right.
Good Morning Nick, A perfect way to start a Monday, a hot cup of coffee, some awesome Mopars, and Nick's Garage.
Good morning, sir. The only thing that could make it better would be seeing your Charger 500 waiting for you to take it for a spin after the coffee. Thanks for joining us!
@@NicksGarage I totally agree with you, and hopefully that will happen in the near future. Awesome job on the video George, very informative, entertaining, and expertly done. Your beard looks awesome, and getting longer just in time for winter. I'm always up for another episode of Nick's Garage.
@@eugenecastles7475 looking forward in seeing your restored muscle car. It will a sight to see when it's all said and done. Seventies muscle cars still catch my eye to this day. Some the best muscle car designs of the twentieth century.
@@marcushume2240 I'm looking forward to seeing the Charger completed just as much as everyone else. There have been some delays, but we are living in a different world right now and the setbacks are just part of what we have to live with. I'm so looking forward to getting behind the, and taking a nice long cruise, and enjoying the thrill of feeling young again.
I really appreciate the attention to detail on this car.
Got to sweat the small stuff.. and Nick still has a list of things he wants to get to.
the car sounds great sir
Next video: Nick takes his sweetheart to the root beer stand. That was a part of owning these cars back in the 70's. Gotta hit the root beer stand.
Don't forget the teen burger eh. LOL
I bet he doesn't hang the serving tray on the window or door. LOL
Must be a Canada thing , I’m 63 and I’ve never heard of a root beer stand , luncheonettes and egg creams I do remember as a kid.
All the old guys with the really fast (wheelies and 9-10 second quarter miles) 60-70's muscle around here congregate at the A&W on cruise night. Tradition.
@@bluecollar58 I'm in Wisconsin......southern Canada!!!! LOL
That's great Nick. That beautifully restored carburetor on your your 440 sounds and preforms pretty amazing. Idols and purrs like a kitten and roars like a tiger. You got yourself a brand new show room car. Your smile seals the deal. You deserve it Nick. Really is a amazing accomplishment for you and your amazing team of friends. I hope you enjoy it for many years to come. Great video George. Thank you for sharing.
Nothing like the roar of that 440 Magnum and tires smoking to start off a Monday morning! Thanks Nicks Garage 👊
Thank YOU!
I just finished work...its 4:40PM and I'm watching Nick work on his 440. I'm a happy man :D
The sound gives me goose bumps, what a Monday morning. Thanks Nick
Nick knows what he wants and doesn’t stop until he achieves his goals. You just got to respect a guy like Nick. The Kowalski Challenger is a fantastic car. I love the stance it has romping up and down the street. The car is tough!
36:06 That is the reason I came for at this channel. Seeing Nick building and enjoying his dreams. And for the sound from a 440 engine driven hard. Love your attitude. Stay safe and healthy. Cheers from Germany. Yours Ulf
Nick she's a beauty you did a phenomenal job on the car
You did an excellent job building your '70 Dodge Challenger R/T Kowalski tribute car Nick and it surely does sound as great as it looks! Thanks for posting all your excellent videos too!
Jack. Thank you.
Nick, I love your meticulousness with everything you do. It speaks to the person you are. There is no need for apologies. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience with us.
I love your 70 Challenger, I'll almost bet you like driving that more than your Hellcat.
Scott. I do like to drive it more than the Hellcat.
Nick said something like; "I drive the '70 Challenger R/T, the Hellcat Challenger drives You"
@@MontrealMan1970 . That is correct.
This brings back memories of working on all the Chrysler products my Dad and Brothers owned! 🙂✌🏻🇺🇸🇨🇦
Mopars just get better with family.
Love the sound of that 440. Best motor Chrysler ever made. Great material Nick. You're the best!
I miss the 440 in my 68 charger
Wicked that Nick finally got time to work on his own car!
I love it Nick! "A man and his dream car". Makes me smile to see you smile and talk about the Kowalski..true passion in your voice. It took time but you did a fantastic job building her and it was awesome for your viewers to see step by step..thanks to YT!
Beautiful Nick. Having run a lot of Mopar cars in my day, 440 Dart, 440 4 speed Road Runner, 383 4 speed Road Runner, 340 Dart, wheel hop was always a problem. A cheap pinion snubber was the solution. The burnouts in an industrial area brings back great memories. Thank God you went with the original carter carb. Super easy to dial in.
Super Stock Springs ends wheel hop !
thankyou Nick for being a regular guy and just doing a fantastic job
Good morning Nick, for those of us who haven't finished our dream car yet, it's a pleasure and an inspiration to ride with you, you worked hard for it!!!!! Love your show!!!!!
Fantastic start to the week. Awesome seeing the 70 !
This car is so perfect in so many ways... That interior and dash are just incredible. I will throw in my favorite Kowalski movie line: 'Maybe it's just my nature'
Thank you Nick. I’ve watched this a dozen times. I got to live the dream with you! Thank you Nick. True Muscle at its finest. I saw the power on Woodward Ave in 76’, a kid curious from Findlay, Ohio. Wow, that fulfilled my soul!
There is nothing as genuine and speaks Mopar like a pistol grip shifter!
That is a beautiful car you have done an excellent job. I hope you keep it forever. I saw Vanishing Point more times than I can remember
God Bless you, Nick and what a passion and love you have for these unique cars and even more importantly, you followed your dream in owning this beautiful example of American muscle car history. As a car guy, I salute you and like yourself, I'm trying to bring my dream car to reality and hopefully one day I'll be standing next to it completed, like you are to yours. Great way to enjoy my morning coffee and escaping the realities of life, by watching an update from you.
Thanks again and drive that beautiful Challenger!
Nice 1970 Challenger Nice👍 you finally got the right caborator and from watching runs like a dream nice 👍
So glad you realized and built your dream car. It’s beautiful.
My dream car when I was a teenager, was a 1970 Chevelle 454. I bought one when I was 23, drove it daily for 3 years, then took 7 years to restore it. It wasn’t all correct, it was a tribute car, but I felt I realized my dream. Sold it after owning it for 23 years.
Funny how dreams change. My new dream is to own an original Mopar. What kind? I don’t know. I can’t make up my mind.
I’m learning so much from watching your channel. I can tell you put as much attention into your channel as you do your cars. Thank you sir!!!
Nick, I Love this episode! I'm a Mopar or Nocar also. It's really special when driving the car you actually built with your hands. Keep them videos coming!!! OUTSTANDING WORK NICK,
THANK YOU
Absolutely BRILLIANT.. I'm sure someone pointed it out already, driver rear tire needs a once over, could just be the tire. Seems to go a little more after each rip. Love it Nick!!
Forgot to mention I am from Lima Peru , lived in Calgary and Vancouver in 1986, watch every one of your videos , lots of good tips thank you man
That sounds and looks like a very sweet ride!
My dream car, since I saw American Graffiti, is an Arctic White '57 T-Bird.
I'll never live long enough to get one. My Prius is broke bad and I'm still working on it as often as I can. I got sick today before I could go out and retrieve my dead 12v battery.
I rebuilt the Main Battery and verified it is good. Exchanged the Inverter/Converter, Master Cylinder, AC Compressor, tested the start-up contactors and relay, Resister. Everything in regard to the Main Battery is perfect. I still get the same message as before: Check the Hybrid Charging System, pull over into a safe place.
I checked the oil, cooling system, and the 12dc provided by the convertor, and the output from the Main Battery under the hood. So no wires are shorted or opened. I will have a professional code reader on Tuesday and see if it helps with resetting some less important errors. I don't know, if the 201.6 vdc is under the hood, then the fuse in the maintenance block is also good. All of the output voltages from the inverter is correct. Yet the I.C.E. refuses to start. IDK.
I am extremely happy that you have your dream car, and it doesn't stutt t t e r ... Anymore. Lol...
awesome you guys !! nothing like driving your car or dream car on a warm summer night !!
So proud of you Nick, another amazing build. Could watch you work all day.
Well, I hope Max got the message. Loved watching you remove the paint from those screws. You have a vision and nothing is getting in the way of that.
Thank you for the burnout Nick 👍 have a great time guys
No problem 👍
My all time favorite car movie also. Love that car
So in my mind to go from a basket case to a stunning Challenger is quite a feat !well done Nick.
Nothing beats playing with a CLEAN motor!
I know what its like to build your dream car. I was able to buy back my first car almost three years ago after 21 years gone. It's a 72 Mustang fastback. It was in terrible condition but I spent almost 10 months bringing it to life. It still needs a paint job but I drove it to work today. I'm a teenager every time I start the engine. It's a 4 barrel Cleveland with FMX auto transmission. Your car looks wonderful Nick.
That's is one sharp Challenger Nick ! Congratulations on finishing up your dream car! As hard as you work , you certainly deserve it!
Really like your videos Nick!
Thanks for keeping it real.
Thanks for watching!
Nick I really appreciate how picky you are. I am the same way. It shows attention to detail but even more important is it is a sign of quality high professionalism in your work. Thank you sir. I enjoy your channel.
Man that car is awesome ! I always wanted one since I saw the movie. I can hear Super Soul on the radio now!
I saw the movie, great movie. Love your restoration. I wish I had one like that. Nothing like a great muscle Mopar car.
I saw Vanishing Point at the drive-in when it first came out. It has always been one of my all-time favorite movies and that Challenger is my all-time favorite car. That one is a beauty Nick. I love it. Peace, Love and 440s.
I owned a 1970 SE/RT 440 Challenger.... I sure do miss it. Nice car Nick. Safe Travels
Can't get enough of your dream car videos and vlogs!! That's my dream car also.
Nick, this video made me laugh and smile. Love your passion. Awesome video George. The sound of the exhaust note was killer. Love it! Had to wait 'till I got off work to watch it. Put my pink Nick's Garage t-shirt on and cranked up the volume!! Purrrfect!
The car looks and sounds awesome that was my very first car I owned at 16 years old brings so many good vibes . Thank you Nick for all the great episodes that you bring to us in UA-cam land from a Lavalois subscriber.
I love your attention to detail, Nick! My late Dad was a founding father at Direct Connection in the early 1970s and I’ve been a Mopar purist since day one.
Nicks step by step narration is superb.
I’m always been in love with the 70 Challenger , it’s my dream car also 😍
Good taste!
i share nicks excitement. u def deserve her big guy. can't wait to finish building up my 70 charger rt one day.
Beautiful Challenger there Nick, i can see you LOVE it, i will be 66 in a few months and remember when those 'muscle' cars roamed the streets, not as fast and dont handle like the new ones but they need to be compared to others from that day not cars 50 years newer. Nice to see you have some fun with it once in a while
Absolutely beautiful car Nick 👍😁❤️
Good morning Nick and crew. Great video of Nick enjoying his passion. Man does not live by technology alone. George, great video and editing as always.
I had the same problem with a T-Bird I owned, (squeaky brake pedal). You can spray all you want, LOL
It's the booster that's the problem, as you can tell as you pump the pedal while the engine is off, it goes away.
You did a good job on it!! I had a 70 383 r/t that i LOVED....Great to see her out again!
Nick, as perfect as Vanishing Point is, I am still in love with the idea of a Hemi under the hood! If the number matching 440 is going on display anyway, and the current motor is a just test bed, why not go the ultimate distance for the Challenger and Hemi power plant built by Nick’s Garage? It would be breathtaking! Merci, mon ami…
The last time I changed a carburetor ALMOST that fast was on a Briggs and Stratton.
Dick Daily - I agree - with the number matching 440 on a display stand, the car would be even more fun with a hemi under the hood. Nick's "Keeper" 426 Hemi was supposed to go in this, but Nick sold his elephant engine to one of his customers. The car is amazing either way, though. The 440 HP is no slouch.
Bleh. Ill take a cammed up 440 with headers any day of the week.
But that would not give them the extra content they will need in the up coming months.
Why not restore another car ? Like a plumb crazy HEMI CUDA ?
That would be worth the cost as the content would last for at least two years.
I can understand the “Keeper” being sold for big bucks to offset the incremental cost of a restoration. There are more Hemi engines out there than U model, number matching Challengers. Content is a fleeting mistress to these creators as the eyeballs will vary with every video. Nick has the influence with his audience to explain his plan, record the search for the engine, bring it back to the garage and begin the rebuild step by step with factory precision. The original 440 is sitting quietly in the shop under cover now. Just switch the focus to the Hemi instead. I would be glued to the channel. Besides, what does Nick excel at and enjoy doing most of all?
Such a beautiful car, Only in my wildest dreams.
Beautiful job Nick! So glad the stumble is gone.
Check out the tire tread at 32.35 time frame. Something is running out. The rim or the tire.
Old tires.
Nick's STILL livin' my dream !! So happy for you Nick !! You've worked long and hard for this and deserve every inch of that smile on your face !!
Nick I think every gear head has his dream car.
For me mine is a 1970 1/2 Camaro with a 350/300Hp 4 speed with a Hurst shifter and Cranberry red. I bought this car new . It is literally my dream car. I have had at least 15 dreams of it.
I would be ether finding my original and restoring it or finding a car to make a clone of it . I know at 70 years old l will never have it . But I am very glad Nick you have yours.
I remember back in the late 60s early 70s every Friday-Saturday Night you would hear the tires/engines roar from the stoplights throughout North Seattle, I was just a kid, but I knew what I wanted.
Looks like there’s something up with the tail lights. The right side bulbs shine through the lens. Could just be a camera angle thing. Nick would care about that. I wouldn’t.
Great episode. No one around but nick ! Lol.
Thanks for allowing us to come along.
The movie “Vanishing Point” is one of my favorites, as the Dodge Challenger may be my favorite car. I have watched that movie numerous times, and I have the DVD handy just in case. I always wanted one of the earlier Challengers like your 1970, but instead after buying many Ford Mustangs over the years after watching the movie “Bullitt” finally bought a new 2019 Challenger GT with a V6, 8 speed automatic and 305 HP. Absolutely love the car, its performance, all the modern conveniences, and the way it handles. It is beauty in motion, and gets great gas mileage on the highway. Kowalski would be jealous! Dodge, you rock!!! Thank you Nick for this great video, and enjoy that beautiful car!
Have a good spring guy replace the lowest rear leaf with a damn thick one. Will look stock and will likely cure wheel hop. Sorta like a traction bar does. 😀👍
Nick's Garage Every Monday is on the cards This week Nick is talking carbs Nick's 70 Challenger is tip top in the alpine white it's the cream of the crop A tribute to the movie Vanishing point and testament to the quality of work in Nick's joint It's Nicks dream car but with a hesitant carb it won't get very far so Nick is taking the time to make it run fine so the power delivery will be sublime Not to have it run perfect would be a crime
Always slamming, Roberto! Thanks much.
@@NicksGarage Bless your hearts I'm just about up to the point where Nicks Challenger starts
Thank you Mr Nick. I’ve learned so much from you about American Muscle Classic Cars. I wish you much blessings including health many years to come Sir Nice.💯🙏🏼🍻
Sweet ride Nick. I just acquired an 81 G body Monte Carlo to make a toy out of. Already have a real 400 sb bored .040 over with aluminum heads and intake. 10 to 1 forged. Steel crank. And a real original dual line 750 Holley to feed it. Keep em going. 👍
Bravo for keeping an AVS! They are simple, reliable, and effective carburetors.
Yes indeed!
Doesn’t edelbrock now make a new and improved AVS? I think it’s the AVS 2. I’d like to get my hands on one.
@@deggs1975 I could be wrong but I believe they do.
That is one sweet, killer automobile you’ve got there Nick. Your attention to detail is second to none. Best of luck🍀 with it. Hope to make it up there as soon as they open the border and I’m able to get up there.
Nick’s Challenger is such a nice special car. What a build! Wish it were mine.
Most people would have taking it to Barret Jackson , and never hammered on it , love the fact your enjoying it , great build
It's official kowalski is my favorite car I've seen you build!!
Back to the great Chrysler content . Along with all the Chrysler goodies in your shop the Challenger is one of my favorites.
man ,that 440 just sings like a sweet, sweet angel
Nick drives his car with confidence and zeal!....because HE built it right!
Great video Nick. Had an instant smile on my face and a tingle on the back of my neck when you "Hit It" the first time. Thanks...
Thanks for sharing your video with us Nick. I hope you do a video some day when you are driving out on the highway going to a car show. What a gorgeous Mopar Nick! Well done.
THANKS NICK FOR BRINGING BACK THE GOOD OLD DAYS AND FAST CARS COOL VIDEO
Oh, how i miss my 70 roadrunner 383 pistol grip. I bought a 426 wedge to drop in it. Basket case. But i was buying a billet crank out of a top fuel funny car. Insanity out of Hayward California. It was spinning bearings at 10k rpms. I wasn't planning to go anywhere near 10k. I helped the driver/mechanic put the (Insanity, Corvette body style) Hemi together before they hauled it to Canada and ran the 1st under 6 second run ever recorded
The board flashed 5.82 , then it went blank. Came back up with 6.02. They screwed him out of the record. Things you never forget! Love your channel and your Challenger. Cheers
Great channel, great content, and the passion here is infectious.... Please keep posting your videos Nick's Garage!!!!!!!!!!!!
She's a beauty, Nick! Well done sir.
Wow Nick, that's the most awesome Challenger i've ever seen plus it's a "Kowalski" version doubling the coolness factor! I love how every detail is loyal to the movie car. I did notice that the left rear driver side tire seemed out of balance, maybe check it. I love it and you deserve it for all your hard work and dedication. Thanks for sharing this amazing car with us!
All have to say Nick is that's one SWEEEET RIDE!!
