I never thought the white colour keyboard would show less dirt and grime. My next keyboard will be white.
Ya... same... I was surprised... actually another commenter once pointed that out to me and I realized they were right (at least in my case)
It probably has a durable slip clear paint on it. White always gets dirty.
They just made this board better
Dirt or dust appears as white dots apparently
You could always you know, clean it, wipe it down. Just sayin’. Nothing more gross to me than filthy tech. 🙄
@@inkivamp6394 For example Smart keyboard folio material gold filthy even with care. I always take care of my tech yet the keyboard looks horrible.
My magic keyboard is nearly two years old and has aged pretty well but the material they used to cover it is not great. I applied a Dbrand leather cover which helped a lot and gives it character. Great video.
Many thanks for these “Long Term” reviews. Appreciated 😊
Thank you for the video Chris! What is the minimum spec build you'd recommend buying for editing video/photo on the IPad Pro?
Love the videos. Thanks.
I have the combo touch, it also uses the iPads battery - it doesn’t have its own battery.
Love the magic keyboard. But, just because of the weight, I'm thinking on change it for the smart keyboard folio + external mouse or trackpad. More portable, more versatile.
any thoughts?
Great video @Dailytekk! thanks for sharing
Love the magic keyboard with my ipad 12.9
This combo has been with me through many meetings and flights.
Would love to know more about how you use both your iPad Pro and Remarkable 2 in your daily work.
Just wanted to say thanks for the video. I was pondering buying this for after spending 6 years with the magic keyboard folio, and stumbled on a 40% deal (!!!!) on Amazon.
Kinda nice that this will fit my 2018 iPad pro and will work on the M2 pro once I finally upgrade
I'm loving my secondhand M1 iPad Pro 11 and also treated myself to a secondhand Magic Keyboard from eBay. I got a great deal and I agree it just fits better in the space than fold out back type keyboards. It is heavy but I understand the whole balance thing so... Another great video. Thank you.
Same! I have an Apple refurb M1 iPad Pro + Amazon renewed MK and it’s awesome
2nd hands are the best when it comes to apple devices. you get them at 60-30% less the price but you still get 99% of the experience and quality etc
I was late to the Magic Keyboard game! I tried several different types of keyboards before finally giving in and trying the Magic Keyboard for my 12.9”…. And I was amazed! I love this keyboard! So much so I bought one for my 11”
I have both of these as well, black and white. I have noticed that the back light on the black one turns on before the white one even in the same location. Have you noticed the same? Thank you.
I just was thinking about this today actually. One thing I wish would change is the way scrolling is handled with Universal Control when using the iPad Magic Keyboard connected to a Mac the trackpad scrolling in Safari doesn't have the inertia so it is hard to use. I have two Mac desktop setups (office and home) and was wanting to use the iPad with Magic Keyboard between the two without needing a keyboard and mouse for the Macs. I thought it would be a great setup for my workflow! But sadly the scrolling is a deal breaker for that setup. I keep hoping they'll slide it in with an update but have tried and been let down literally every update...
Great review! I am definitely going to get a Magic Keyboard from my new iPad Pro once the 2024 model is released.
Keep up the great work!
Hi… do you feel I should upgrade to the newer one? I have a IPad Pro M1 (with Magic Keyboard) in the 11 inch size. Never complained about the size of the keyboard (as to view the keyboard has all keys very nearby to each other but while typing they don’t have accidental presses whatsoever) or the size of the device as I am always on stage manager with my external monitor (32inch 4K) and I only use the device stand alone only when I am not in my office… my use case is very simple but if iPad OS 18 has more mac like features to offer for the M3, I would feel like switching over… what are your thoughts and market speculations?
Same! I don't see a reason to upgrade. I love my M1 Pro and I LOVE the Magic Keyboard!
The white is great! And black, they both have a quince touch on ipad 1 💀💀
Hey Chris, I’m a big fan watch all your shows is there anyway you can tell me the weight of the 11 inch previous Apple magic keyboard that goes with my M2 iPad Pro 11 inch thanks buddy
I barely use the Magic Keyboard Combo due to the small trackpad and lack of function key row. The small trackpad use hurts my wrists as I have to use my hands at a very awkward angle.
I also find this Apple product very difficult to use on my lap, as it is not as stable as a MacBook laptop. I've tried Logitech's version, but for on the lap the rear support flap on the legs is very, very uncomfortable. Even with a large lap board the Logitech can barely fit on the board.
It will be interesting to see what the new iPad Pro Magic Keyboard Combo offers. I know the iPad Pro is not a laptop, but let us hope that Apple improves the usability of the next version of their iPad keyboard!
How long have you had the keyboards?
I wanted a tablet due to the benefits tablets have over laptops (iPADOS, touch screen, lightweight, ability to work while holding the device with one hand etc.). I've never had any desire to try and make my tablet a laptop. Dictation and the on screen keyboard, is good enough for me when away from home. A bluetooth keyboard (MX Keys Mini) and mouse (MX 3) sits on the desk at home for heavy duty work. Enjoyed the video! 👍🙏
Currently using the black one, and I think is best than the white one
can i use the latest magic keyboard with my old ipad pro12.9?plese help!
I have the 12.9” iPad Pro, M2 chip. I had it engraved with my name. Six months later it stopped working. They sent me a new one that wasn’t engraved and with nothing on the disk. They didn’t attempt to salvage anything from the original. I feel like the iPad Air is more of a computer than the iPAD, but I’d probably go for a Surface instead.
Did anyone else hate the Magic Keyboard. The keyboard was so clunky and wouldn’t press sometimes. Plus moving the cursor on the track pad was a pain. Having to click 2 or 3 times to select an item
Do you think the black is dirtier because you used it more than the white???
The black shows smudges and marks up more than the white, simply just from the material and matteness of it. I’ve used both colors - and I’m a fanatic when it comes to keeping my devices & accessories clean. It really is just a matter of the material the keyboard is made from and the black showing marks more because of that. Think of it like a white car on salt-treated roads in the winter versus a black one. You know the white car has just as much residue on it as the black one does - it just doesn’t show it.
Have been using the Logitech Combo Touch for 2,5 years and liked a lot about that (the better all around protection and the detachable keyboard for example). But I have to say: after two years the rubber around the edges started to come apart and I fear it might not work much longer. So from an long time investment standpoint the Magic Keyboard might even be the more financially sustainable option.
I'm on my second Logitech Combo. After only taking the iPad Pro 12.9" out of the casing a handful of times the the very thin, rubbery case face stretched and disintegrated. Logitech sent me a free replacement, I barely used it as the same issue soon became apparent with only a couple of removal and inserts into the case. This clearly is a design issue. If I only used the Logitech on a desk, and did not need to take the iPad in and out for the use of a simple/non-keyboard/on the lap use I would say the product would get my thumbs up over the Apple product (which I do own BTW). As I do like the Logitech's large trackpad and function key row.
I agree, and since I used it my ipad battery drains heavily & quickly
The perfection of your video is another level. Very professional! Thanks!
Thanks for sharing. I appreciate your thoughts. Blessings on your day.
Does the 12.9 work for the new ipad pro? (m4 13)?
same question.. guys please help
Hello, my brother, following from Saudi Arabia. I think yesterday you did not understand me well, and I apologize for that. My intention was that I own an iPad Pro M1, but an external screen was blocked. I think from the latest update 17.4. Do you have the same problem as me? I want my brothers who own an iPad Pro M1 to tell me what is happening to them. Have they been blocked? From software
that's 400 euros in Europe, but on eBay there are plenty of offers for new ones at around 160$. I bought one from the US and spent half the ticket price
I remember in the beginning how my favorite bloggers (including you Chris😀) kept pushing the white keyboard. Mind you I can’t keep running out to replace an existing keyboard if I decide I don’t like it anymore, especially since they are very expensive as it is. Which is why i did my homework. So, I thought why not try it cause what could go wrong, right!. The white one is cool until you try typing in a dark/dimly lit room. Mannn!!! !t made me so mad!! You can’t distinguish which key your typing on even with backlit turned all the way up.. So, I think you should mention that! I bit the bullet and bought the black one, game changer!! I like it so much. Too bad you cant’t trade them in towards a new one😕
Awesome videos sorry I’m soo late
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I can’t recommend the Logitech keyboard at all. REALL malfunction upon swiping between the multiple languages, malfunction on the paste and copy or even marking the text. The keyboard of pressing all the open pages do not work. Clearly evident issues in writing upon multi page scope at same time. The only good side of it is the cover protection. That’s all. 😢
those keyboards are very heavy and no portable. Apple needs something lighter
If you are on a tight budget just get an iPad Air with magic keyboard instead of iPad pro. There is very little the iPad Pro can do that the Air can't do. I have been rolling with my iPad Air 4 + magic keyboard for several years and I don't feel the need to upgrade anytime soon.
