Pfoo you scared me when you dropped the light into the tank. Great video! Now I have to check your website to study all +-400 of them! Greetings from The Netherlands.
I got scared too, but you know - it happened to me before - so I kept my calm. Kinda... 😇 Thanks for watching Jerry, actually there are many identical plants that come from many different suppliers and packaging forms, so the real number would be around 150-200? Taking in consideration that there are big groups of plants that I mentioned in the video, the actual number of latin names one has to remember is probably below 100. That's not so dangerous.
Good Lights cost quite a bit. Water proof lights: Priceless. It really pays off and decent LED lights are a LOT safer than any other light source. Using regular light bulbs can be lethal.
I've been too. And really surprised how chilled Balazs was in that moment. Would scare the ***t out of me (Viktor). These lights are awesome, but the legs are really bad. Too easy to drop it from the tank. 😃

wonder.. if true aquascape aquatic plant.. can i planted them in the pots or big container submerged inside the tank? just for easy maintenance/cleaning moving etc thx
Hi this guy's soil is already in and the water is clear could anybody tell me how? I bought Japanese aquarium soil from Taiwan I American living in Taiwan. I must have rinsed the soil like 10 times and then I rinse the tank really well it's pretty big I bought a 3L bag of aquarium soil and I used it. I gently put the water in but it just came up black. I kept rinsing and rinsing and rinsing I can't get it to get clear. I mean I expected the water to be a little cloudy. Should I go to the pet store and put a layer of natural gravel or sand on top of it. I was thinking natural gravel because it would look more well natural.
Which plants would you recommend for extremely hard city water, as in Arizona. I have failed with 5 batches of Java moss and mail order plants do not survive for me, probably from water shock
Good light, good filtration, good CO2, good ferts, no overstocking, clay-based substrate to help with your filtration, room temperature cool, soft water, regular water changes.
Great video as always, but as a complete plant noob, I would also prefer to watch a longer video going more in dept on each plant :) i know i can read all this until my mind blows up, but i do prefer a detailed video over reading any day ;)
Great video. I'm doing a lot of research as I'm determined to set up a planted tank and I can't say I've come across something this informative in a while. Really a great video on the different types of plants. I'm really looking forward to watch part 2 next!

There seems to be more emphasis on using Co2 injection.. what about for the others of us that do not use it at all.. hmm I don't speak Latin but I do know a few words now haha.
Haha, mission accomplished Tim. Well CO2 is very very important in the case of aquatic plants. All plants need CO2, aquatic plants included so getting a pressurized system is a must for everybody who likes aquariums and wants to have beautiful plants. Even the "low-tech" ones will need CO2 for optimal growth.

For carpeting plants. I always see you planting extremely densely to achieve a more 'finished' look as you call it before the plants can really root / establish themselves. Im guessing this is specifically for gallery tanks to show customers? But im wondering if im on a low budget, do i still apply 1 cup = palm size planting area? Or can i plant them more spread out.
Yes, of course you can. We need to do that due to the video shooting too. Generally a video is uploaded about 10 days to 2 weeks after setting a tank up, that is a very very short time, so we need to rush with everything to make sure you guys have the finished look. But yeah, with patience you can achieve the same result with less plants (but the biology requires dense planting, do not forget that).
Hi Balazs, how would you know what plant that could be planted and what plants can grow without planting on the substrate? Any significant or specific characteristics? Thanks and regards from Malaysia.

Yes, remove the ones that melt, it's not your fault, some plants get an invisible infection in the nursery, impossible to select them out. It's only visible when you introduce it in the tank.
Very nice and quick, good to hear all of their names in a short window of time. Kind of like running through a flash card after I've learned already. Thanks for the video!
In general we're not using heaters in our aquariums. With water temp is around 22-24C. But if needed then build in filter ones or external one like Hydor is preferred.
Hello team green aqua, I'm desperate to save my plants, new tank (now on 6th day been doing daily changes), with invitro plants (TC). Using ADA amazonia. I know it leeches tons of ammonia so I'm doing daily water changes 50%, unfortunately didn't find the research on pre-cycling tank before planting, so now I'm trying to save them. Would you recommend any of the following or another solution you may have: 1. x2 daily water changes once in morning once in evening 2. doubling down on stabiliy/nutrafin cycle to create even more healthy bacteria to kill ammonia 3. taking them out of the tank, not sure where I can store them 4. adding iron or micronutrients 5. stop ammo (haven't heard much apparently neutralizes ammonia). I'm praying to the plant gods LOL.
One of the best vids I've seen on plant introduction. Concise and informative. 🌱👌
Thanks so much, glad you like how we approached the subject, tried to come up with as many favorite plants as possible for you guys to have a good idea on the basics.
Great video, I learned a lot! More closeups while you're talking about a plant would help since its all new to me, but otherwise very informative.
Well, that's what we could do with the current tech, but noted, we'll do more tutorials in the future with close-ups.

Wanted to know flowering plants that can be grown in aquarium
Yes, some plants will flower, even under water, like Bucephalandra and Anubias, but some will grow out of the water and flower there.
Hiw about using seed as they are easily available in India or the part of India I live in a small town as most of online don’t supply in my area
You could do that but we never did...
Any advice on melting plants? Some survive and some die off.
Yes, remove the ones that melt, it's not your fault, some plants get an invisible infection in the nursery, impossible to select them out. It's only visible when you introduce it in the tank.

120-150ppm usually.

How long is it take to white mold of driftwood come away? As
My has mould already a month
Usually a few weeks. But you can remove some of it with water changes and some fish and snails help you with that too.
hi what heating do you use for your fish please great work your doing love all of them
In general we're not using heaters in our aquariums. With water temp is around 22-24C. But if needed then build in filter ones or external one like Hydor is preferred.
Is dennerle scaper's soil good for plant growth?
Yes it is. Good stuff. 💡
How to find out with out CO2 plants name please
Go to the Green Aqua website and click plants, sort for needs.

We read all comments, regardless of where you post them :)
