Really glad that they touched on how setup can impact plants in ways other than 'it won't grow'. In particular, as a beginner doing low tech I was extremely frustrated trying to get reds into the tank because they just wouldn't do it. Lots of internet wisdom led me to trying to dose more iron, putting red potters clay in the substrate, and any number of other things all to no effect. I'd also never heard it called ARM- always "AR Mini" here in my local.

I’ve found that Staurogyne Repens works well for carpeting without CO2. Especially in a shallow tank. You can take trimmings and plant nearby and it fills in very nicely.

    • @GreenAquaShop

Yes stauro is a good low-tech plant, but you'll have to trim it often to keep it low. Some people just don't like that effort - including me, haha.

i really enjoy these types of Q&A videos. One of the commenters mentioned that you should do a video on specific plant species, which i completely agree with. A 3-4 min video outlining the pro's and cons of each plant and tips on how to use them in a scape would go a long way towards helping us rookies progress in this hobby. Maybe break it out into a separate mini series? Anyway, keep up the good work and thank you for putting out quality content.

Yeah, that's the proper way, take your time, and do things at your own pace. Much better than running forward like crazy, I agree.

Very helpful videos? Are you ever going to do live-streams? Or do you already and I just haven’t seen them yet, I am fairly new to the channel, only been watching for about one month. Thanks for all the help guys :)

We do some livestreams nowadays on instagram, but the quality of these will not meet our standards, so we usually stick to this format - it seams to be working fine.

@@kuatiogui Low tech is no co2, high tech is with co2
of course with co2 you need more light as theres more co2 in water

The really big problem for me, is that you can't find even half of those plants here (I live in Chile)...
I just can watch and dream... That's good enough (for now)
