For those interested in the UK that have noticed SC Guitars site is down, I have contacted them and was told "Unfortunately we are no longer able to retail Shijie Guitars due to supply chain issues and exchange rates." Fingers crossed for another UK agent in future.
Shijie are knocling it out the park. I finally got to play one yesterday (STE hardtail version). Beautiful guitar, flawless build, quality components, great neck, nice pickups and very well finiahed frets. Only slight gripe is the mint pickguard is a bit too minty for my liking, but that's a very minor point. Other manufacturers are going to have their work cut out making a better guitar for the money. Very impressed.

A great alternative to an overpriced Fender Strat, perfect frets, it stays in tune and good pickups. Sadly for me the shipping and import costs would double the price. You are so lucky to live in Singapore Jon, we have a very limited choice of good affordable guitars here in the UK. Thanks for your excellent demo Jon.🙂👍
@@JonIsJustTooLoud I checked out Shijie's website and found it very unreponsive trying to select the options i wanted. Their range of colour options are not for me, no solid colours, just washed out pastel ones. No point in emailing them, shipping and import costs are now way too high.

The Shijie is not quite my cup of tea, just my feeling on 'strats' in general, but it sounds and looks great and is no doubt very well made. Enjoyed hearing you play it, obviously it was not holding you back. If I were in the market for a strat I'd go for one of these way before a Fender. But to continue the analogy, a Squier Strat is much more in my budget range and their HSS model is not bad at all. For the quality level however, Shijie is not overpriced. I think you'd have to go way more than $1249 to get a comparable Fender, right? Pluses for this model are 12" fretboard radius, the comfy neck joint, and quality electronics and hardware. I imagine the frets are flawless. It seemed very quiet humwise especially in 2 & 4. In 2 are the humbucking bridge and single-coil middle pickups out-of-phase, would you think? To duplicate how that's normally done with just singles it seems the wiring scheme would have the hum coil of the bridge p/u grounded out in position 2. That's all, thanks Jon!
I have the pro in white and the neck is not modern C to me. It says it’s a modern C but It’s more of a 50’s strat neck as far as thickness. You know when you see a guitar and are immediately attracted to the look and then you go over a pick it up by the neck and are completely disappointed. And then, because of all of the appointments it has, you try to convince yourself that you can get past the neck shape? But you never do because the feel of a guitar is the most important thing in the end. I took a chance with this one and ordered it from Shijie because you can’t walk in to many stores in the US and try one. I’m not trashing the guitar by any means, just want people that like traditional “modern C” shape necks to be informed. I like the guitar but because of the neck I can’t love it. 😢

Honestly the AZ MIJ are so much better made and a $1000 less than the Fender Ultra Luxe series. Tone will always be subjective/personal, and Ibanez uses world class parts. The action on the AZ was outstanding out of the box. Jon, thanks so much for putting the volume and scope of new guitars on your channel. I'll try out a Shijie in 2023, again blessings in the New Year!
Your thoughts by comparing this one with Schecter's Nick Johnston Traditional model in HSS. Very look alike in many ways. Does this one in the video require any mods as you did in the Schecter?

The quality of these guitars warrants the price. To spec out a Fender Custom Shop Strat like this would cost 3 times as much. That said, you can find Shijie's with nickel frets for around $900 on Reverb. I love mine, STE SSS in a beautiful sunburst finish.

Yes it’s a touch chunkier.. but it’s not any chunky like some of the old baseball necks ✌️❤️
