Hi Jon. I really like this guitar myself ( though I am the UK distributor) I agree this is very very versatile guitar especially for a twin humbucker . There is very little it can’t do . Regarding the sound it has fantastic definition on the strings almost piano like but it rocks out well with pedals . John Miles Jnr who is a new Shijie artist has selected this as the model to go with. Oh by the way Shijie are in the UK ….just not London we operate from Warrington in the North west of England though we do guitar shows throughout the country including London and have a service centre partnership in Greater Manchester with Cottam guitars . We also do the model with stainless steel frets in the UK
I've owned a TM-5 for about a year. Mine has the quilt top with an alder back and a purple burst instead of gradient finish. Lovely guitar. Perhaps the smoothest, fastest neck I have ever played. Incredibly well-built guitar. I did switch the string tree to a Graph Tech Tusq, basically because you recommended them.
Your phrasing was so cool, I'm going to subscribe and hopefully learn and hear some more great guitar playing! All my guitars are Ibanez MIJ RG's, however I'm considering this Shijie guitar now, because the color is so beautiful, and the price seems reasonable.

It's very well-made and beautiful in appearance, and the sound is very clean and powerful. I also bought this guitar. Typically, Chinese guitars are often mass-produced and feel like low-quality, similar to Indonesian ones, but this brand has a premium quality. The demonstration was impressive, and I appreciated the extended and well-executed performance.
Totally agree, I like the warm tone of this guitar….gorgeous. And with a brass bridge and block instead of steel. Maybe that’s why? Compared to some high end top brands (won’t mention) this guitar competes for sure. Thanks Jon.
This is basically a budget Suhr Modern, the model with the blue fade finish on their website is really intriguing, too bad they don't offer it with a quilt maple top. How is the trem system, is it similar to a GOTOH 510, 2-point system? I like the big brass block, that's always a plus.
Actually Shijie released the Tm6 a year before the Ibanez AZ . Ibanez AZ was a take on the Shijie the original was a swamp ash body that had to stop because of the worm infection in swamp ash wood from the USA we now use okoume which gives a wonderful lightweight and clear sound till driven where it seems to add definition
Good guitar I own it, a little chuncky neck for my taste feels like D shape, not super shredy as C shape neck but not bad at all, coil tap sounds very single coil, I like it for blues playing better than other styles.
The more I see Shijie Guitar, the more I believe I should afford this brand than other already big brand haha God Bless Jon, I once bought schecter sun valley bcause of your video. It seem I will buy this shijie again, because of you 🫵
