Then you could make the argument that no one should keep any fish because in the wild they will move around a lot. But obviously this is not the case. All they need is cool water, enough room to do an easy turn, good feeding, water flow, and if you can meet all these requirements they will be happy and healthy.
Got any tips for keeping trout in tanks? I’m thinking of getting one I’ll only keep it in the tank when it’s a baby though I have a big private pond for it when it’s bigger
I’d recommend to get some live plants and replace the gravel with 3 centimeters of garden soil and 4 centimeters of aquarium sand on top. Live plants help with nitrites, nitrates, and ammonia. Plus, live plants can starve out algae!
Trout in my exp are not meant to be in a tank like that they need to move. I kept a brown in a tank like that and he just swam around likea maniac beaning himself into the glass let him go after one night. Best tank species for me were bluegills crappies rock bass. Catfish as well but theyre boring usually dont eat in front of you. Small bass are fun but if you put two in one tank they will kill each other territorial
1 tip for ya buddy, you should get a semi strong jet to make a flow in the tank, somthin like a pipe with holes in it goin across the front of the tank, but thase suckers are agresive😂
Trout are wandering fish and they shouldn’t be kept in aquariums.
Boohoo

they have enormous appetites if you feed them to satiety for 1 year a brook trout will be larger than 15” easily soon over 20
Thats why Rapalas are my favorite lures. Fish are cannibals!!!

Man, I've always wanted a trout as a pet. But I know they're not meant for tanks. I hope you released it or ate it.
