Well done for not using the phrase "ultimate troopy build " A thing which always concerns me is the lack of ventilation when a fridge is built in. Having lived full time with these fridges I notice they get hot when the compressor is running and the fan is venting the hot air out.

      Hahah the ULTIMATE!
I agree, ive still got alot of ventilation to do for around the fridge, aswell as more cut outs on the fronts surrounding the fridge. I was even thinking about wiring in some computer fans to help cool it down through the warmer days!
Thanks for the comment! Any tips and tricks are appreciated!

Loving the progress! Don't let the bench stress ya. I know your perfectionism will sort it. 🤣🤣

Hey guys, You're going great guns. Just found your channel and watched the first two episodes. You mentioned something about condensation on the earlier vid. We have the same Troopy from Kea and one of the first things we did was carpet the roof. Stopped condensation immediately. Just used marine carpet and contact adhesive. We stuck with the original layout ( the dated and ugly one haha ) as we like getting in and out by just opening the small door. However I'd like to change the benchtop to a nice timber one like you've done. I'll be looking forward to seeing how yours turns out.

Oh wow thanks for the suggestion! That's actually a great idea, we will look into that! One thing we are yet to try which many has suggested for a quick fix is opening one or two windows on each side of the car over night! But anything to avoid condensation is worth trying.
Thanks again! Hope to get some more vids out very soon!

@@jalbury01 The condensation from the roof stops but depending on temperatures you will have condensation on the canvas. The windows trick does help. Depending which state your in ( we are in Melbourne ) leave the roof up in the morning sun during breakfeast and that helps a lot. If we have to get an early start we just wipe with a chamois on the inside. Extra bonus to having a carpeted roof is that velcro becomes your friend. It's amazing what you can stick to the ceiling.

Hey mate, loving the videos, was just wondering if there was any particular advantages that influenced your choice of using melamine over plywood or other alternatives. Cheers

G'day mate, apologies for the late reply we've been offgrid for the last few weeks.
Personally it was just the look I wanted - clean white surfaces amd it's solid.
      CONS- alot heavier than ply.
If I were to start from scratch again I would use ply purely for the weight difference...
I've still yet to do a bit of weight reduction through the build which I will include in another episode.
      Cheers!

Great video. We have subscribed nd cannot wait to see more . One quick question about the popup roof: what brand is it and where do you get that type of roof fitted?

Great thanks! Not sure where you are from but there is a company on the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane. Bonetti campers, that can do the conversion!
