    Hey mate, what size battery would i need for it to run all night

    • @jalbury01
      @jalbury01 26 днів тому

      @ZachMcInerney the lights only have a 2.7ah current so any deek cycle battery 100ah plus should be able to cope over night. I'd highly recommend talking to an expert for batteries but also make sure your outboard charges batteries or you have a sufficient charging system on board. Or a separate battery for accessories besides your cranking battery.

    Hey fella, just a quick update with the screens. We are doing up a troopy and love the screen idea. But how does it go all the red dust outback. Have you had to remove the screens regular to clean behind. A year on, would you have done the securityscreens differently? . Many thanks 🙏

    • @jalbury01
      @jalbury01 2 місяці тому

      G'day! Screens are great! We didn't come across much red dust but any dust we did collect came off pretty easy with a pressure wash! Being popriveted I didn't really want to have to remove them often. There's nothing about them that I would have changed. Absolutely love them. Maybe a framed small window on kitchen side to pass small item out of the car haha thats about it. Cheers

    Hey dude, not alot of 490 reviews with the 90 yam Whats your overall thought's? Power, fuel economy, ride when it blows up, space? Cheers man

    • @jalbury01
      @jalbury01 10 місяців тому

      I went from 3.5m tinnie but honestly 8/10 power, picks up very quickly even with 5 blokes in it. Fuel economy seems great, i was only using 98. Never tracked the kilometres so couldn't tell you in that sense of economy. Rides incredibly flat, the (blade hull) definitely makes it easier to chop through the swell at higher speeds! Space- you'd be able to setup a dbl kings swag next to the side console! Amazing overall boat. If you want to get out to some closer islands. I wouldn't go any smaller- safely haha

    • @Lachiewhit
      @Lachiewhit 10 місяців тому

      @jalbury01 thanks dude, Currently in a 4.2 tinnie looking to upgrade to either the 460 with the 70 or 490 with the 90. Yet to see them side by side in person but I have seen a mates 440 and they are a solid tub ! Mainly fish inshore waters but in a decent day I will be punching out 6/7 mile

    • @jalbury01
      @jalbury01 10 місяців тому

      @Lachiewhit awesome! One bit of advice- if you have any plans of travelling in the near future amd wamt to take the boat. Consider the weight of the boat+ trailer and the vehicle you would tow with. We decided to sell the 490 to do a lap of aus as it was too big to tow behind a heavy slow troopy haha. (Didn't want it to rot in storage/lose value)

    • @Lachiewhit
      @Lachiewhit 10 місяців тому

      @jalbury01 I will keep that in mind man 👍🏻 I'll go and check them both.. only reason I'm thinking 490 is wife and couple young kids on-board also. Otherwise I would go 460, 460 still might do it I will have to go check them out

    • @jalbury01
      @jalbury01 10 місяців тому

      @Lachiewhit 460 with a 70hp would be just as good! 490 leaves plenty of room for 5 plus esky at the back etc. But only 4 seat posts and the front seat post is the most uncomfortable hahah

    Hey guys. I like your bracket assembly. We currently run sail track, works fine but more fiddly than the 270. Just a tip...We have the same troopy and carry peel rivets for that part of the roof for when the tie down points fail. I'm sure the rivets you used are fine especially with that adhesive which does the major lifting. Peel rivets are what Kea used as they have an increased area behind the work. Cheers

    Hey guys, You're going great guns. Just found your channel and watched the first two episodes. You mentioned something about condensation on the earlier vid. We have the same Troopy from Kea and one of the first things we did was carpet the roof. Stopped condensation immediately. Just used marine carpet and contact adhesive. We stuck with the original layout ( the dated and ugly one haha ) as we like getting in and out by just opening the small door. However I'd like to change the benchtop to a nice timber one like you've done. I'll be looking forward to seeing how yours turns out.

    • @jalbury01
      @jalbury01 2 роки тому

      Oh wow thanks for the suggestion! That's actually a great idea, we will look into that! One thing we are yet to try which many has suggested for a quick fix is opening one or two windows on each side of the car over night! But anything to avoid condensation is worth trying. Thanks again! Hope to get some more vids out very soon!

    • @e210dall3
      @e210dall3 2 роки тому

      @@jalbury01 The condensation from the roof stops but depending on temperatures you will have condensation on the canvas. The windows trick does help. Depending which state your in ( we are in Melbourne ) leave the roof up in the morning sun during breakfeast and that helps a lot. If we have to get an early start we just wipe with a chamois on the inside. Extra bonus to having a carpeted roof is that velcro becomes your friend. It's amazing what you can stick to the ceiling.

    Well done for not using the phrase "ultimate troopy build " A thing which always concerns me is the lack of ventilation when a fridge is built in. Having lived full time with these fridges I notice they get hot when the compressor is running and the fan is venting the hot air out.
