- The CZ Bren 2 PPS is a designated marksman rifle (DMR) chambered in .308/7.62x51mm. It's based on the popular Bren 2 platform, but features a number of modifications to make it more suitable for long-range precision work. In this video, we take a closer look at the CZ Bren 2 PPS and discuss its features and performance with Lukas, one of the operators on the testing team for the CZ Bren 2 PPS. Finally, we test the accuracy of the PPS with Sellier & Bellot NATO ammo at 100 meters.

I don't know much, but I haven't ever heard high speed dudes ever talking bad on a Bren. 🤔
I'd like them to bring back the 805, I like the changes made to function on the Bren 2, but I love the way the 805 looks.

@terriblefez only issues I've heard of was gen 1 and the x39 I think they had lugs sheer and extractors breaking prematurely. But I've had that with a few x39 monstrosities.

This gun will give the SCAR a serious run for its money! Would love to see it for sale in the American market!
Definitely, being 2lbs lighter than my SCAR 20s and assuming the CZ will be cheaper it'll be hard to justify the SCAR.

@@IWillSmurfYou nah man, 308 is plenty effective for anything and is cheap, common, and plentiful. 6.5 manbun is better in most ways, but it's cost prohibitive relative to 308.

I've been waiting for CZ to bring these into the US for the last couple of years. Will most definitely be on my buy list when they get here!
This gun is the better scar. I would choose this gun everyday of the week over the scar even if the scar was the same price. I almost bought a Bren 2 the other day but another guy in the store wanted it as well and didn’t have any rifles yet so I decided to let him have it. I have plenty and my local store said they find me another one.
I would love to see a comparison against the X-16 perun.
I have the 556 version and love it although I will admit it is a bit heavy. But the 308 DMR rifle being a bit heavier is kind of par for the course. But it seems to compete head to head with the SCAR 20 at about half the cost. And to me that means more ammo and time at the range becoming more proficient.
Weight is the biggest issue with these 308 battle rifles. Same as the Tavor. I have a SASS Ar-10 with heavy barrel and quad rail and its a tank. Would not want to lug it around too far.
The 4.5kg quoted in the video is only 0.2kg heavier than a current-production SVD-- the OG of DMR rifles, so, yeah... par for the course.
Still about 2 lbs heavier than the average ar 10 which would be about 9 lbs.
This would definitely be a hot seller in the US; especially since its weight is on par with many AR10's, SCAR, etc.
A 308 option that doesn’t require me to shell out $4000 would be be awesome. CZ USA needs to make this happen.
This is the DMR 308 that I have been waiting here for in the US, and been asking for since it was announced. Thanks for following up on my suggestion of actually checking out this gun and getting us the info we desired. Now come on CZ- We are waiting.
Dear cz marketing department I have a recipe for success. sell these military clone rifles in limited batches and sell many more in a 6.5 creedmoor variant (also 18” barrel ). Ensure both rifles function reliably with a silencer. Sell for under 2500 and you will crowd out FN from the American market.

I've been shopping for a semi auto .308 rifle recently. I would buy this in a heartbeat over a direct impingement rifle if CZ USA announced they could bring them in for under $2500 retail.

CZ support for the Bren2 is nearly nonexistant and aftermarket companies have fixed problems with several models.
RobArms on the other hand offers pretty much all spare parts right on their website.
I own both guns, it's much simpler to get replacement parts for an XCR.
CZ pretty much abandoned the Bren to its own devices after dropping it on the US market.
Please bring the PPS or at least the 308 variant of the Bren 2 to Civilian sale in the US.
Definitely hopeful this comes to the US market as well as a 300 blackout standard Bren 2. The ability to suppress and dial in your gas is settings is such a game changer over AR series rifles. Love my Bren 2 MS 5.56
Personally, CZ guns just fit me like a prom dress. Just getting back into long guns after a long sojourn into pistols. Having just picked up my first AR10, I will say this makes me chubb quite a bit more. I will say please, but if I have to I will slip something in your drink to get it here.

Im surprised the Bren2 hasnt been more popular. Its a great looking rifle and seems to be GTG. I wanted a 556 years back but this 308 might be my next purchase.
It’s hard to be popular in such limited numbers. I’ve never even seen one for sale I just know academically they exist somewhere
@@timunderbakke8756 No demand do to price i think. Not many bought them so they didnt make or send that many to the US. ( reminds me of the FS2000) The pistol version can be had at Global Ord or Classic firearms in 556 and i am still tempted to pick one of them up but I already have too many 556 and dont need a $1700 pistol.
@@timunderbakke8756you must live in a shitty area. I can put my hands on at least 4-5 of the pistols at any given time without driving more than 1 hr. The carbines are a little more rare, though you can always order one.
No alot of gun stores don't care to sell CZ because they offer so many models compared to other brands and CZ are not cheap compared to there competition. I have been told this by a number of gun store owners. I personally love CZ anything. You may pay a little more but you also get what you pay for.@@TheAsheybabe89

Very nice lenght barrel. 18" is imho sweet spot for 7.62 x 51 for DMR. A lot of company makes 16" or 20".

Us may have overally bigger market for civilian weapons but in all honestly
european gun community is not small group of people either.
It is bit of misconseption that civilians dont have guns in europe.
One part for that is stricker regulated ownership when compared to
how thing mostly work in states.
But i think bigger reason is just very simple.
Typical gunowner in europe is usually bit more tight lipped
to share what he may have. Big reason for that is because usually enviroment
is not too supportive for active gun hobby so your neighbor may not know
that you have small armory worth of weapons.
Overally we live bit under the radar but there are reasons why
so many well known gunmanufacturer still have their factory in europe.

@@Kesssuli I also think the gun owning stats are compiled by many countries where as the US is just a single nation. It would be like everyone thinking all of the american states had no guns because California and New York proclaim how tough their gun laws are and the other states could stay quiet because it didn't affect them. The loud gun culture is mainly because morons are spreading the stupid idea that we can just legislate all guns from existing (in civilian hands) and it would solve all the problems in the world and in our political system if you are not loud you ignored.
I believe the Czech Republic recently put a 2nd amendment like clause into their federal governing document (I don't remember what their system refers to it as) and Im sure if I looked into other smaller nations in that region I would find similar cases or very lax gun laws in those countries that just don't make the news and stick to themselves.
CZ is up there with my fav gun manufacturer.

That's a stretch. The Bren 2 cost 3200-3600 and came in limited quantities. Calling it extremely popular when 80-90% of the Canadian public can't afford one, is a big stretch.
@theangrycanuck8331 the price is a result of Canadas policies, its importers and the current state of the market. Where the canadian NR modern sporting rifle market stands, they can charge those prices since there is very little competition at the brens performance level. That goes double if you start talking about an NR 308, beyond the T7 not much fits this niche IMO
@@iornlint that doesn't change the fact that they are pretty much unobtainable to most Canadian firearms owners. Throw.out whatever reasoning you want, that doesn't change facts on the ground. I'm not spending 3600 on a .223 or 7.62 rifle, and not spending 4-5k on a .308 version of that same rifle. Adding in the reasons you gave, why would I buy a rifle that can be banned overnight? So how does that make this popular?
@@theangrycanuck8331 Not for people in the market for a semi auto 308, all gun prices are significantly and the current offerings are sorely lacking. If people want one, they'll save up. Buy once, cry once, and you'll have a quality firearm that will probably last the rest of your life. In the context of having it for decades the price is well worth it, and it will likely appreciate in value as most firearms do.

That NightForce is going to add a fair amount to that final price. I'm guessing they'll have to sell it without. Curious to see how it handles the gas added by an older can. Like a saker 762 or something from deadair.
James: I have been sending Emails to CZ Europe and USA since 2020 when I heard they made a 308 win model after I purchased my Bren 2ms 14 inch in 7.62x39 that is heavily modified with HBI parts to make it 922R complaint and also 100% Reliable and Dependable since day ONE with ZERO malfunctions since purchase in November 2020 and over 5k rounds of mostly 123gr FMJ Steel Case Military Classic and Tula ammo plus a couple of boxes of High End Defensive ammo like Winchester DPX-1 and Underwood 123gr Controlled Chaos Monolithic rounds and Double Tap 123gr DT ammo. I already own four AR10 so I have a plentiful supply of Magpul 308 PMags plus a few of the FUN DRUMS from Magpul so I am READY for CZ-USA to get off their ASS and bring in the Bren 2 PPS!!!! I know that the Military version comes in a 16 and 20 inch version but an 18 inch Version for the USA would be SO SO COOL but I will get the 20 inch if I must because I will turn it into a True DMR weapon.

My buddies 2Ms 8” is insane. We’ve beat the crap out of it, run it and it never fails. And ringing 6x6 steel plate at 200m with a fixed 3x is pretty impressive. Definitely wouldn’t mind a carbine!
