Love my MartinLogan F100s and Center Channel. Perfect sound and punch in my space and couldn't be happier! Really glad they came out when they did, because I had just completed my build and wanted to make the right choice in my space! Hello Michael, thank you for the positive review! I have had my Dynamo 1600X for sometime now, which was paired by my dealer with a pair of the Classic 9 electrostats in a 2.1 music system (not theater).
I ran the ARC with a laptop AND the perfect bass mic kit system. The stand is of professional quality and I used 5 listening positions. Cool thing is, you get complete data (graphs) on the laptop as it communicates directly with the sub via the USB connector on its rear panel.
The graphic display shows what you started with both before and AFTER ARC, and whats nice is, you can switch it in and out ON THE FLY and hear the differences. After ARC calibration, now, you can fine tune to your tastes with the filters and levels and all that usual tools.
Again, ARC is the real star with this sub, and as you showed, the fact that it is 'convertible' is a nice and thoughtful touch, ALSO, an optional wireless capability too.
To conclude, ARC in my 24x18' space re-tuned the sub to 16Hz and took out a huge bump I had at 25 Hz. What a difference!, I used a tablet as remote during setup fine tuning, but once that was done, I never fuss with it. Many thanks for the Martin Logan 'nod' 👍

My experience with these subs and the app is that the app limits the customization to the SW settings and EQ. Having an Anthem mic and the ARC Genesis, one gains full control of SW customization prior to using the receiver's room correction.

Nice review and setup, Mike. Thank you. I am enjoying the B100 as rear and side surrounds in a 7.4.4 setup. They sounds fabulous for HT. For critical two channel listening, I found them to be a little hot in the treble. Not as refine as other speakers in my systems (a little grainy and a little smearing in the mid range), but they are amazingly fun with very low distortion drivers! As a side note, the B100 are really not 93 dB speakers from my experience....sound much closer to 87 dB. 😀😀😀

Michael, I have the Klipsch RF-7 III's for my LCR. After watching this video, I went to Abt Electronics and put the F200's through the ringer with some music. I have to tell you, I was just as impressed as you were. Although I prefer my RF-7 III's for our HT sound, I am thinking about grabbing a pair of these for our living room, which is where we mainly listen to music. Thanks for the review! Now to reach out to Ryan...

    • @Youthman

I agree! The RF7 III are fantastic speakers. But as you have stated, for 2ch listening, being a 3-way design with a dedicated midrange driver plus the folded motion tweeter, I feel the F200’s are superior.

@Youthman, more and more I find myself following your video. Hope you can help me. I am considering replacing my Polk Audio RT-2000P (it has built in powered subwoofer) which I bought used in 2011. Still delivering solid performance though.
I am looking at the following speakers : the ML Motion XT200, the Definitive Technology DM80, the Arendal 1723 THX, Polk Audio L600.
I like a speaker that could deliver accurate sound when listening to jazz, classical piano, pop. A satisfying home theater sound is icing on the cake. I am retired so this might be a last purchase for me.

Hello Youthman… brilliant review as usual! May I ask about how one would go about combining ARC on the subs with Dirac Live on my RZ70 for example? Is it better in this case to avoid the ARC on the subs altogether relying solely on Dirac?… or do they complement each other with great benefits seen running ARC on subs just prior to running Dirac on the whole 5.1.4 system? Thanks very much Youthman… I’m VERY curious about this question. :)

The way I saw you throwing that subwoofer around showing the feet I knew it would be a let down. For 2,0000. there are a lot of really really good subs. For less than double you can get some real experience altering subs from JTR. I would get the speakers but skip these ML subs.

    • @Youthman
      @Youthman  10 місяців тому

Although they sound good, they certainly are nowhere near the caliber of say a JTR subwoofer. But many people do not have the budget for a $4,500 subwoofer.

    Martin Logan LX16

That is the problem with many cheap and mid-range speakers.
I've been dealing with speakers long enough, so I know how a speaker should and shouldn't measure up. I know what is CHEAP or good quality components.
If you look at the speaker crossover filter on many speakers, there are often CHEAP components and the terminal uses magnetic steel.
      This is the reality.
Too many speakers have a maximum price the factory can use. And in order to hang on to enough money, the quality is often compromised?

These speakers have amazing drivers and cabinets. A little tinkering will bring these up to objectively stellar levels; unfortunately, most speakers are design with "house sound" in mind. I think all the issues we see are purposely design into the speakers.
