Awesome bike. I ride mine to work and to the beach. 4800km in 2 years, no problems. Replaced one chain and the shifter now has a fault going up from 12th to 11th gear. I have all the parts for a full gear rebuild, just don't find the need to fit yet.
I've heard the bomber z1 doesn't have the normal 36 Evol air spring and people have to run a lot of tokens to get balance out support and suppleness but it was never a perfect solution. bike radars fork comparison video explained this.
I watched the video when it came out a month ago and now I am looking for an all rounder ebike, and came back to this Merida which is awesome. What is your height for a size Large? I am 5ft 9 (1.75) with shoes on, and I am between M and L. Also, is that rattling noise from the motor very annoying? Would you recommend the bike for all around riding or something else with more travel? Keep up the good work!
I’m 174cm bare foot, and the size was perfect. Medium would feel a little small. The rattle I describe couldn’t really be heard on the trails so it was no issue for me. Its a killer bike, and runs perfect with the coil setup which is a bonus
Great review! Talking about hard saddles, since I do a bit of roadie stuff using padded shorts, its all about the shape and less padding is ideal as you just want padding in your lycra. When it comes to MTB shape matters but no padded shorts means you for sure want some good cushion in the seat
@@mtbtelly5522 I tried a MTB seat on my roadie and it hurt! They make regular MTB baggy shorts with the ass padding so you can run a harder saddle. Its 1 or the other, padding in seat or in pants. They just dont make a saddle with soft foam stuck on top, so having the good cushin in the pants is for sure the best solution. Its hard to believe. But I dont do 8hr MTB rides so unpadded pants is fine
Great review. Looking at buying one of these atm but the 2021 version.

Ah I’ll check that vid out. Yeah it seems similar to the old solo air rockshox spring.
The clunk sounds is likely the hub hitting the next engagement point, hence it doesn't do it when rolling
Ah maybe you’re right there. Its a mysterious sound coming from what seems to be the bottom of the motor
@@mtbtelly5522 I assume there's also an engagement system in the cranks ?

@@KurtisPape ahaha. It truly is almost impossible to find a comfortable saddle to spend more than an hour in.
Shock length?
That was a 205x65 trunnion
Keep up the good work
