Strava says 18.12km and 960 metres of elevation gain. That hill is a hardcore pinch near the top. What do you mean by cloggy when you talk about the Impact pros? Do you mean the foot is somehow a bit swimming in a big rigid upper? Also how is the pedal feel compared to the sam hill impacts? I ran the sam hill impacts with the pre-adidas rubber for 3 years now but they're about to die any minute.

If you are getting toe pinch on descents have you tried lacing them differently so that the lower lace eyelets are not pulled closer together but the upper laces hold your foot so it is not able to slide forward and pinch that little toe? Maybe not lace the bottom two eyelets? Worked for me, I have wide feet. There is always amputation? I use 5ten impact pros and think they are great, I also have RC wildcats and sometimes have my feet leave the pedals where as thee 5tens always seem locked to the pedal. The wildcats seem hard wearing and the sole seems to be concave rather than flat.

Have a look at the RC Wildcats next time , they`ve got the extra bit of ankle protection . Bit of a pain putting them on with the laces and strap but my feet certainly feel protected and secure . My feet kinda feel naked when I put the 5/10`s on . And the newer Wildcat versions definitely have way better grip than the older ones . Maybe take those RC`s of yours to a cobbler and see if they can stretch them out a bit to make them a bit wider . My latest pair of wildcats did have a problem on the right shoe being tight in the toe area , but after a few rides they must of stretched and now feel fine . Strange though because they were half a size bigger than my previous wildcats which were perfect fit from the get go . They must be using new molds or something .

I haven't had any problems with them while riding, but they rub a little when walking on steep trails. The Hellion Elite is a little bigger, they fit great, they are slightly stiffer, they have more toe protection, they are more water resistant. They get a little hotter in the summer. You may want a little compression for control up front, but focus on getting the spring rate adequate first, and alter rebound back and forth to liven up or calm the bike at different spring rates

Almost everyone already gave the correct explanation: these are bubbles from the syringe. I tried it myself, exactly with the same syringes to be sure of it, several times, before your video. But the real question is: why only these crappy brakes would need such a thing? With other brakes you just pour the fluid in a tank. The reason is that when using this sram crap you try to think of everything to keep a consistent bleed status. When i bleed the R I have a rock solid lever, super consistent for like 1 bike park day, maybe half. And then they are spongy again. If it were air in the fluid, they would be spongy always, even right after the bleed. You can try any kind of magic with code R, even degassing the dot 5.1, but you will get the same result. Once I realized it and I put the R where they belong (the trash bin) everything became perfect.

Definitely genuine pads? The only time I've heard this happen is with genuine pads! I got hit with fakes, so I never changed my original XT non-finned pads and never had an issue, but it would be interesting to know if it happens with them. Maybe they're just too thin and getting snagged in the vent hole on the discs when turning. Mine are 203 discs, and I've never had this issue, but my friend's are 180mm, and they've had no issues either. I'd be looking at the pads, and if they're genuine, then I'd push the piston out with a cleaning block. It's probably gunked up and not resetting back far enough.
