    0:10 What do electrolytes do?
4:30 Bulletproof your immune system *free course
Today I want to cover what electrolytes do, with a special focus on five specific electrolytes.
    1. Sodium:
    • Hydrates
    • Is involved in oxygen transport
    • Works with potassium to generate electrical potential (the sodium-potassium pump)
    • Decreased sodium can lead to weakness, tiredness, and low endurance
    2. Potassium:
    • Supports the nerve and muscle interaction
    • Works with sodium to generate electrical potential (the sodium-potassium pump)
    • Decreased potassium can lead to weakness and tiredness
    3. Magnesium:
    • Controls the absorption of sodium and potassium
    • Is associated with oxygen
    • Supports the relaxation of the muscle
    • May help prevent muscle cramps
    • May be necessary for workouts (especially long or intense workouts)
    • Decreased magnesium may lead to muscle cramps and low endurance
    4. Calcium:
    • Supports muscle contraction
    • Supports neuromuscular excitability
    • Decreased calcium can lead to tetany, muscle cramps, and skeletal muscle weakness
    5. Chloride:
    • Supports hydration

I'm 56 and my brother is 66, we climb ladders up and down, up and down in our work of hanging new gutters. We have a bottle of Distilled water with Liquid Trace Minerals added and a heavy dose of Salt. We sip on this throughout the day, as we walk back to our trailer to roll out new gutters. We chase this mix of electrolytes with fresh distilled water with added back Trace Minerals and a dash of salt. My lower back is completely healed and my older brothers' knees and joints are 100% back to normal.
Distill your water folks, as tap water water is horrible and loaded with toxins. What a huge difference in our bodies as we up'd our Veggie intake, cut sugar, cut flour and focused on good meats, fish and chicken.
Thanks to Dr. Berg, we feel great at our age. All our clients health is off the scale BAD!!!
Our last client was 78 and on 18 meds. Say What???? That is just crazy!
Eating lots of ORGANIC veggies is what makes the body function so well in my opinion.
No fast food at all in my life and ABSOLUTELY ZERO soda pops. That sheese is pure JUNK and Poison!

I wish i would've known this info 20 years ago...
I worked outside all day, sweating... not replenishing my electrolytes... not feeling good after working so long like that... blood pressure was high and I was avoiding salt, fat, and all the good stuff that my doctor suggested to avoid...
I worked hard and didn't eat enough during the day because it was so hot... it made it hard to work... by the time I did eat, it was time to go to sleep, and I would crash hard with a full belly... but was it digesting properly??? Probably not...
One day before ever watching dr. Berg, I took some salt in my hand and chased it down with water...
    My blood pressure dropped...
Ever since then, I did the opposite of what I was told and am starting to feel better... started watchn dr. Berg's videos and he reaffirmed what I was already onto... been watching ever since... because he actually makes sense... unlike the idiopathic, drug pushing doctors I've been to... instead of finding out why my BP was high, they gave me BP meds that made me feel worse... I quit taking them shortly after, because they were killing me... my heart was fighting to beat without the electrolytes and the BP meds were fighting my heart... only if I would've known then, I wouldn't be trying to get my health back on track... I'd STILL be healthy instead... but... as long as you do learn something from bad situations, you can make a difference in your life and help others along the way...

Last fall I had low blood pressure, but reversed that by increasing my salt intake. (I don't eat processed foods so I have to add pink salt to my foods.) Then this Feb and much of March, I had palpitations and shortness of breath. Finally got an EKG and blood tests, and all was "normal" except for slightly below-normal hemoglobin and hemotocrit levels. Now I feel normal again. I think that's because I've paid more attention to getting enough iron, salt and magnesium. I also make sure to time my calcium supplements or foods at least two hours before or after my iron foods (calcium interferes with iron absorption), exercise daily (no more skipping days), and most importantly -- managing how I react to stress. Stress control is key. I hope these tips help someone else who might have similar issues.

Unfortunately doctors in the UK are no longer taught any of this stuff. They are reduced now to functionaries that match a patient with the most profitable Pharmaceutical product in stock.
A bit like modern mechanics that can't fix cars but can hook one up to a diagnostic device and then fit whichever boxed products the device tells them to.

So true. We’ve been Americanized and monopolized. It’s awful.
Parents don’t teach it. Teachers don’t teach it. Doctors don’t teach it. It was impossible to learn.
Uni students scoff at any information that wasn’t provided to them directly at uni not realizing their education is stunted on purpose. And they wonder why they get no respect now. We know they don’t know enough now.

It's throughout our culture. A friend was VASTLY overcharged at a fast food restaurant. The person behind the counter kept saying it was correct because that was what the cash register said. Any person with normal math skills could see this was wrong without any calculations, but the counter person only believed the register. I've had a furnace repair guy following protocols that were useless when even I, totally untrained in this could glimpse what was wrong with what he was saying. Of course, the worst is when people's lives and health are at stake. Though biological organism are far more complicated, even machines can have unique characteristics.

Thank you dr. Berg . I really appreciate the full insight about hydration ! To think my GP + has been ignoring my complaints about struggling to stay hydrated. I have been using Alkaline 88 water. 1/2 Alkaline water 1/2 spring water. It's been helpful. But, I've still have had some dehydration at time's. The only things that I've been drinking for the most part: is clean water, almond milk. Sometimes herbal teas. This summer I have actually made watermelon juice which is I've learned full of amino acids! I also found that it did help me feel like always more hydrated. I just to say I also learned that the only part of the watermelon you cannot utilize is the peeling. The seeds that we were always told not to swallow I have learned that you should eat the seeds for Zink! The other thing I have done this summer was ate a lot of cantaloupe which is hydrating from what I read. There is one more thing that I use when I can afford to colon and that's adding liquid chlorophyll to my water. I used to do that on a daily basis multiple times through the day, when I could afford to do it on a regular basis. It's not just hydrating it's also a good blood purifier as well as an added source of K2. To say the least ...
    Have a wonderful day Everyone,

Same here. After getting very sick in a less than 24 hour period and not being able to eat for several days except liquids, I’ve had a hard time coming back from it and I’ve also been doing low-carb/keto diet. The palpitations and shaking is really bad for a while there. They have become less but they’re still occurring every couple of days. So I’m looking for a way to deal with this possible potassium, magnesium deficiency that I probably have. I also have an appointment to see a cardiologist this Friday

Great video as usual 👏 However, it would have been even better to give an example of what to eat and/or do to fully satisfy the requirement a typical person needs. For example, I read that it’s best to get magnesium via transdermal application rather than a digestive supplement and I’m sure that eating some food rich in one thing will inhibit the absorption of another.

Recently realized how important electrolytes are, been pounding RO water for years and ended up really dehyrated, started adding mag cit, cal cit, and potasium cit, salt, baking soda, and drinking same ammount of water gained 7lbs of water weight in a week. Muscles look much fuller and better. Eyes even whitened up. Used citrate versions because i also experimented with a low oxylate diet and went through dumping symptoms for a few weeks

Not sure if this is some sort of sign that your video came up on my feed, but after researching Tetany, one of the symptoms has to do with laryngospasms… This might be a new direction and a possible remedy to our issue that for some reason, no one seems to know anything about.
