When I was in the hospital the Dr. and the nutritionist tried to tell me I needed 180 carbs per day and at the time I was a type2 diabetic. I knew better than that so I had my kids bring me carnivore foods and I used low fats and within 3 days my glucose readings went from 307 to 91. She was mad as hell because she was trying to give me insulin and metformin that I refused so she told me it would eventually stop working and I was going to die. I told her that was a chance that I was willing to take. This is my story on how I started taking my life and health seriously.

Because of a highly inflammatory, high carb diet for most of my life, I have lost my gallbladder, had to have a hysterectomy which meant no hope of having children, and decades of constant all over pain. The anger I feel toward the doctors who didn’t know or never told me I could fix my suffering by a simple change in diet is almost overwhelming. Only one doctor ever told me to even eat a gluten free diet but still gave no real advice about how to do that. I’m so grateful for Dr. Berg and Dr. Berry and the other doctors who share their knowledge and philosophy.

Ekstra B12. Calcium and Zink with magnesium. The big break through was when I started to focus on potassium! Good bye bed! I took vitamin K2 with my calcium and D3. @@myrtlegourzong9900 Easiest and simplest description is Keto/carnivore diet. Real & fresh food. Not processed, packaged, keto labelled products. No root vegetables (starch), no peas or beans (high toxicity). No sugar, honey etc.
Basically, depends how your body reacts, Seems to me that I have eaten a "normal/recommended" yet adverse (to me) diet for so long that wasting disease progressed to convince me I didn't have long to live. flexibility. Seems to me that options depend on where your at with your health.
These are the only 2 options for energy. Carbs are instant short term energy through blood sugar (with all it's issues), but fats are provide sustained energy through ketones. As I could no longer tolerate carbs. My only option was to rely on fats for energy. You need this. You cant survive on just protein, there is a condition known as protein poisoning. So it a leap to go to fats after a lifetime of being told that fats are bad & carbs are good. No choice, it was eat fats or die.
Normal levels of ketones are not a problem. However, there are some disease conditions that produce extremely high ketone levels. If you have that condition. you don't want to exacerbate it.
You could get your ketones tested, alternatively you can get ketone blood test kits similar to the blood sugar test kits used by diabetics.
Seeing as you ask, I assume you are having some health issues, I hope you find an answer that works for for you. God Bless!

I agree totally and completely when I had a flu for seven months at age 35 which turned into fibromyalgia and interstitial cystitis etc. not even holistic doctors knew what to say and I paid for the best. Yes they had more information than regular doctors I did IV vitamins, they supported me being a vegan 🤨, They told me to get off gluten and dairy which I already wasn’t eating dairy, tested for food allergies tested for infections, Did a $400 urinalysis that showed I was sick as a lupus patient and needed $1000 worth of supplements a month, all kinds of stool tests, but did they give me any of this information no nothing it was just a lot of ridiculousness. OK you have leaky gut syndrome good luck Here is some permeability factors you can drink every day maybe that will help because ur gut lining is almost nonexistent, Don’t let the door hit you on the way out. Oh and I have to add they said wow this test shows you are in a state of ketosis that was 20 years ago and no one was talking about it but they knew what it was. I said what the heck is that he said you’re really burning your fat I was skinny as a bean as a vegan eating lots of carbs how could I have been in ketosis. Maybe because I wasn’t eating much because everything bothered my bladder. Anyway sorry for the rambling but I love Dr Berg I just can’t say enough about him he is the man! If anyone knows where I can get a micro biome transplant please let me know I know that’s what I need from massive antibiotics in my teens for strep throat and then people trying to cure my interstitial cystitis with eight doses of Cipro.

Dr BErg is changing so many lives with his informative videos. You are a blessing. Before your vids my BP was 190/85--had a mini stroke. I had pre-diabetes, obesity (200 pounds/ 5' 2") and hurt all the time. Painmeds were hurting my stomach and I had gastro-issues and an ulcer. I'm off of ALL my meds and feel great. My weight is 150. I started taking tai chi and can MOVE without pain. My BP and glucose are normal. No more pain meds- no more ulcer. Keto-done right and intermittent fasting. My cholesterol is still a little high, but I'm not going back. I've eliminated bad oils and increased salmon. We'll see if the cholesterol drops a bit.

I need to make my partner watch this. He has rheumatoid arthritis that was well controlled before having the Covid vaccination. Since being vaccinated in October last year his arthritis is out of control and he is literally living on prednisone for the pain. We live in Australia and he is a landscaper so Vitamin D is never a problem for him. He went to his specialist yesterday who has prescribed him a new medication and he told him he will just have to live with diarrhoea, nausea and loss of appetite etc… as a side affect to the medication so that he doesn’t have to live in pain. I told him this morning he needs to cut out carbs and sugars but he won’t listen to me. He will be watching this tomorrow, I’m praying you can convince him to at least try it and see how he goes! It’s crazy, I was thinking earlier I have to find one of your posts explaining that carbs and sugar are bad for his rheumatoid and you have put this up today. Thank you so much

It’s hard to convince people cut surge and carbs, they think you are crazy. You may let him watch more videos before he willing to do it.

Dr. Berg, you need to start adding EMF as a separate cause of inflammation and discuss grounding/earthing to get our too high positive charge in our body to level out. Going out barefoot or wearing leather sole shoes on a walk, especially in nature is a free solution (besides the cost of the shoes). For anyone reading, I recommend Earthrunners. I would love Dr. Berg's take on EMF, Earthing, and Light Hygiene. The Wellness Mama podcast with Andy Mant, creator of BluBlox is one of the most informative on Light Hygiene (balancing blue light and red light, sources of each and when and how to use them for our benefit- and how Light affects cortisol, melatonin, Vitamin d, and skin cancer).

You forgot one, cavitations from poorly done dental extractions, and all root canals. If the dentist fails to remove the periodontal membrane from the socket after extraction, and no bone grafting is done, you are left with pockets of bacteria in the jaw bone, that leaches into other parts of the body, causing inflammation. Not too many doctors will tell you this, as it is considered to be “outside of their scope of practice”.

I just have to say that I am soooo thankful to be able to watch videos by Dr. Berg. No doctor I have ever seen in person has shared this kind of information and it is very frustrating. The last few months I have been dealing with many intestinal issues and the doctors here ruled it as IBS and also gastritis and only gave me omeprazole and linzess to help and did not tell me what to eat or drink or what not to eat or drink to help with any of this. Out of 4 or 5 times going and paying to see the doctor I didn't learn anything useful like watching 30 minutes of Dr. Berg for free.
If everyone cared and shared like he does, everyone would be in better health.
Thank you Dr. Berg, also if you're reading this I would really like to know something. I did not have any problems like I am having with my intestines and esophagus now. It all happened after contracting Covid. I have recovered from this though about 6 or more months ago but still keep having crazy new symptoms that all seem to be possible in the same ways as having inflammation. Is it possible that everything I am dealing with is the "long haul" post symptoms from Covid or did it just awaken something? I have read that Covid can cause things like this for up to a year or more. I would like to think that one day it will all stop when I am fully recovered from Covid or something.

Honestly, there are no 'better carbs' when it comes to insulin resistance. It is the amount of carbs you consume in a day, that matters. Also, how FREQUENTLY you eat. Try to skip breakfast, and eat only in a 5-6 hour window of time, and then do not eat at night. That will help right away, but if you can, avoid grains and sugar! Enemy number 1. You must have access to meat, fish, seeds, nuts, dairy, and vegetables, right? Also don't eat too much sweet fruit it has a LOT of sugar and carbs, too. Berries are better. Protein, and vegetables, mostly.

Off topic but I have to say this. My husband went to the doctor having problems with acid reflux and they found an ulcer in the stomach. Well she wanted to put him on PPIs and some other stuff to heal the ulcer. I told him he needs to look this up before he agrees to take this. Showed him some videos from Dr. Berg. After the videos he decided these drugs were not a good idea and started taking the advice that Dr. Berg gave. Everything is so much better now, he doesn't need these drugs. I use natural medicine myself and this was no surprise to me but it was to my husband He said even his inflammation was less. If you can heal something naturally, it's better than any drug with horrible side effects. This is just my own opinion.

This is just...It's outstanding...while it makes me happy to see this information it also makes me very sad. 2 years ago I used to be a high functioning individual. A slew of catastrophic events occured one after another losing 5 immediate family members, rear ended twice sustaining severe back injuries, and I became extremely sick with covid 4 times over the course of 19 months. I stayed home and ended up getting sick from my brother and my fiance who's work refused to send people home when they had covid. I began having gastrointestinal issues so extreme I was vomiting over 10 times a day. It ate at my teeth, I gained weight, due to my injuries but changed my diet and I still cannot get it off...my back is in excruciating pain every day, I dont sleep well at all..my hair is thinning..and knotting easily..I have acne or boils all over my forehead and chin..hairs on my chin..and ive spiraled into a state of emotional dysregulation and dysfunction. I've pleaded with doctors to take tests that will tell me the root of what is going on. They said my thyroid was way off..then it wasn't then it was..then the doctor left and I was left without one for months on end not having anyone to help me or tell me what to do other than going to urgent care. I've fought tooth and nail to regain my sense of self to function and navigate my life again. It is being trapped in a version of myself that is foreign to me..a version of me that fights off all I am as a person..I never in my entire life thought it was possible to lose control over life this way. I believed if you were resilient and didn't give up, you'd get through it..While I refused to give up..I fell harder..and still ended up in a place I feared most.
It saddens me the most that my well being is dependent on and at the mercy of physicians who could care less. While there are one in a million doctor like @Dr. Berg who actually genuinely wholeheartedly gives information that translates to self care ...care that we shouldn't plead for from doctors everywhere...I'm sure he's heard it a million times..But I'm not sure he truly understands the magnitude of just how much hope and healing he provides..I've repeatedly given doctors the benefit of the doubt. Having faith the next isn't the same as the one before. And it always is.
It breaks my heart. I'd have offed myself a long time ago. But I can't allow myself to accept the fact that there's no one who can help. If Dr. Berg exists..there must be others out there.. I know I'm not the only one suffering. At this point I'm doing as much as I can to the extreme. And at most times the symptoms ive come to experience, overpower my ability to function. Im ashamed to say it but I know how far ive fallen. Life continues to move while I feel left behind. Im trying to navigate Dr. Bergs videos in attempt to narrow what exactly could be going on with me. And where to begin in an accurate way. To self diagnose can lead you to believe you have things you don't. I wish to God I'd be blessed enough to find someone like @Dr. Berg. And I keep praying I will. I need to be able to contribute to society, actively and have a purpose. Rather than whatever it is I am right now. If anyone has had these symptoms...please share..if you don't mind..or please let me know where I begin? Lastly..if you know of a good doctor who can just tell me what tests to take to find out what is going on truly I would forever be so sooo so grateful. I'm a stranger yes but I swear you'd change my life. Thank you

I feel for you and I am so sorry you are experiencing all this! Though I cannot offer any medical advice I just wanted to say you are not alone, there are so many unexplainable things happening in the past 5 plus years, something is really off healthwise. Medical community is largely ignoring it because they have no idea what is causing all this sudden drop in general health and everchanging symptoms. I have experienced a sudden drop in my own health in the past 7 years but even after all the testing (which basically was abnormal, then normal), nothing was concluded and I was told "it's just part of aging...I am 55. You would think a 55 year old person would still be at it's prime considering there are NO CHRONIC CONDITIONS whatsoever? And yet I have some of your symptoms, poor sleep, pains and aches all over, oral sensitivity, weird allergies, gained weight that I can't get rid off no matter how healthy I eat, in general, falling apart at seams. So I understand your frustration and desperation very well. I bet there are a lot of people out there that feel the same but we are left in the medical limbo for now. People like Dr Berg and Dr Mandell offer some hope for us at the end of the tunnel we are struggling to get out, and they are very much appreciated. Linamarie, if you didn't check it out yet, see if you can visit an Endocrinologist who will do in-depth testing and hopefully find the core reason for your condition. And lastly, don't lose hope, stay strong, keep moving, don't succumb to depression, stay active mind and body. Sending you lots of hugs, love and light. Good luck!

I am very sorry reading about your suffering and as i have had my share in suffering, i understand that your medical symptoms are the pain you suffer because of the loss of those five people. The pain is in your soul coming out through your body. You will have to work on the loss of your loved ones, learning to accept that they are not there any more. Do not try to figure out what is wrong with you. You are just completely out of balance, the floor is swept under your feet. You have lost your grounding.
Acceptance is the key, let these five people go, and your body will respond. You will need a good therapist for this.
Look after your body as well by following the videos of dr. Berg, to help the process, and the restoration of the body, but work mostly on the mental health.

I love your videos. I just watched this one about ‘causes of inflammation’. You mentioned that you are highly allergic to poison ivy. So was I, until I was about 22 years old. Someone gave me the idea to eat goat cheese. Because goats eat those poison ivy/oak/sumac plants; they have developed antibodies or resistance of some type. I kid you not, after a year or two of eating goat cheese consistently, not a single outbreak.
Sometimes a bump will pop up, and then it goes away. I have had zero outbreaks since including goat cheese in my diet. Even if I don’t eat it for months at a time. I am SO interested in what you think about this.

I believe that a lot of women who get breast exams, the traditional ones, are injuring their breasts, every time. Those machines crush breast cells every time, which is damaging. There are much better ways to check the breasts, like infrared photographing, I believe that's what it's called, something like that. Sorry if I have that wrong, I've had it done years ago, and I've forgotten what it was, lol. It's a safe kind of imaging. I had a full body one done. It locates inflammation in the body as well as all sorts of things, even tumors in the breasts, way, way before mammograms can.
Also, it's a very provable, mefical fact that women who have had abortions have a much higher breast cancer rate, as well as other female cancer rates, because of scar tissue, but with the breast...when a woman is pregnant, her mamory glands begin producing many many cells, in the milk glands, very quickly and the breasts are making many many changes to prepare for the baby. VWhen a baby is suddenly aborted, all the mamory gland breast tissues die suddenly, so there are large clumps of dead cells, sitting in the breasts, which invites cancer.

Great question. Theres isn't any scientific answer, but a doctor suggested to me to always have breaks to help the body normalize vitamins storage and reboot body function. The body is an incredible machine, which adapt and try to heal itself all the time, if we depend on supplements outside of whole foods, the body will just count on them to work properly instead of adjusting its mechanics to work better without them. However some supplements should be taken without breaks if its purpose is to avoid unmanageable pains or allergies. You can do 4 week on, 1 week off for example.
