Mercedes W212 | Sun Curtains Retrofit Installation

- How to retrofit rear sun curtains / sun shades (code 297 roller blind) for Mercedes-Benz E-Class W212 estate and sedan. This is done on my E220 2016 former taxi with 570.000 kilometer.
This works for all W212 estate and sedan models such as E220 E250 E350 E63. The only difference from sedan and estate is the actual roller blind is different.

Found at Swedish site selling used car parts. These door sides are a bit hard to find in the used market but try search eBay also!

I actually found this at eBay from England and the price was 🔥 Had some luck. Is could be worth asking the seller on bildelsbasen some do send abroad.

Hello master. I've got a question, my sun roller trim is not black colour, is just like a dark grey colour, do you know what model Code is it?

And what size the drill bit should i use ? I mean how many Diameter(mm)

Glad to hear it, I put enormous effort in this to get nice handhold shots and also the edit : )
It probably looks fast and easy but that’s definitely not case when video these things 😁 without video one door side is 2 minutes with video 15 min ~ many times I have to redo the shots because camera focus goes bad or to shaky image. Like the first panel I did make 5 retakes 😜

Can we get contet for W211, they are old and cheap to have fun with + das diagnosis is much cheaper then xentry on the used market
I had some plans for that before! But actually is so reliving sometimes to just make stuffs and not video. These videos take a lot of energy and time and even if is fun I kinda also like just sometimes not make them.

These are about 400 euro each, but they come completely stripped so you still need to transfer all panels to them or transfer sun trim to the ones you got now.

I must specify that you have to be careful when handling the blinds, sometimes the passengers are not very delicate: make sure that the little black handle that you hold to lift the blind is always horizontal; If it ends up vertical when the blind goes down, then the blind will disappear in the door and that's the start of a nice problem to recover it without dismantling! Lived thing!

That's a lot of working time
I have a 2013 estate version of this car in a high trim level (Avantgarde Bluefficiency SE, I think) and I wonder about the amount of plastic and the quality of it. I also have a 211 estate from 2003 (Also Avantgarde) and somehow, that car feels to have a higher finish. How they charged around £40k for one of these as new is beyond me.
