    I just did this on my 2013 with an aftermarket Ebay seat cover. The attaching points to the blue clips are done differently, with plastic tubing which still attaches but allows the cover to "slide" fore and aft into a settled position once installed. Also the perimeter attaching stripping is different than OE but holds very securely and the cover looks and is tight. Overall It looks excellent. If you really really look close, the stitching holes are a smite wider on the Ebay cover I purchased. Aside from that it looks stellar and at 146 US is less than half the price of OE ( about 390 If I recall), and at least in the US it was available in a few days. The plug for the seat heater is very hard to unclasp and I had to use a small screwdriver to eventually free it up. Also on my car I have a light that illuminates the rear passenger footwell. Just sort of goes in there wedged between the seat cushion and the rear seat rail. Tricky to figure out. Taking the seat heater out on mine involved the dislodging of some adhesive from the felt which has to be done super carefully or you risk breaking the fine wires there. Thankfully for me all still works fine and was able to secure the plastic routing clips to the metal frame. Thank so much for this video. TBH I would not have done this job without your video. My US spec 2013 E350 was slightly different than your car. Once your committed to this job, you have to finish it as you know. There is no turning back after the cover is removed. Thanks again for your videos.

    OMG! I just did it by my self on my 2013 E350 . This is the hardest thing i ever done in my life (50 years) time. I will never ever will do it again. Its very hard to unclip heater wires. Then when i was installing pulling on new leather cover seat, i gave up like 100 times, because its hard. But somehow i finished and complete it whole seat repair.

    This is a great tutorial and extremely informative. Two additional possible tips. First, once you get the seat cover on, perhaps let it sit in the sun for a little while to make it more pliable before 2: make sure the impressions of the wires of the metal base match as closely as possible to the impressions in the cushion 'foam' when you pull the new death cover tight. Believe me, you will be soooo much happier.

    It's not as easy as it looks, but it is exactly as shows. Pay attention to the order of things going back, especially starting with attaching the front of the cover first. Push until the plastic clips click into place. Also watch the routing of the under seat wires so they go back in the same place. I have a compartment in front of my seat (2010 E350 Sport Premium P02 with AMG options) and that took 2 screws to get out.

    Just did this on my 14 e350 and almost quit several times throughout the way. The covers are cut to fit and do not have much room for slack; so it was VERY difficult to clip in. For tip: let the cover bake outside in the sun to let the leather expand a bit. And before putting it on the cushion, make sure all the edges are folded in position. It will make it much easier than trying to flip once you get it on. Another note - the heater plug is very hard to put back in. Wear some gloves for grip, get yourself in a good position and push it in as hard as you can.
    The build on this car is absolute crap. I’m convinced I want to trade it in now

    Excellent job, great and very informative video! Thanks so much for sharing your skills. Still, I think it's a real shame that Mercedes-Benz seat covers are so prone to crack and tear. This "Artico" faux-leather really can't withstand the test of time. It's a very well known issue, and many Mercedes cars suffer from this "disease". The W212/S212 E-Classes seem to be particularly likely to fail in this department. A good advice to those who are looking for a Mercedes : look for one that has the optional Nappa leather. Mine has it, and it's aging amazingly well. Plus, the look and feel is on another level!

      Lovely to hear, I always try my best to show the important steps 🙏 Never come across air vented seat is kinda rare here probably because mostly is cold here in Arctic. But from what I seen is should be two fans inside the heat, they could probably be the cause of the fault.
      Would recommend to do a fault scan with OBD reader before you remove the seat cover, could save you lots of time especially if is something other than the fans that are broken.

    Great video. I just did my 2014 E350. There is a foot light in the back seat which needs to come loose. Also the heater plug was a bear to remove. I used the skinny nose vice grips cross wise to finally wrench the plug out. The seat cover product was after market ebay. My advice is not to buy the aftermarket. The fit is not exact and it took several hours to fit the cover. I had to remove material from the edge clip on the two radius which I noticed the original cover was trimmed. And I snipped two more areas to relieve strain because of poor fit.

    You seams to have the higher trim level seats with some buttons for adjustement.
    What can you adjust with those buttons?
    I have seen several variants of the seat, one with roling buttons and one with switches/press buttons.
    I have seen that it is possible to buy used seats with the roling buttons for aprox 900 EUR/seat but I do not know what I will get and if they will fit in my car that currently not have the buttons, only the standard electric seat without the memory function. I have a E 220 CDI sedan from 2014.

      Got this text sent to me from a Mercedes friend in the us. Thanks Tommy M 🇺🇸
      “Do NOT use OEM hood emblem. It will scratch the hood paint. You will need aftermarket 45MM hood emblem. MB never made the correct size for pre facelift w212
      www.ttlet.com/mercedes-benz-amg-45mm-hood-emblem
      You can only get the aftermarket 45mm. Any OEM sizes will chip your paint on your hood. The newer E classes have a different hood star size and many people buy the oem part. They end up chipping the paint and it’s a horrible look.”

      Yess they unclip and clip back to place really easy not much to bother about, is pretty straightforward. But all depend on your personal (skills) I have never done any like this cover replacement before and for some steps I had no proper instructions but I figure out after the road.
      Best tip don’t stress and have the tools needed and you would fix this. Some parts are bit annoying as to stretch back the new cover but because of the clips is hard to put it wrong. Go for it 👍

    • @johnzito125
      @johnzito125 2 роки тому

      I did and I just installed it 2 days ago. Black interior, all looks great, car has 50k Miles if that helps you reference it any as far as wear. It is made differently but still attaches no problem. The part you sit on and see has the same pattern as Mb tex which is what I have in my car. In some ways the attaching parts are actually better IMO. Appearance wise it is excellent. The stitching is very slightly different (wider stitch slightly I think) and the cover is of course a bit newer looking which would be the same as a new MB one because well...its newer. Getting the heater unplugged from under the seat is a nightmare. I ended up using a small screwdriver to dislodge the clips (Siamesed black and white which on this video come right out) and they still clipped back in when I was done so no harm no foul at least on my job. The seat heater is a bit of a butt pucker when you remove it but take your time is all I can tell you. But to answer your question, I did use the ebay cover and the one I received worked very well and I am one picky dude.

    • @MB212
      @MB212  3 роки тому

      Hi bro! In this case I first would do a fault scan. Because when not removing battery and disconnect things like seat heater cables it could give you fault codes and not working after plug in, that’s why it could be good to remove battery before assembling, and if your unlucky you could fry some electrical things. But it could also be broken heat elements they are kinda fragile.
