- How to replace front and rear doors speakers and sound dampening door for Mercedes-Benz E-Class W212, same procedure goes for many newer Mercedes-benz models. This model had the basic speakers with audio 20 unit that’s why I don’t bother too trash the old speakers because they don’t have much value in used market.
If you have better sound system or don’t want to brake the old speakers then you could use bracket like this amzn.to/34KEc3O but if you got better original sound system you may consider a change may not be worth it.
You could use many other 6.5 speakers. Here you could se the specific for the speakers I used. For most install in original bracket you need to grind the bracket edges to get good fitting.

Yah would be the easiest to cut all speakers in place without removing rivets. Dremel got broken while ago but it’s was not much of a deal to use hacksaw blade 👊

hi, i do the same job. Thx a lot, the sound is really good and i enjoy my s212 because the mercedes sound is really bad. The tricky part is the clip at 1:10 difficult to remove. The size of the woofers is a little bit to big to fit in the hole, and finally it is not necessary to buy so much sound deadening
Any advice on how to replace the center dash speaker? Mine is broken and I have to replace it. I don’t know how to remove the grill

NICE! all my 4 stock speakers (2012 W212) broken also (just few weeks ago) , I search for the DIY and thanks for share your great job !! I'm pending to buy 2 pairs of 6.5" JBL GTO629 (CO-Axial), but I saw you removed your newly installed Rockford Fosgate (CO-Axial) speaker and replace it with just woofer unit. Please give me some advice that I should buy woofer unit or co-axial, as the broken stock speak also not co-axial type. Or any combination of it ? e.g 2 woofer at front and 2 co-axial at rear . Questions please. I need to replace all door speakers and I have the standard ones. So up front I need separate 2 way speakers. What about the rear? You installed a woofer only. Is there no tweeter in the rear? Can you install coaxial speakers in the rear doors and will they play treble? What about an amplifier? Needed or not?

Very nice video I am so impressed with the sound system.. it would be nice if you could show us how to upgrade the Bluetooth system to play music from our phones .. I have the same command system as yours but Bluetooth streaming doesn’t work with the hidden menu
Thanks was really happy with this install now the sounds it’s good. Not sure why some of the audio 20 unit don’t have Bluetooth could it be the older models? Can do some digging into that later.
Go into ‘engineering mode’ and enable Bluetooth audio.
For Bluetooth audio streaming from your phone, you may try to search some UA-cam videos guiding you to go into ‘engineering mode’ directly from the head unit. Hope this this helps.

PLEASE HELP!! Had another Harmon Kardon speaker smoke up the car .. sure the amp is bad but need advice on going back all factory and working with that Dual VC 2ohm system or other ideas. In garage w amp fuses out waiting to decide. Thanks to you or a viewer who’s made this decision

I used adapters on mine and also used RTV sealant to seal the speakers to the adapters so there was no blowby causing distortion i am thinking about doing the sound deadening though
Nice I was thinking about the sealant but somehow I forgot about it. Proper work from you side there, what kind of adapters did you use for rear doors, and you had to remove door plate I guess?
@@MB212 no basically I ripped thr cones out of the rear speakers and drilled them out as you can rivet the adapters in from the front as you screw the new speakers into them and they are A class front speaker adapters 👌🏻

Its worth it...sound improvement from speakers and quieter cabin...buy all weather floor mats for more noise isolation
Would say it’s take away some noise but the biggest difference was the sound quality and I assume the dampening did some of it. Would say it’s worth it because sound dampening I used cost like 25€ for all doors, if you have a whole day for spare go for it. Not sure about your car model sorry.

For now is only videos for W212 and coming for W124 that’s the car I own and working on. Not sure where you could find it the brand are (silent coat) I buy this from Swedish website www.brl.se they selling it out really cheap now 70% you could check if they ship it to you.

Great video broo . How to differ the positive from negative after cutting the original wires ?

Yess in the rear doors I got tweeters inside the panel. But did not change them!

Sound improvement and I notice it’s bit quieter one the road I drive with Nokian Hakkapelitta 9 studded. These are pretty extrem many don’t like them because of all studs they do some noise and I would say it’s better. But mostly better sound.

Tvärt mätte jag aldrig upp det när jag gjorde monteringen. Yess original allt annat och inget delningsfilter.

No aftermarket now and before I had regular. Would not advise to change if you already have Harman Kardon system in the car.
My e300 200 w212 domestic edition is not including Amplifier. Is that suitable for replace 4 Audison speakers Like this Video?
Same goes for this car on video only the standard system so is it possible to change the speakers to audison or similar.

MB212, How about the audio quality after 9 months using these Audison speakers?
I don’t really recommend to change tweeters if you not into the audio stuffs and know how to because I know some have some problems after change.
The problem for the rear speakers if you want to keep them you actually need to take apart the whole door plate sitting with rivets that’s are pretty hard to remove, that’s why I choose to brake them, is pretty good price for them in used market also.
But I like you want to do it the right way I actually feel really bad to brake them, but I decide is not worth the problem remove the whole door plate.
I don’t know where you buy the brackets for rear door.
The speaker was great, but now when thinking about it if you have function original speakers is hard to say if is worth the change, I had a broken original from before in the front that’s why I mainly changed them all.
This car is sold a while ago but they did work flawlessly 👍

Har original i min men har ju även den sämre audio 20 stereon
Köpte dessa från BRL 800 kr paret. Tycker det blev bättre men svårt och säga hur slitna dom gamla original högtalaren var samt gjorde nog ljudisoleringen även sitt. Men bättre blev det men om de är värt o byta ett fungerande system vill jag inte svara på. Är svårt o få riktigt grymt ljud utan förstärkare och allt annat som sig bör.
@@MB212 jaha. Enligt länken var det inga dyra högtalare. Tror nog med att dämpa dörren och fixa en bättre stereo.

I don’t know really, not educated in car audio much at all. Basically took the audisons because they where on sale.
Focals are top of the line you can usually tell from the price. Focals are very expensive. I think I'm talking about the same speakers I've never heard them called focal morel, I thought it's just focal unless it's 2 completely different brands.

I do not understand why Mercedes and Toyota use Rivet screws, their ridiculous. Need lots of time to remove by using drill. But as from what I know, Mercedes rivet screws seems much easier to remove than Toyota. Toyota is just pure garbage with their rivet screws.

I have the same feeling about the rivets taking much time to remove, especially the one in steel that’s used for door plate, headache to remove them. These normal rivets are ok but not big fan of it. But it looks nice ☺️
