- In this episode on our Crate Racin USA Metric Street Stock Build I am showing how I installed a new Fire Bottle Brand Fire Suppression System in the Race Car. This is some of the best safety equipment I have ever worked with and is a real gamer changer for me increasing the level of safety in my Race Car Build.
Dirt Race Life is all about grass roots Dirt Track Racing both the technical how to and the at track action with us focusing on Street Stock Racing like CRUSA SS, Factory Stock, Pure Street, Stock, Etc.

What a awesome part to get sponsored. Looks great Jason. I may have to install one myself can never be too safe. Fire is definitely one of the scariest parts of racing.
Yes sir, it was much appreciated and now that I have done one, I think this is going to be in everything I do from now on.
Glad to see you being a safer driver
I think safety is something we all have to just constantly work at.
Good Job again my friend. Lookin forward to all those victory lane celebrations coming up soon !
We keep on grinding away and one day we will look up and be in Victory lane.
It’s coming soon !
Great job as always Jason.
Thank you sir
Love the vids. I have just one thing to note, coming from my wife, a fire fighter, you DO NOT want the nozzle directly at your body. You want to the PUSH the fire away from you.
I get what you are saying but not sure there is a good way to apply that in this drivers compartment. but I agree for sure.
@@DIRTRACELIFE Yeah, I don't either to be honest. I had the same struggles with mine. Everything requires a compromise so the best you can do is mitigate the risks the best you can.
Love the show, see ya at the track!
wish we had one
It's a first for me but hopefully becomes a standard on all my cars from now on.
Firebottles required in nj as of last year. Think that manual pull cable should be mounted to the left of the driver and clearly marked in case of a serious accident track officials can reach and activate. Just my .02
I ended up with that spot after looking at how the whole dash was fiberglass and was removable. I went with that spot thinking I wanted it to still be easily accessible by me and also visible and accessible to anyone standing at the car as well.
Looks awesome. I hope you never have to use it.
Me TOO!
Your comment isn’t very smart! Apparently you haven’t mounted very many suppression systems in race cars. It’s centrally located, no kinks in the tubing or the hose and the pull cable isn’t bound up or binding. Only thing I think would have done differently is the mounting location of the pull cable.( more out in front of you visible and easily reachable while you’re strapped in) Unless Jason can easily access it with being strapped in helmet and fire suit on. Then it’s perfectly fine!
Hey Tim,
I did climb in and make sure that spot was out in front of my right arm where I can just naturally reach across and grab it with the left but also went up that high so I can grab it with my right hand as well. The reason I didn't go in the dash was because of it being a fiberglass Dash I am planning to make removable with all the electronics in it. I would have had to do something permanent and rigid to run that cable through it. But in hindsight I should have covered that as well in the video because the most practical spot would be right out in front of one of your hands and making it removable is what drove that change.
@@DIRTRACELIFE As long as it works for you that’s what matters! I figured that you thought it through! I didn’t even think about you having a fiberglass dash in it.
Do you ever come up to Michigan or near ?
No sir, Most of my travels are in the Southeast for the day job.
Dam , I have lead bars from dirt track racing a pro truck in Houghton Lake , mid Michigan that I would have given you !
Seriously odd timing, I went and got 125lbs more this morning that I plan to smelt into 40lb bricks this weekend!
That's not a smart place too put that
After reviewing the information from FireBottle it was the best location for this build but I agree each racer should make sure they install theirs in the best location for their car.
@@DIRTRACELIFE drive shaft right there
I think camera angle is probably very misleading in this regard making it look very close when in reality it is significantly different in location. I run safety hoops as well on both ends and it is not at all able to get to this fire system.
