    I'd still pick the Traverse. Nice effort by Ford though. Big improvement over last year's model.
    Also, I think you guys should mention the base price in your pricing section. Yeah, these high trims are over $50k, but the base trims both start in the high $30's. Just worth a mention... since alot of us aren't really looking to buy the fully loaded versions. Just a thought.

      What are your true and honest thoughts on the 2024 Chevy Traverse? There are a plethora of reports of Transmission failures at less than 1000 miles, component failures within the new vehicle already. I was alarmed at the reports seen on Facebook Group: ** Chevy Traverse Problems **. Also, will Chevrolet consider a V6 engine option in the next year? Overall, is the 2024 Chevy Traverse reliable and built to last at least 10 years or more / robust?

      Don't do it!! 😂😂😂 Read up on the Traverse and read up well. Chevrolet makes the worst SUVs on the planet and this one was their crowning achievement. I'm no Ford fanboy either I have my concerns about the Explorers 2.3 engine. Toyota and Honda SUVs are actually worth the $35k-$50k. Look there 1st.

I miss the days of just having 5 seater proper SUV’s, cool station wagons, small SUV’s that didn’t number in the 100’s (CR-V, RAV4, Forester, Chevy Tracker, Sportage ect) and the moms had the minivans. Traverse body with the Ford powerplant. It would be perfect! Plus GMs Super Cruise is unparalleled in operation and refinement.
    The Traverse is the only true answer to the Toyota GH but you seem to get more for your money with the GM than you do for the more expensive Grand Highlander. The Chevy also allows buyers that need more space but not Tahoe-level of girth to have another option. I just wish GM would allow an option of a V6 or turbo-4 hybrid to rival the Toyota and Ford for power to match the sporty looks of the RS.

    • @G-Rated
      @G-Rated Місяць тому +3

      Fair! Perhaps a Traverse SS hybrid will come later if demand is high enough but 21 mpg isn’t bad at all for a vehicle of the Traverse’s size. Nearly 330 hp means it’s also no slouch.

    • @hellkitty1014
      @hellkitty1014 Місяць тому +1

      @@G-Rated i agree! From a stop, the GM gets the job done for sure. I will miss the smoothness of the LFX 3.6L V6 but the 2.5L does have better low-end torque for sure. I'm sure GM will find a way to add power, given both of its chief rivals offer more. BUT this is definitely more than the H/K twins.

No auto-dimming or auto-fold side-view mirrors, no auto-dimming rearview mirror, no entry keypad, no V6, no ventilated seats, among others. It has a good navigational system than the rest, more luxurious, and the driving experience is much more exciting than any of the SUV in that price point. Great job. However, the way you allocate points is inconsistent. The Chevy 2.5 litre engine will not hold up as well as the 3.0 litre in the Explorer, so the resale value is not accurate due to the new untested Chevy engine. Also, the Explorer has the 2.3 litre engine that can get 28mpg highway that crushes the Chevy and is a very proven engine. I sold trucks for both Ford and Chevy and Chevy always has more repair issues on the small engines than Ford.

    Go back and look at the 2011 Ford Explorer and then look at the 2025 Explorer. Ford just slapped on a new front end, rear end and some other tweaks. Same goes with the interior. I'm sure the dash and door panels still click in the same spots. Talking about stretching profits...

  • @TheAwareHuman

    The dash on the Explorer seems to be creating a claustrophobic interior space. It’s just disproportionately designed. Buttons. Screen with massive bezels. But then tiny buttons. It’s weird. The 5th gen facelifted Explorer was the best. 6th gen has been a disaster both design and manufacturing quality wise. CNBC made a whole video about it. It saddens me Ford is so behind. Expect more from the automotive company that built the first car on a production line. Why is Ford lagging behind so much? Why are they the most recalled brand? Why are they so bad? Why!?? It just baffles me and upsets me.

    I was leaning toward Chevy, but recently had a conversation with my trusted auto body shop guys and they did NOT recommend Chevy or any GM or Kia or Hyundai. They even had a 2017 chevy in the shop to replace an engine. Your reliability rating does not align with what they have seen come through they shop

    I'd take the Explorer. It has the power and it does not have the fuel pump module issue that so many of the GM vehicles are having. My only complaint with the Explorer is the price and the interior to some degree.

      Infiniti just put its very problematic VC-Turbo into the QX60 and it loses power against the sturdy VQ V6.

      @@AlrounderrrrChevrolets are reliable, and you cannot group all *gm* products as a monolith and the same. With that logic Ford has more recalls than all four *gm* brands combined. Have you forgot all the Explorer and Aviators Ford was forced to buy back due to major electronic gremlins and other issues?

    👍👍👍 both beautiful but definitely TRAVERSE. cheaper, bigger, better hands free, an acute all new design and vehicle, more attractive, better resale & more reliable. That's alot for the money. Fords having more recalls than any other brand is insane. And the Explorers body is still the same. It needs a full refresh, not just a new front face & new tail lights. No. Chevy ❤

    I have been driving ford edge and various rentals for the last few years and I can tell you that Ford drive quality as far as speed, horses, and torque is better than Chevy. I enjoy driving them but prefer the look of the Chevy Traverse. Ford better for drive performance Chevy better for looks.
