This is one of those long, slow cooked dishes that you don’t have to stand over to make, but rather visit as flavors and aromas of lamb, Barolo wine, tomatoes and onions, porcini mushrooms, bacon, oranges and cloves, all merge in perfect harmony. This was a fun episode of Lidia's Italian Table.

Lydia has something very special about her. Growing up in Bensonhurst Brooklyn most of us were all middle-class Italian people cooking cleaning taking a break with a little homemade cookie some black coffee some regular brown coffee we all know each other the hard times for us for me helping my mom I loved it I never thought of it as hard times I just thought but that’s the way it was and I was fine with it I wish today people had but we had growing up respect for each other helping your mom to things in the garden with her I would love to go back to those times may be when it’s my time to go to heaven will all be together up there 🥹🙃
The simple things seem to be even now the best things I still cook all the poor man dishes that’s what my mom call them string beans and potatoes linguine garlic and I’ll delicious big omelettes that now today we called him quiche Patata cut up some onions different peppers I don’t like green peppers for this dish make a nice big frittata some fresh crusty Italian bread as a glass of Vino who is better than us God bless , my Mom made everything from scratch, my mom was the meaning of a real true mom. I was born in italy. We always cooked our meat not ate bloody raw meat.
