“If Thor can’t defeat him, who the fuck will.” Watching Thor and Hulk get bodied 2 minutes into the movie was shocking. I sat in the theater wondering “well what now”. It was the perfect intro to show how unprepared and outmatched the avengers were going to be throughout the movie.
This movie was absolutely unmatched. The theatre was absolutely silent while everyone was leaving. Gamora knew where the Soul Stone was. That’s why Thanos took her so he could have Gamora tell him and he used Nebula to get her to talk and tell him where to find the Soul Stone. That’s why she asked Quill to kill her because if she’s dead then Thanos has nobody left to love. If Thanos has no one to love then he can’t obtain The Soul Stone.
It definitely felt different watching this before there was a Loki series. The show still wasn't announced until after we saw Endgame where Loki from the first Avengers film got ahold of the Tesseract and dip dipped potato chip out of there. Gamora asking Peter to kill her was about the soul stone, not about “I’m not going back.” That’s why she burned the map to the stone and she couldn’t tell Peter what it was she knew, because then he would be another source of info. She was helping Thanos track down stones for years before she left. She knew exactly what the stones were and what he was going to do with them and she was trying to prevent it, even if it meant dying to keep the information from him. She even said earlier if he gets all six stones he can wipe out half the universe “with a snap of his fingers.” She knew the plan and was trying to stop it.
Among all the other sadistic little details of this ending, I love that the final credits text, instead of saying "The Avengers Will Return" instead says "Thanos Will Return." Like what a middle finger. 😂

Great reaction 😃 FYI - Many don't understand why Thanos knew Tony. Well before Loki was sent to New York in the first Avengers movie - Thanos had the mind stone himself. It made him familiar with everything that stone could help him familiarize himself with. - Like if you remember in the first Avengers, Loki knows about the Avengers.
