Watching this in cinemas when it came out was like nothing else. Just the solemn, quiet, and somber atmosphere after the movie was over. I remember just sitting there with my cousins in silence until we remembered that we had to stand up and leave. I was so impressed that Marvel actually had the balls to let the villain win this time. Infinity War will always be one of Marvel’s best movies for me.

Eh, the moment they turned Black Panther and Spider-Man to dust, it undermined the entire ending. They should've (temporarily) killed off heroes who weren't 100% guaranteed to return. Hell, Disney doesn't even own the movie rights to Spider-Man, so we knew he'd be back.

Yeah see but they can't. That honestly why there's been such a turn in this fandom lately. So many people binged these movies during Covid and experienced none of the culture around these films. They didn't wait months or years between films, they didn't share in the excitement of trailers coming out. They consumed it like junkfood and now aren't satisfied with the films because they don't truly mean anything to them. These two binged these movies in a few months and even in that short time frame still struggle with basic plot points from one film to the next. It's sad.

@@chand911 I think the films still hold up when watching them in order. They were written and done to be enjoyed regardless. But I agree completely that nobody who watches these films on their own will ever understand the build up and amazing experience of these movies. My friends and I went to the midnight release at the cinema, and I still remember the eerie silence of the room when the credits started to roll. Normally, people would start to gather their things and leave but not a single person moved or spoke until the lights came back on after the end credits scene. And even still, someone finally broke the silence and just said "Holy shit".

I had tickets for the first weekend show also and the audience were different, it was more of a regular audience while the late night showing are for the die hard fans... On the weekend the reaction was very different... there were folks who couldn't hold it and were crying, you could hear a few people here and there crying in a packed theater. The first night show was absolute silence... I think we couldn't believe it that Thanos won.

The only movie ever to leave me absolutely speechless. A culmination of 20 past superhero movies, and it resulted in a villain victory?? Absolutely adored this movie with every fiber in my being :)

    • @ltsallwood
      @ltsallwood Рік тому +16

But everyone knew it would all go back to normal in the next movie, that's the problem. They should of ended the entire franchise at this movie, and never done Endgame, because otherwise it's just too predictable. Superhero movies are just too over the top anymore and predictable, which takes away the fun.

    • @KingJomedia
      @KingJomedia Рік тому +15

@@ltsallwoodI 100 % agree. You know what would've made Endgame better for me personally? If the original avengers died instead of new ones. That would've made it less predictable. I mean, at that point, everybody knew Black Panther and Spider-Man were new characters in the mcu. I didn't believe, for one second that they were permanently dead.
If the OG's died instead, they could've given us a better story of the remaining characters, including Captain Marvel, to figure out how to bring back the OG's. 🙏🏾

What's dumb is making the most powerful character in Infinity War, Thor, the weakest in Endgame. Let's not even start with the Hulk.
It's like the directors realized they had too many powerful characters and nerfed them into the ground :D We could've gotten an amazing story exploring the new characters and their ability to work as a team. That would've been a perfect set up for the next phase. Instead they made the whole movie about the OG's and now that most of them are gone, people think the mcu is pretty much over. 😳🙏🏾

One little thing about Spider-Man's reaction that sometimes gets missed. The reason he was so emotional wasn't because he's "a kid", it's because with his heightened Spidey Sense he felt his own demise coming AND he could probably feel the anguish of those vanishing around him. He was hyper aware of a universal mass extinction event in a way that he couldn't process.

This was a brilliant movie. We are so conditioned to expect the good guys win in the end. As movie watchers we were pulled out of our comfort zone with this ending. So? What does that have to do with literally anything? Starlord didn't know it was part of the plan. He just fucked up. Sure, the fuck up did inevitably contribute to the win, but that doesn't make it not a fuck up. It was still an incredibly stupid thing to do.

I don’t think there could ever be another movie to replicate what we all experienced in theaters and at home for those that didn’t have the opportunity to watch it in theaters. My dad being one of them. He was so excited and so into the movie that when it got to the part where Thanos plan work, my dad was silent. This is one of the ones that I've been on the edge of my seat waiting for you two to get to. LOL!
RIP always to Chadwick Boseman(King T'Challa/Black Panther) and William Hurt(Thaddeus Ross)!
Just in the first few minutes of this movie is off to a crazy start with the loss of Heimdall and Loki. I loved how Loki brought back Tony's "We have a Hulk" line from the first Avengers movie.
The team ups in this movie are perfect: Tony, Spider-Man, and Doctor Strange and then ending up with the remaining Guardians. Thor, Rocket, and Groot. And Steve, Sam, Natasha, Wanda, Vision, Bruce, and Rhodey with Bucky and the Wakandans.
Fun Fact #1: In the "Where is Gamora?", "Who is Gamora?' scene, Dave Bautista(Drax)improvised the "Why is Gamora?" line.
Fun Fact #2: That last scene between Tony and Peter/Spider-Man before Peter turned to dust was improvised by Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Holland.
Up next is "Ant-Man and the Wasp".
Looking forward to the next reaction. 😊

The opening Marvel Studios logo for this movie was made to celebrate the first ten years.
Even when the world is in trouble, Tony still lands the best jokes.
The four lackeys that were with Thanos are the Black Order: Ebony Maw, Proxima Midnight, Corvus Glaive, and Cull Obsidian.
Remember when Nebula said to Gamora that she was the sibling she hated the least? The Black Order are also Gamora and Nebula’s siblings by adoption.
The army of aliens that attacked Wakanda are called Outriders.
As Groot vanished, “I am Groot” in that moment was him saying “dad…”.
If you look closely, Wanda welcomed death. At that point, she felt she lost everything.
Spider-Man’s vanishing was the most painful to watch. Back in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Tony did say that he’d feel responsible if Peter died and didn’t want that piled on his conscience.
Just before he vanished, he apologized to his mentor feeling he didn’t do enough to stop Thanos but he gave it his all.
The Russo Brothers knew what they were doing. Spider-Man has been a fan favorite for years, and the MCU’s incarnation is a high school teen with a lot of potential. That’s why they made his death slow on purpose.

Thanos never said hulk was stronger. He just thought it will be more of problem if hulk get stronger but thanos is as strong or stronger then hulk.
'Avengers: Infinity War' Directors Explain in Detail Why Thanos Was Able to Beat Hulk
During a question and answer session following a special screening of Avengers: Infinity War, directors Joe and Anthony Russo revealed whether Thanos beat Hulk because he's just that powerful, or because he had that Power Stone at his disposal.
Joe Russo says it wasn't the Infinity Stones that beat Hulk, that was all Thanos.
"I would say that he's just that powerful," said Joe Russo. "You didn't see him actively use the Power Stone in the fight. I think ultimately the way we looked at that fight and the way we talked about it with our stunt team when we were executing it was Hulk is obviously very powerful but he's a little mindless in his fighting style. It's aggressive. It's pummeling. Thanos is the Genghis Khan of the universe. He's a very skilled fighter and equally as strong. So when you put those two up against each other, the more skilled fighter is going to win. Which is why Hulk has a moment where he overpowers Thanos, but ultimately Thanos is smarter."

Superhuman Strength: Thanos possesses vast superhuman strength the full limits of which aren't known. Death has increased his strength beyond the original limits to levels where he is far surpassing those of the physically strongest Eternals. He has proven capable of fighting Thor even when Thor had the Power Gem.[47] His strength is so vast that he has been able to defeat the likes of the Silver Surfer,[53] punch away an attacking Hulk,[91] physically subduing with ease Beta Ray Bill and Ronan the Accuser (as well as casually breaking apart the latter's Universal Weapon)[81] and, most impressively, tango with the mighty Tyrant.[156] He was also able to beat in melee fight the Hulk power-enhanced Annihilus.[82] Thanos can also augment his strength with his cosmic energy when needed but doing it rarely as his own power is mostly enough.[82] Thanos was also able to lift the Galactus Engine and recover it from the depths of Ego the Living Planet,[157] destroy a planet in a battle with Drax (in his first incarnation),[158] he was even able to fight hand-to-hand with a Phoenix Force empowered Thane with amped with the God Quarry. Thanos punched Thane into the planet they were fighting above and destroyed it by charging through him.[122]

Very true on the Hulk vs. Thanos fight; that was just Thanos beating up Hulk.
In every scene where Thanos uses the Infinity Gauntlet you can see which stones are being accessed and it really showcases Thanos' intelligence and imagination. When he "throws the moon" at Tony, you see the Power Stone light up to destroy the moon into chunks, and then you see the Space Stone light up as he teleports them down on to Tony. When Dr. Strange makes multiple illusions of himself and all of them tether Thanos, he activates the Reality Stone to reset reality back to what it should be and then the Soul Stone to discover which one is Dr. Strange, which is why you see Dr. Strange's spirit (or "soul") temporarily come out of his body and then reconnect to him.

What I love about this movie is that different than most of the Super Hero movies, when you feel like "its over, theres nothing they can do" the movie really delivers that. The heroes lose, because theres nothing they can do. I think that was amazing. I remember when the movie ended my theater was DEAD. Everyone was like "theres NO WAY they did that". One of the best theater experiences ever. That 1 year waiting for Endgame and making theorieswith the community was a great time. I hope Marvel can deliver some of that again.

The first sentence of the movie, Destiny always arrives. This was Thanos' movie. He did what he said he would do.
I love this movie so much, a whole decade of movies led to this movie. I remeber beeing speechless after this ending. AND WE HAD TO WAIT ANOTHER YEAR TILL ENDGAME!
Glad I could refeel this journey with you guys, great reactions.Thank you!!

He didn’t have the power stone activated while he was fighting hulk, so he’s just evenly matched normally to him

Thor took a minute getting there because if you pay attention he's destroying those huge alien structures in Wakanda. It also to me makes sense that Star lord would freak out like that because of the previous trauma of him losing his mom he couldn't stand that happening with Gamora.

    Star Lord: "Where is Gamora?"
Iron Man: "Yeah, I'll do you one better. WHO is Gamora?"
Drax: "I'll do YOU one better. WHY is Gamora?"
Love that bit, and that wasn't in the script!

Fun isn't something one considers when watching people see Infinity War, but this does put a smile on my face.

Like everyone has already said in the comments, your reaction was mirroed by us all. Stunned, emotionally wrecked, confused and out of our element from an expectation of a happy ending to a movie. You have 2 more movies until Endgame, being: "Ant-Man and the Wasp" followed by "Captain Marvel". Knowing that ahead of time and knowing the comics to some degree is why I stood up in the silence of the movie theater at the end and said, "Well, it's all up to Carol now." and I got quite a few confused looks.

Everyone was dejected and depressed after that. Then after many months people slowly had to learn to live again... I think Endgame was 3 months too late because to continue on with their lives the fans had to heal enough to be able to go to work and stuff. Endgame should have been a little closer but I think there were delays maybe.

      @@mannygee005 You're right man.
Being honest, for me this movie is MUCH BETTER than ENDGAME... but of course, when I went to see ENDGAME it gave me 3000 more years of life.
