What's the issue with not liking when a game runs at 30 frames per second (fps)? In my country, I pay $80 for a standard game. I don't quite grasp why someone having a different opinion is considered wrong. Some say 30 fps is acceptable, while others prefer higher, and when games are priced at $60 or more, they expect them to perform well. Take, for example, Ghost of Tsushima on PS5, which runs at 60 fps and 120Hz and was priced at $60. So why are they now asking $70-80 for a product that performs worse? It's akin to paying an double for a BMW M3 that performs worse.
You’re right. We are spoiled compared to decades ago. I’ve noticed a lot more negative criticism in general when it comes to technical analysis. It has gotten to the point where many have traded the simplicity of gaming for technical progression and almost completely forgotten what made gaming fun to begin with. Games don’t need to be technical marvels to be fun. However, I’d say the complaints are warranted given the misleading advertisement happening in the gaming industry today. People expect the high quality they pay for and become understandably disappointed when multiple leading industry parties don’t deliver what they promise. This is why triple-a gaming is faltering and indie/double-a gaming is succeeding. Simplicity is key and we both know that.

But the VRR window only begins at 48fps on PS5. Unless they give the option to use a 120hz container and allow LFC then it’s useless. Series X allows the user to select 120hz output and gain the benefit of Low Frame rate Compensation.
Man I wonder if it is super difficult to program the player being able to jump on monsters.. I know its obviously a decent amount of work, but I think a LOT more games should have it, it not only adds a lot, an extra cool dynamic, but it also looks soo badass.. And FUN!
As much as I looked forward to this game, I am genuinely shocked how badly they messed this one up in optimization, especially considering they just released Resident Evil 4 Remake that had no big issues running on PC. What on earth happened, Capcom?
If the PS5/XSX are struggling to run the game well, oh boy is PC in for a surprise. Cause a lot of PC's are around the consoles in performance given they pack a 3060. Several are also about 40%-ish faster given they pack 6700xt levels of performance but that won't be enough to get 60fps, probably even at 1080p, which is just absurd.
What GPU will you be running?, I’m using a 3090 but from what I hear you can’t get a solid 60fps with a 4090, which is a bit disappointing, hopefully a day one patch will help 🤞🏻

You'd think that by the time the PS4 came out we would start to see games run at 60 FPS minimum. Now we are 4 years into the PS5 and we still have games being made that can sometimes run at 30 FPS? Performance of a game should be top priority.
For consoles that is how it should be. But as a PC gamer I know that development and inventions never stop. A PC gets old and stops being able to run games and consoles...well it appears we get to a point where consoles are from the get go outmatched. Well, not really. PS5 is 4 years old now. If you have a 4 years old PC you probably also are at max 30 fps. At least the consoles are still cheap compared to a PC.
@@stemill1569 I get it, but still if a game is going to cost "$70" and a console is going to cost $400-$500, then the game needs to run smoothly. If you have a PC that you invested $2000 in the last 2 years, then it should be able to handle running games at 60 FPS. If the year was in the 2000's then fine I could understand these low frame rates. That time has come and gone a long time ago.
The thing I didn't like about backtracking in the original game was the world just wasn't all that varied or interesting. Definitely doesn't seem to be an issue here...
I remember when I played the Jedi Survivor with unstable fps and screen tearing it just destroyed the immersion for me. No doubt this game looks fun and beautiful but the performance on consoles worries me.
Random q. i still have a few things to play, witcher 3, lords of the fallen. Should i buy banishers ghost of new eden now, or finish what i have and buy banishers later. Thanks! Also this game looks amazing.
Do what you want to, if you don't feel like playing Witcher 3 and Lords of the Fallen then don't play them anymore. Gaming is a hobby ofc, so fun should be #1. Ofc if you want to keep playing the other titles then it's smart to do that before maybe getting a new game
Yeah I would say if you looking for more story focused banishers is probably good but the witcher 3 is definitely a great game, trust once you get into it you ain't coming out 😂
lords of the fallen isn't worth it i bought it still haven't finished it, just ain't it. The witcher 3 will give you an amazing time, you'll feel complete after playing it but at the same time you'll feel empty when it's done. I'd recommend you finishing whatever you have now. You can always buy games later.
It’s a shame you are supporting companies like this pushing out games way too soon, and that are far from optimized. This should NOT be acceptable. 90% of all ps5 games have a 60fps mode (Spider-Man, TLOU, Horizon zero dawn FW), that have for more impressive graphics. How is this possible?
Is the game really "open world" or is it just a path you will always follow? Open World mean you can go off the path and go somewhere different. Like coming up a crossing and going left instead of ahead. You said something horrible. You compared the game with elden rings. So what is it? A Souls like game or a game with real quests and stories? A quest doesn't become a quest because you see an ogre attacking people. those people themselves need to have a story to tell. I heard it both: It's either the next Elden Ring or the next Skyrim. So let me cut the question down: Do you have good interactions with NPCs? Or will the game be like melting cheese where every place you visit will be the same just with different looks and enemies?
It feels somehow deceptive, because it's not mentioned at anytime during the video? And other than the pitch, their way of speaking and accent are so similar?
So is this a big GO FETCH QUEST game that has little to do with the story? If so, I will pass. I have watched some combat video gameplay with Trolls and a Lycan, and it looks like 💩. The Lycan just stood there and did nothing.

@@JorRaptor Ehh, respectfully disagree. You mean it's only at 30 FPS, plus it still sometimes drops *below* that? That's pretty miserable to me, especially for a new $70 PS5 game in 2024, and is one reason to skip the game (other reasons too, but performance matters a lot).

And FUN!
So, which is more exciting with Dogma 2 and Ronin ?!
Already pre order Ronin. Going to finish that first and then jump on this lol
I wanna know as well. DD2 does look a bit more appealing though.
Someone streaming it right now on twitch if you want to see more
@odanecooper420
To me, I already finished ff7 rebirth,
I think fantasy games it's just enough for while for me.
So I'm hyped for Ronin !👍️
I have a review up for rise of the ronin tomorrow stay tuned...
As much as I looked forward to this game, I am genuinely shocked how badly they messed this one up in optimization, especially considering they just released Resident Evil 4 Remake that had no big issues running on PC. What on earth happened, Capcom?
Do you get a horse anything ? or do you have to foot travel the whole game ?
If the PS5/XSX are struggling to run the game well, oh boy is PC in for a surprise. Cause a lot of PC's are around the consoles in performance given they pack a 3060. Several are also about 40%-ish faster given they pack 6700xt levels of performance but that won't be enough to get 60fps, probably even at 1080p, which is just absurd.
Is there a difficulty setting?( easy, normal hard) I know they released these modes after the launch of DDD1
I'll wait till I finish building my pc and will play it there.
What GPU will you be running?, I’m using a 3090 but from what I hear you can’t get a solid 60fps with a 4090, which is a bit disappointing, hopefully a day one patch will help 🤞🏻
@@SuperLost4815What your processor, RAM and windows? I use i9 9900K, 32Gb ram, RTX 4070 Ti with Windows 11 installed in M.2 this game running as well smooth with max setting. I can play 100-120fps in Cyberpunk 2077 with max / path racing on. Do you play on 4K? just play in 1440p is better option.
Edit: Your windows data installed in M2 SSD? I use my 4 part SSD M.2 my PC running good, I will upgrade in 2025 waiting RTX 6080 Super and 256GB ram :)
@@vtg1800 I’m using a 11th gen i9, 32GB of RAM, yes windows 11 it’s on a M.2. I did get a faster SSD that I use for games. Ah you’re waiting for the 60 series? nice, to be honest I haven’t even thought about upgrading yet, until now. Yeah I play 1440p.
What are the difficulties?
Looks better than Most Souls Games
It’s the same game which isn’t bad the open world improved but most of the issues that hindered the first are also here
Dialogue , fast travel ,camera still are the same
Can your Pawns have every augment like you?
I never played a dragons dogma game but this game sounds very interesting
Looking forward to see some high level combat from all classes. For me thats one the biggest reasons am still waiting to buy it.
If this is anything like the Netflix anime, the Arisen is always in action mode!
Is it smooth like red dead redemption 30 fps or no
yes
@@JorRaptor thanks
Did you notice if there were any features from Dragon's Dogma that didn't return in Dragons Dogma 2?
WHAT ABOUT NEW PLAYERS CAN I PUT IT ON EASY IF I WANT TO GET DEEP INTO STORY?
There is no easy more, but you can farm and it can get easy
Please tell me the enemy encounters are random and not static, as in DD 1…..
And you would think rise of the ronin wouldn't look like a PS3 game
@@stemill1569 I get it, but still if a game is going to cost "$70" and a console is going to cost $400-$500, then the game needs to run smoothly. If you have a PC that you invested $2000 in the last 2 years, then it should be able to handle running games at 60 FPS. If the year was in the 2000's then fine I could understand these low frame rates. That time has come and gone a long time ago.
Does the Archer does melee attacks
they can do a kick to keep enemies away
The thing I didn't like about backtracking in the original game was the world just wasn't all that varied or interesting. Definitely doesn't seem to be an issue here...
We're halfway done with the new gen consoles and we're getting AAA games that run at 30 fps
They don't have the cross platform excuse either 😅
man why do people hate dragons dogma for content creators loving it but rise of the ronin gets more love for content creators hating it its crazy.
aaaaaaaahhh cant wait to enter this world
Have fun!
I remember when I played the Jedi Survivor with unstable fps and screen tearing it just destroyed the immersion for me. No doubt this game looks fun and beautiful but the performance on consoles worries me.
So, nobody is talking about only one save slot and if you want to change your appearance, you have to pay 2€ lol
can you minimize the HUD? it's quite intrusive.
No horses? I don't think I have the patience for this.
Question do you need to have played the first one to know what’s going on or is it a whole different story of its own
Don’t have to play first one to get this one
Nope it basicly feels like a redo of the first game which is great
Thank you both
Hoeveel vacations zijn er ?
Random q.
i still have a few things to play, witcher 3, lords of the fallen.
Finish what you have.
Thanks guys!
Appreciate it.
Will finish up what i have, i can always use the vouchers later i guess.
Thanks again!
LETS GO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
is keyboard and mouse support a thing with this game? Dont think my pc can handle the game so have to buy it on ps5....
You can use keyboard and mouse but they recommend using a controller as that's what they designed it in mind with.
@@rebeccaadams2509 thanks! I just want to make sure because games as big as GTA do not even have the support on ps5 so yea
Is this game unnecessarily complicated?
I think I will regret purchasing it. No difficulty options, unable to start a new game.
Nice Video ! Sub & Big Like ! And Love Dragons Dogma Games !
Will wait for a sale... performance may improve in the future... but for now, $70 doesnt seem fair.
And wait for dlc to come out too
green man gaming site is selling the game 14% off you can buy the deluxe edition for the price of the standard edition
As long as good story and combat and game control good who cares if it's 30 frame or 40 or 60
how much fps u get for ps5?
it's 30 but stable
@@JorRaptor any future update for 60fps on consoles?
Has jors voice changed or is it me? 🤔
This is Dennis who has been working full time for the channel for a couple of years now :)
It feels somehow deceptive, because it's not mentioned at anytime during the video? And other than the pitch, their way of speaking and accent are so similar?
30 fps in cities on PC is simply unacceptable, full stop
Microtransaction hungry ass game. HARD pass , capcom purposely didn’t speak on it that’s beyond FUCKED up .
What are they thinking to put some sort of RT with 4K locked option on console..Guys just wait for patches. This is not proper release
MICRO TRANSACTIONS WHYYYY
So is this a big GO FETCH QUEST game that has little to do with the story? If so, I will pass. I have watched some combat video gameplay with Trolls and a Lycan, and it looks like 💩. The Lycan just stood there and did nothing.
only 35 hrs?

But I need to finish FF7 😭
If the frame rate is literally only (around) 30 FPS, I think you're being way too kind to its performance.
Yes it's 30 on PS5, but no significant drops while playing apart from the spells we mentioned. 60 would've ofc been amazing, but it's not a reason to skip the game. 30 is totally fine here.
Crying about fps is the funniest most entitled thing I've seen in awhile
As I get older I get sick from playing 30 fps games. I need smoother frames rates. I went years without playing Mad Max but now that it’s 60-120 fps on series x I’ve been playing the heck out of it.
@@PeanutMikeimagine if this was dd2 thats 30fps at performance mode while being from a triple aaa studio. For $70
Wake up
@@JorRaptor Ehh, respectfully disagree. You mean it's only at 30 FPS, plus it still sometimes drops *below* that? That's pretty miserable to me, especially for a new $70 PS5 game in 2024, and is one reason to skip the game (other reasons too, but performance matters a lot).
A game should not be able to release under 60FPS . In 2024 why and how is this NOT the industry minimum?
1:14 oh, really?! I hate this approach with a passion! Why don't you let the user decide what he wants more?! Take the Assassin's Creed example ffs!
DD2 > Rise of the Ronin.
can the warrior use duel wielding? and can you use one handed axe?
Why no Multi-player tho? I’m so intrigued and it would be my first time, but I can’t help think I’m not gonna play this my 2-3 close friends who play most games with me ..
You can play the multiplayer online from the 1st game just need to Google it
Story centers around only one person l. Multi wouldn't work with it. Besides, not all games need multi-player
I’ll wait for a sale
30fps is 100% a deal breaker. I will wait for a patch.
If there ever will be a patch but I'm waiting too
This game
Is so ugly it shouldn’t run this bad
I swear people just wanna be down , jus less then a decade we had to deal with 30fps now it’s a problem and knowing the scale of the game you shouldn’t even be worried about that, just enjoy it if you buying it but if 30 keeping you from a fun game idk what to say other then entitled
L
It's even more bizarre considering you can tell how complicated the game is systems wise, it's not always about graphics that lowers performance
@@irecordwithaphone1856 and that’s my point like you can see it’s a lot going on definitely when two sorcerers activate they spell, and the world is huge, running this at 60 on our console will blow our shit up
Yeah hard pass on this just look at the ridiculous mtx
30fps? meehhh gunna wait
You're going to be waiting for a LONG time then bud.
Yes, I agree with you 100%. And I am glad that your comment is honest. So many delusional people overhyping this game. I wasn't very interested in DD1. It looked very fun at first sight, but there was just something I couldn't explain or put my finger on, why I didn't like it. DD2 gives the same kind of illusion, I feel like it is overhyped, but people will find themselves having fluctuated reviews on the DD2 game too. I just know 1 thing This game would have been perfect, and that is if this game had multiplayer. The reason why Elden Ring is still played is because of multiplayer. Multiplayer allows people to keep playing despite beating the game. There is another category of fun to just help and adventuring with people.
For example Minecraft. (I am not a kid, and I don't play Minecraft don't get me wrong; this is only an example of survival game) Building and adventuring are fun alone to a certain point, but then being able to meet/play with a couple of other players and adventuring, surviving at night, and camping together would make this game hands down the game of the year. But unfortunately, the developers did not take that leap, because they were afraid to.
@@djstef4549The get a pc argument is so fucking dumb. Even high end PC's costing several thousands of dollars are struggling to get 60 fps. Nowadays 60 fps at least in performance mode is standard.
