Andrew might not have the same vocal chops as Ben Platt - but I think he has everything else down. From the look of the character to the acting (based on clips I’ve seen), he’s really good! And he’s actually a great singer too in his own right, and I just love the fact he that he was the only one who was an actual teenager who played the role
I wish we could've gotten him to play Evan in the movie. Sure his name isn't bigger like Platt or any of the supportings such as Julianne Moore and Amy Adams but for better or worse, it's still a far better choice
@@Erasureeraser I'm not sure what the fascination with Ben is, he has a limited range and an out of control vibrato. I get the choice of not singing the song with perfect pitch. Andrew does a lot more emoting in acting and vocals, his Seymour in Little Shop made me cry, its really the first time I actually felt empathy for Seymour and Audrey.
The thing I really like about Andrew’s performance is how he REALLY sounds, looks, and acts like his character is supposed to be. Yes, Ben and Jordan have amazing voices, but they don’t come close to the reality this character brings through Andrew imo
I can see what you mean on how he looks/sounds (prefacing this by saying I love all three performances) but the stuff I’ve seen from Ben and Jordan are almost unmatched acting wise, even if casting wise they aren’t as believable
I've learned to slam on the brake Before I even turn the key Before I make the mistake Before I lead with the worst of me Give them no reason to stare No slipping up if you slip away So I got nothing to share No, I got nothing to say Step out, step out of the sun If you keep getting burned Step out, step out of the sun Because you've learned, because you've learned On the outside, always looking in Will I ever be more than I've always been? 'Cause I'm tap, tap, tapping on the glass I'm waving through a window I try to speak, but nobody can hear So I wait around for an answer to appear While I'm watch, watch, watching people pass I'm waving through a window, oh Can anybody see, is anybody waving back at me? We start with stars in our eyes We start believing that we belong But every sun doesn't rise And no one tells you where you went wrong Step out, step out of the sun If you keep getting burned Step out, step out of the sun Because you've learned, because you've learned On the outside, always looking in Will I ever be more than I've always been? 'Cause I'm tap, tap, tapping on the glass Waving through a window I try to speak, but nobody can hear So I wait around for an answer to appear While I'm watch, watch, watching people pass Waving through a window, oh Can anybody see, is anybody waving? When you're falling in a forest and there's nobody around Do you ever really crash, or even make a sound? When you're falling in a forest and there's nobody around Do you ever really crash, or even make a sound? When you're falling in a forest and there's nobody around Do you ever really crash, or even make a sound? When you're falling in a forest and there's nobody around Do you ever really crash, or even make a sound? Did I even make a sound? Did I even make a sound? It's like I never made a sound Will I ever make a sound? On the outside, always looking in Will I ever be more than I've always been? 'Cause I'm tap, tap, tapping on the glass Waving through a window I try to speak, but nobody can hear So I wait around for an answer to appear While I'm watch, watch, watching people pass Waving through a window, oh Can anybody see, is anybody waving back at me? (Oh) Is anybody waving? Waving, waving, whoa-oh, whoa

why is the instrumental track panned to the right LOL
I started the video with one headphone in and I was wondering where the instrumentals were..
Is the audience talking during this, what's all that background noise
I know I’m late to replying but I’m pretty sure the microphone from the first guy who was up there was accidentally left on.
He should’ve played Evan in the movie adaptation. 😊
I disagree. Vocally he just is not anywhere near Ben platt
@@raptoroptical2991 YES!
