Came here from seeing Aretha Franklin's performance from the Carole King tribute in 2015. Two legendary ladies.
+DizMatt Me too!
Me too
me too
So did I
DizMatt I've just done the same!!!
I didn't know Carole King wrote this song. Had to find out after Ms. Aretha Franklin's tribute. So Awesome!
She wrote the music. Her husband wrote the words
She wrote some really popular songs that have withstood the test of time...her Tapestry album was a killer..if you haven't heard it, give it a try...good stuff. Blessings.
And Aretha always graciously gave credit to Carole King.
King & Goffin wrote a lot of Hit songs for other people.
Just wait until you discover where Whitney Houston got her number one song from
I do not understand who dislikes this. She wrote this song and sung it with her whole soul.
Its the LGBTQ crowd 🙄
She sounds good, blue-eyed soul !!!!!
Beautiful song sung by 2 very talented women, Carole has always said Aretha’s version is best, but both are superb✊♥️
Me neither??😮
Whoever dislikes this song that she wrote for the Queen Of Soul Aretha Franklin need their head examined😡
Thank you America for giving us Carol King. She is a blessing to be enjoyed by all humanity.
I saw her going nearly nuts, when Aretha sung and I wondered, who is that good looking, fantastic Lady, and now after years found out....she is a lovely Lady, may God bless her
Joshua X ur right..I was feeling the same & found out.
This tiny shy little woman - girlish, here - is such a massive powerhouse of talent.
Absolutely, I couldn't have said it any better! What talent.
@@randhivc I heard that is exactly what Dusty Springfield said to her, "So you're the little lady who writes all the music." Springfield's partner said Springfield kept all of her demos of King and cherished them until her death.
To be inside of herself with her talent and intensity, must have seemed too much.
she looked like a guy tho.

"When my soul was at the lost and found, you came along to claim it."
Blown away..
Such a great lyric.
Songs from those years are so earnestly written and sang from the soul. Simply Beautiful.
I love hearing the original version of songs. She wrote this song so it's coming from somewhere real... about someone that was in her life. Beautiful song.
this version is incredible
Ultra natural...
She did not write the lyrics.
It was James Taylor's love song written for her.
Carol king wrote the music her hubby wrote the lyrics
When my soul was in the lost and found.......that is a great line
Jeff Cheesman agree
Gerry Goffin wrote the words
@@karenbaumgartel6077 Gerry Goffin's lyrics always amaze!
Tapestry has always been one of my top 10 desert island discs, and I’m a guy ! that’s how good it is
Thanks, Aretha, because of you I discovered this great performance from
the girl that wrote this great song!
+MrMartinmarc Aretha always gives credit to Carole King for writing the song. This song was great to both artists.
Gerry Goffin and Carole King, the song was inspired by Atlantic Records co-owner and producer Jerry Wexler. As recounted in his autobiography, Wexler, a student of African-American musical culture, had been mulling over the concept of the "natural man", when he drove by King on the streets of New York. He shouted out to her that he wanted a "natural woman" song for Aretha Franklin's next album. Song was written for Aretha & recorded in 1967 then 4 years later Carole records her version on Tapestry Album
Carol has done a good job
I just want to wrap myself up in Carole King's music today.
Wrap yourself up in... tapestry
This woman is pure joy. What a gift to the art of music!
Greatest songwriter of all time!!! I love Carole King
Female songwriter, it's tough to call...Carley Ain't no slouch...Annie Haslam from Renaissance...But, Carol is prolific, that's for sure and her songs were covered by many artist...
godbluffvdgg those ladies are all superb, but Joni Mitchell is the best songwriter of all time, male or female.
a coming Paleo-Conservative Republican US Supreme Court is going to overturn Roe vs. Wade, end Women's Protected Right to choose between giving Birth or Abortion, get ready to fight for Women's Rights again, bring back Feminism.
You're dreaming. That's just absurd and wrong.

One of the best female songwriters of our time.🥰
The best
Male. All those 'female' celebs are men and vice versa.
This is the best rendition of this song in my opinion, by the composer, and isn’t she a beautiful natural woman!!
What a no gimmic, pure natural talent! Thanks Carol for your beautiful songs! Always brings a tear to my eye! No other vocals like CK's, backup musicians & vocals...all come together so beautifully....like made from above...what a true GIFT!!!
Many sing this song, but this woman sings it like the songwriters she is. The words are from and centre, at the heart of this performance ❤️
everything about this is amazing. i want to make a woman feel that way
Dubsy awww dubsy I just wanna give you a big mumsy hug and hope one day one of my nieces feels exactly the same way as you
Belis Breckenridge i wish every man had that goal!
It’s too bad that women today sleep around and get into troubled relationships with assholes and then when they realize they want to be with a man that’s going to actually treat them right and take care of them they are all used up and stretched out.
@@DennisBTV your narrowed mind and heart don't deserve a natural woman.
Thanks Carole/such a gift to this world !!!
Damn she so attractive and talented here. A TRUE American treasure.
This feels so raw and real. Love it.
I have listened to many who sang this song but somehow my heart always come to Carole. Her voice and the way she share the story of this song is simply and naturally phenomena.
Gerry Goffin and Carole King made songs that even my generation could hold on to and enjoy. Both, great talents.
Carole King Gerry Goffin!?awesome :-) :-) :-$
"Uptown"
this is absolute genius songwriting - you gott have a lot of soul to write a masterpiece like this!!!! Love you Carol King!!!! You are a genius mam!!!!!
I can honestly say that at 56 years old, a musician as a youngster and a lifelong music fan, until today I had never heard of Carole King!! After spending the morning binge watching her videos I now can't see how that was even possible.
What a beautiful, talented individual. Late to the party but a new fan.
My man used to make me feel just like that, wish he still did, so sad.
RIP Gerry Goffin, you were a great team with Carole King.We have some of the very best music because of you ♥
Hello msstevie
Artists that transcend time, and reach into the universe, they are forever in our hearts, and lives.
Yes. Carole King's voice transcends into the universe.
Her voice, her talent, her connection with humanity is raw. It gets down into your bones and stays there. Her voice becomes a part of your soul. She inspires me to reach into the depth and breath of my heart, to give as much of my God given talent to God as I possibly can; Back to God and out into the universe.
She is so good, I mean really she can sing. One of my favorites.
one of the greatest singers of all time. LOVE LOVE LOVE her music. Her music needs to resurface in today's time. It's time for her music to come a live again!
+Rose McCluney she was awesome indeed
We definitely need something…we were surrounded with good frequencies like this to combat the bad frequencies coming in through other Trans missions lol 💙🦢💙
Damn she's so amazing and beautiful here. She's a TRUE American talent.
The rawness makes this performance special
An iconic song. The lyrics are just sublime.
I love Carole King! What a voice and a lovely person who inspired everyone to be a better version of themselves!! I can’t explain how she made us feel when we were growing up. And now we look back at the best memories ever! ❤ 🙏🌹🎵💝❤️💋♥️💗💕🎶👩🎨
Thank you for gracing us with such a beautiful and wonderful song that explains and encompasses real and true love of the most rare and special kind. I sang this every morning when I travelled through Europe.
The natural woman for sure!! Hello 70's..💫 Are Miss.👑 Is truly a QUEEN of ROCK!! ✨🎉✨... much appreciated. Thanks for posting, back in the day....✨
Beautiful beautiful beautiful 👏👏🇧🇷
To write this and perform it like this... There are no words, not enough superlatives, but here we go...
Beautiful, breathtaking, incredible, sensational, legendary.
Just saw the play Beautiful. Loved it both me and my daughter. Didn't know she wrote many of the songs I grew up listening to.
I just saw it too. What impressed me is that Barry Mann wrote most of the good songs in the show...
But it's true that Carole wrote a whole lot of songs in the '50s and '60's.
You, and your daughter, should be proud of yourselves as women and love Carole King in that thought! I'm a male singer and songwriter and I grew up with her.
Listening to this brings tears to my eyes and joy to my heart.
Carole sei fantastica,ti ascolto da quando ero bambina e cantavo le tue meravigliose canzoni con mio papà ❤grazie 🙏💞
I have loved Carol King since I heard tapestries,I was about 3 maybe 4 years old and my Mom would play this album. Thank you for all the great song Mrs. King. & Thank You Mom for having great taste in music!!!
this is so classic carole is so young here
Wow.
That voice belongs laying on a piano in an ole juke joint, and those fingers belong on the keys. Her passion comes out her fingertips.
Impressed

A beautiful woman, singing beautiful music from the soul with great talent. Where the hell is this in the packaged culture of the past 40 years? NOWHERE! Carole you are a unique gift!
You think this is a woman?😂🤔wow
Oh my Goddess what a beautiful woman, what a wonderful song!
Love this song! It perfectly expresses to me how deeply being in love can change the way you feel. Carole King's version is so real, without relying on anything but the pure emotion.
Hello Lara
What are you implying who's relying on anything??? all versions are beautiful
I love how understated it is when she sings it. Not trying to hit any high notes or anything. Just singing. Tapestry was one of the first albums I remember hearing.
So amazing when beauty and talent are combined in one incredible woman.
Songstress, singer, songwriter, performer. She does it ALL! Love this talented lady🎶🙂
Beautiful. I love Carol King and I always knew this was originally her song,(well she wrote it) but this is actually the first time i watched her perform it. This was amazing
I love Carole King…a Wonderful Natural Woman. 💚🧝♀️💚
This might be the greatest love song written by a woman. Carole King is such a wonderful songwriter and singer. That's right, what a criminally underrated vocalist. Name someone whose voice is as soulful and earthy and genuine as Carole's. I thought so.
The lyrics were written by a man.
Yo can’t possibly believe this is a woman🙄
WOW that is just a gorgeous version. So much soul and passion.
Aretha is queen, Carole is king.
I see what you did there.
Elvis is the king silly.
@@mustuploadtoo7543 most of his music was stolen from black creators
@@TruBeauty15 never stolen as he didn't take songwriting credit

True but Elvis helped give the black artists the wide audience their music deserved by making it "ok" for whites to dig the blues. ♥️
Carol is so lively and inspiring, beautiful singer !
Amazing artist, such a voice and such a feeling!
I Love Carole King , A writer ,she owns my Heart . Some of The best music written in The last 50 plus years !
After all these years of loving this song, I carefully listened to Her Words.(Lyrics) ....They are Intense, Beautiful, can't find the words to describe it....Carol King is a Poet...A true Artist. There is something extrodinary about her . She not just writing a simple song. And Her Delivery of the Song is Breathtaking.... Listening to Her I sometimes want to climb into her head..A true artist.
What a fantasticly talented woman!! Fantastic writer, great singer and a super piano player.
To ge one would be a blessing, 2 extremely fortunate but all 3!!!!
Wow
This song always gives me cold chills! Thank you for sharing it!
This is my favorite song to cover. It is just timeless. Thanks, Carole!
Hauntingly beautiful! I have always loved Carol's voice and her piano playing. A truly great talent. Everything from "It's Too Late to Jazzman and so many other songs from/by Carol.
The innocence and her voice
Lyrics:
Looking out on the morning rain
I used to feel uninspired
And when I knew I had to face another day
Lord, it made me feel so tired
Before the day I met you, life was so unkind
But your love was the key to my peace of mind
'Cause you make me feel
You make me feel
You make me feel like
A natural woman
When my soul was in the lost-and-found
You came along to claim it
I didn't know just what was wrong with me
Till your kiss helped me name it
Now I'm no longer doubtful of what I'm living for
'Cause if I make you happy I don't need to do more
You make me feel
You make me feel
You make me feel like
A natural woman
Oh, baby, what you've done to me
You make me feel so good inside
And I just want to be close to you
You make me feel so alive
You make me feel
You make me feel
You make me feel like
A natural woman
Thanks for writing these amazing lyrics I just like to read along as I listen

Like a natural woman

When my soul was in the lost and found
You came along to claim it
I didn't know just what was wrong with me

when Aretha sings, I hear big voice. when Carole sings, I feel big love and big emotion.
I hear both big voice and feel big love and emotion for both of these ladies
I always thought that Aretha sounded like she was just walking through the song. Her version is still great just because of the quality of her voice, but as far as I'm concerned she just walked through it without making much of an effort.
@@mandymulwray6789 I don't see none of that, but, hey, we all have our own ears.
@@mandymulwray6789 That's because Aretha makes it look that damn easy. Both versions are beautiful.
I disagree. I am sorry you don’t feel emotion with Aretha. That is what she does best. That is what she is famous for. That is what she taught Whitney Houston and any singer that she has EVER mentored. Her emotion and her vocal ability and power is what make her the greatest female singer of all time ( with Etta James in my opinion). Carol conveys emotion and gives a lovely quirky and emotional performance, but these ladies are on two different lanes. Carol is more of a songwriter than a singer. We all need to know our lane in life. And we all know who the queen is. 👑
This is making me want to listen to Tapestry.
If you haven't yet, LISTEN TO IT!
This made me buy tapestry
One of the all time greatest albums
thank-you for some lovely photos and of course Carol.....I have been singing to her songs for years..her message is BEAUTIFUL
Part of my soundtrack of life from age 11 through my teens, still sounds fresh after all these years. Still amazing to listen to today
Hello Julie
Hi Julie hope you’re okay?
Everytime I work on this song (currently redoing a guitar arrangement for a friend's wedding this weekend) I find something new to admire. Elegant, concise, heartfelt and with enough musical interest to keep the song fresh but not over complicated - they just don't write them like this anymore (tho Jacob Colliers doing a great job of pumping new life into popular music...). Thanks Carol!
Breathtakingly sincere.
One of the best songs and song writer ever💕
Hello Rachel
Hi Rachel hope you’re okay?
Pure talent !!!!
♥Still makes my heart beat stronger.
This feels much more personal. More like a love letter than a hit Diva song. Love it.
That is your opinion.
Of course

Love, love, love, Carole King Forever!
Black/white/green/yellow/or blue. A great song speaks louder than words for us all. Bless you all. Nice comment Kelli Smith. You see through this like I do. Happy 2016 Kelli. Hugs.
so true!
Have not met any of these green or blue people where do you find them.
+Kevin Newell you do realize that he doesn't mean those colors literally right?
Rob Trust This is definitely not for purple people. we have to draw the line somewhere
So great to see this old concert footage when she was at the top of her game. Back in the Charles Larkey era.
Kudos, to say the least, to the man who inspired this unique Woman to sing this song. Bottle what it is and sell it; many will buy it at any price.
Happy birthday, CK
How did this woman evade me for the best part of my life. What a talent!
+Mark Anthony You probably many songs written by her and just didn't know it.
+Tanmag I do now and glad for it. This song and the way she preforms it is truly stunning. How she move's playin, ' the piano her voice and her eye's.
Conception, creation and deliverance.
bobbyb5 right on I agree 100%...todays music is so generic ..
Music then and now. Not much of a comparison. This is real and soulful like music should be.
So exactly how many could pull off a performance like that, wtf. I think what's so outstanding about this treasure is Carole on two occasions glancing over at Charles with that smile ,,,like,,,I'll see you at home tonight.lol.this must have been filmed soon after the release of tapestry in a sold out performance and imagine the magnitude of this song with only two instruments,,,,,,so Amazing!ty,Carole!
Meravigliosa
50 anos e é uma coisa linda de se ouvir...
One of the greatest songwriters ever. The resolve of the chorus is just such a beautiful turnaround.
It is good to see the singers and bands of my generation still alive and playing 40 years after I saw many of them in concert. As I grow older listening of music from my younger days brings back such great memories and not so good like a tour in Vietnam.
Of course everyone knows what a spellbinding talent Carole is....but people sometimes forget how beautiful she is:)
The most amazing thing about this amazing song is that a man wrote the lyrics
R.I.P . Gerry Goffin
Beautiful, soulful performance. I've always loved Carol King- both on her own and collaborating with Aretha Franklin !
Congratulations Ms. King
I always liked Carole King, growing up my sisters listened to her a lot. I was more into rockers like Zeppelin, The Stones, Allman Brothers, Skynyrd, ZZ Top etc... back in I believe 2004 I attended Carole's show, "The Living Room Tour", at The Santa Barbara Bowl. She played this song and all of her big hits from the Tapestry album, then she played parts of about 50 songs that she wrote but other people made popular. I couldn't believe it. I still tell people that show was the best concert I ever attended. I was in awe of just how talented she is!
I love this version as well ☺
