Hi Abi, just want to let you know that I am beyond thankful for this video! I have been looking for so long for a way to know how these designs get presented and this has been very helpful. As a beginner freelancer with no experience in the design field, this is a gem. I cannot tell you how thankful I am for this!

I’m a one concept kind of girl too since day 1! I feel like when your design is heavily strategy-led, it always feels like there’s one perfect fit concept for the brand instead of 3-5 potential direction, so I send them just that one and we can go from there
Definitely, sending clients 3-5 projects imo is getting paid for work half-done. It's our job to choose the project that works and is the best after all. It baffles me when I see clients who actually require a few logo designs to choose from. They completely miss the point of hiring a designer and don't realize that all of those designs but one will be just previous/worse versions of the one that the designer worked up to and is undoubtedly the best not only when it comes to looks but most importantly strategy.
Omg! I'm definitely going to stick to 1 concept to present from now on 😭! I did a presentation similar to this for a logo for my friend's coffee shop but made the mistake of including sketches of logos in the first stage and she likes one of those! Not fleshed out or anything. 😢 Is there anyway to come out of this??
Such great help!! 2 questions: 1. Do you usually send these slides to your client or do you book them for an oral presentation? 2. Could you show us what the final files are and how they look when sending them to a client? File formats etc 😄 Thanks for being such an inspiration 💞 /Graphic Design student
Final files are usually JPG, PNG, SVG, AI and some give EPS. It depends on the clients uses. I usually like to ask them what they'll be using their logo for and supply them with a guide on how to use each file type. Abi has videos on some of the questions you're asking though so maybe watch a few more.
Thanks Abi! Been loving your channel. Very inspiring and straightforward. Definitely learning alot and very excited to be on this path. I recommend everyone take notes!
You are amazing. Thank you so much for your videos, completely stacked with information not gone over in school. Freelancing is difficult without direction and you're videos are giving me so much guidance. Thank you!
I was contemplating how to do a presentation for non-branding projects. But now that I'm rewatching this, I think it'd be fine to use the same format but trade out the logo section for whatever project it is and the patterns for layout. The other sections still matter, but they'd be specific about the project i.e. brochure and not referring to new branding (but explanations can still mention how existing branding got integrated). If the project was more closed like I had to stick to only the main brand type and color, it'd still create a more cohesive presentation to affirm preexisting choices and how I worked with them.
Thank you very much, Abi! this is the most helpful video I've found on creating a brand identity. I liked this video and I appreciate your efforts and the great editing too. I like your whole channel, keep going, and keep those great videos coming!

@@abiconnick Thank you so much! Is v.1 still available? I really like the look of it and am more than happy to pay for it if I can process a foreign transaction!
It is! The brand style guide or brand guidelines document is completed once the brand is finished. The guidelines would tell your client exactly how to use the brand and details about the company’s visual identity. It would include things like rules and guidelines. Whereas the brand presentation is you trying to sell the brand identity and designs you’ve come up with for your client that you’re proposing to them x
This feels like s style guide... what's the difference? I thought your supposed to present little things and then if they want a style guid they can get it but for a cost! sorry im entry level. pls lmk!
It pretty much is the same as a style guide. There is no way you have to present your work, it's personal preference, obviously it's nice if you explain your design decisions etc and show them the branding in action and how they can incorporate the brand into different stuff like social media, etc. I factor this into the cost of my projects, I don't want to create a brand for a client for them not to know how to use it properly, it looks bad on the designer if this was to happen. Don't be sorry, it's a valid question! Hope my explanation helped. 😊

Whereas the brand presentation is you trying to sell the brand identity and designs you’ve come up with for your client that you’re proposing to them x
@@abiconnick Thank you for the clarification. They seem so similar.
@@abiconnick can you make a video about branding guidelines too? the difference between them is very confusing haha
@@alosk7 Noted!
@@abiconnick Thanks for the advice! I'm looking more into it. Hope you doing well in the UK.thank you
I call this a pitch deck
