Absolutely incredible! Would you please continue to make full in depth videos like this and maybe show the file creation as well? How you package and deliver the files. It would be really helpful to see. Also would you consider making a video about licensing of images and fonts and all the copyright laws surrounding design. 8:26 - I’m just curious, when laying out all the typography out on a page spread. Isn’t it hard to narrow down on a final concept when you have all that visual noise from all the other variants surrounding it. When the type has enough room to breathe they may look different and it might even change your perspective on it? What do you think.

No problem, hope you found it helpful :) The app is just adobe acrobat, I only used it to easily showcase the presentation for the video, I put it together in Illustrator.
Quick question, usually there’s a brand that needed a photography reference. Where we should find the photography references since every photos have copyrights
Great video. I was wondering how you gather correctly all the information during the meeting wit the client. Do you take notes or do you record the interview (with their approval), or anything else?
So I follow a script, to ensure I'm asking the right questions, and yes the meeting is recorded, so then I can go through it after and note down all the important info!

What's your process for that? Do you go over the responses with them and dive deeper? Or do you have another completely different process? As of right now, I'm just sending a questionnaire and then moving forward with creating the brand strategy presentation. I have a question, would you say it is safe to have notion portals with clients given that those are online, anyone with the link can access it, I know it's hard to find a notion page that you don't have the link of but I guess if you are a hacker you may spend your days searching for those or designing robots that do... Anyway, have you got any info on safety about having a work in progress online ? Thank you
Glad it was helpful 😊 So on notion, the pages aren't accessible with just a link, the person also has to have permission to view the page (usually through their email address). You can make pages online, but for this case there isn't a solid reason to do so!

First of all, thanks for these videos because they're so inspiring and full of new stuff to learn. One thing I wanted to ask is: how do you manage to be sure that the palette you have created is going to look exactly the same when printed? Bright colours such these are the ones that look most different in CMYK. Do you use Pantones and so your client has to use them (which is more expensive) when they get it printed? Or is there any other method?
Glad to hear it was helpful 😊 So the short answer is they won't, if the client requests packaging I will convert colours to CMYK for the packaging. (I let the client know this process so they are fully aware)
Hi Abi, thanks for sharing! I noticed that as part of your brand strategy, you write copy about the company e.g. About and Mission Statement. Is this a core offering? Where would you say that process ends if the client wants more copy for all their webpages etc?
No problem! Yes, this is part of my brand strategy core offering, but anything that falls outside of this scope would then be additional e.g writing website copy :) - anything that isn't strategy related, falls outside of the core offering

Thank you :) So if a brand requires extra touchpoints, like packaging, social media templates etc, I start this after the brand identity has been signed off!

This was really informative! Btw, I wanted to know what topics does the discovery call cover? I'm always a bit confused differing between the discovery call and the strategy call.. And also at what stage do you send the questionnaire to your client (the 'must-have client questionnaire' freebie on your website)?
So glad to hear :) I'm currently writing a video all on the discovery call! Discovery is what you have before starting the project, it's to gather info about the cleint and their business so you can put a proposal together, strategy call happens once they are onboarded and in this call you go over their competitors, the brands foundations and more (will make video on it).

Ah thank you, I appreciate it :) To answer your question, I send a pattern as a png, pdf and eps (I create all my patterns as a seamless swatch, meaning they can create a repetitive pattern)

Hi i have a question. I see when your are choosing the colors you are working in RGB, but when the client want to print something how do you make sure that the colors in CMYK are almost the same as in RGB?
If a clients business is predominantly offline - e.g they will need a lot of printed stationery for their business, I'll start in CMYK and convert to RGB as it's an easier translation. For their socials, I'd have a play with the Hue and Saturation so it's nice and vivid. The gap between RGB and CMYK is pretty difficult to bridge. RGB are significantly more vibrant because of the light our screens emit so, it's hard to match them (sadly) I've heard whispers of printing suppliers getting closer to RGB colour pay off so I'm hoping in time, we'll be closer to RGB colours all day everydayyyy haha 😂 One thing I'd recommend is being transparent with your client in regards to how colours will be muted in real life because of printing limitations - that way, you won't be faced with complaints over something looking washed out.
I think if you let them understand the amount of work you can do to help their vision it’ll be easier to talk money. I used to be so insecure to even ask if I can receive the payment, but as I grow, I realized that this is not something *everybody* can do thus justifies your worth. So yeah, maybe just grow into it :))
i think i'd rather see the process of you designing from scratch. it feels like we've already seen this and a few other projects enough times in your content. thats just me tho! still very helpful and informative, thank you!

Great point, so I usually drag my top 3 choices onto there own artboard to get rid of distractions :)

3 in total, Discovery call, strategy call and off boarding call. (sometimes there is a call about revision after i present the brand, if needed)

Great video. I was wondering how you gather correctly all the information during the meeting wit the client. Do you take notes or do you record the interview (with their approval), or anything else?
So I follow a script, to ensure I'm asking the right questions, and yes the meeting is recorded, so then I can go through it after and note down all the important info!

This is just amazing! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!!! However, I would like to pick your brain on the purpose of the strategy call after the questionnaire is filled out. What's your process for that? Do you go over the responses with them and dive deeper? Or do you have another completely different process? As of right now, I'm just sending a questionnaire and then moving forward with creating the brand strategy presentation. I want to improve my results and processes; therefore I would really appreciate your input on this

I have a question, would you say it is safe to have notion portals with clients given that those are online, anyone with the link can access it, I know it's hard to find a notion page that you don't have the link of but I guess if you are a hacker you may spend your days searching for those or designing robots that do... Anyway, have you got any info on safety about having a work in progress online ? Thank you
Glad it was helpful 😊 So on notion, the pages aren't accessible with just a link, the person also has to have permission to view the page (usually through their email address). You can make pages online, but for this case there isn't a solid reason to do so!

First of all, thanks for these videos because they're so inspiring and full of new stuff to learn. One thing I wanted to ask is: how do you manage to be sure that the palette you have created is going to look exactly the same when printed? Bright colours such these are the ones that look most different in CMYK. Do you use Pantones and so your client has to use them (which is more expensive) when they get it printed? Or is there any other method?
Glad to hear it was helpful 😊 So the short answer is they won't, if the client requests packaging I will convert colours to CMYK for the packaging. (I let the client know this process so they are fully aware)
Hi Abi, thanks for sharing! I noticed that as part of your brand strategy, you write copy about the company e.g. About and Mission Statement. Is this a core offering? Where would you say that process ends if the client wants more copy for all their webpages etc?
No problem! Yes, this is part of my brand strategy core offering, but anything that falls outside of this scope would then be additional e.g writing website copy :) - anything that isn't strategy related, falls outside of the core offering

This was really informative! Btw, I wanted to know what topics does the discovery call cover? I'm always a bit confused differing between the discovery call and the strategy call.. And also at what stage do you send the questionnaire to your client (the 'must-have client questionnaire' freebie on your website)?
So glad to hear :) I'm currently writing a video all on the discovery call! Discovery is what you have before starting the project, it's to gather info about the cleint and their business so you can put a proposal together, strategy call happens once they are onboarded and in this call you go over their competitors, the brands foundations and more (will make video on it).

Ah thank you, I appreciate it :) To answer your question, I send a pattern as a png, pdf and eps (I create all my patterns as a seamless swatch, meaning they can create a repetitive pattern)

Hi i have a question. I see when your are choosing the colors you are working in RGB, but when the client want to print something how do you make sure that the colors in CMYK are almost the same as in RGB?
If a clients business is predominantly offline - e.g they will need a lot of printed stationery for their business, I'll start in CMYK and convert to RGB as it's an easier translation. For their socials, I'd have a play with the Hue and Saturation so it's nice and vivid.
The gap between RGB and CMYK is pretty difficult to bridge. RGB are significantly more vibrant because of the light our screens emit so, it's hard to match them (sadly) I've heard whispers of printing suppliers getting closer to RGB colour pay off so I'm hoping in time, we'll be closer to RGB colours all day everydayyyy haha 😂
One thing I'd recommend is being transparent with your client in regards to how colours will be muted in real life because of printing limitations - that way, you won't be faced with complaints over something looking washed out.

I think if you let them understand the amount of work you can do to help their vision it’ll be easier to talk money.
I used to be so insecure to even ask if I can receive the payment, but as I grow, I realized that this is not something *everybody* can do thus justifies your worth.
So yeah, maybe just grow into it :))
