Tracker & Ranger are under the Tracker Umbrella Johnny Morris. Ranger used to be the best made boat period but I do question the quality under Tracker ownership.
Good video. I'm looking at new boats and I'm comparing 3-5 brands. Wish you could give examples of worn carpet, cheap wiring, etc. I'm currently selling my Ranger glass boat and getting an aluminum. There are more differences you didn't mention.
Ranger boats are like the Michelin tire of the bass boat world. Just a little better quality than most everyone else but a lot more in cost than everyone else.
Some people love the quality of the Ranger and the fact that they are full aluminum, but they live in areas where the lakes and river fishing zones have a 20 to 25 hp limit. I have a friend that lives in Pennsylvania and the lakes he fishes in has a 20hp limit. He owns a Tracker pro 170 (same boat that I have just different color) but he had to go with the 20 hp motor. I have a 50 hp motor on mine. It sucks, but rules are rules.
I'm looking at the 188P vs the 190TX . It's about 3 grand price difference. The better trailer with a surge brake all aluminum hull. tracker doesn't offer the command thrust bottom end so you can run the lager props. not mention a few other extras. it's worth the extra money. IMO
My 2019 Ranger RT178 comes with a 70lbs thrust Minn Kota. Also never ever just throw a fish back into the water like you did in this video that’s the worst thing for the fish and it’s not sportsman like. You should show more respect for your viewers. One more thing my Ranger 178 came with 60 hp motor.

No facts to back it up. Same with wiring and trailer - where are the facts about one vs the other that make it better? What, in your opinion, makes wire substandard? You give no context, only opinion. Is the ranger trailer built out of heavier gauge steel, coated differently, does it have brakes? What is the difference other than “better” Since you have no video of a ranger, I assume you are going off the specs on the website, all the while, not actually providing any specs. If you wonder why you have 18k views and only 181 likes, it is because you provide zero usable data other than wood vs aluminum.
I have had 2 tracker boats, same model. I have a new Ranger RT178. It makes the Tracker boat sick. Ranger is heavier and handles better than a Tracker. The Quality is 10 times better than a tracker. The Tracker is junk compared to a Ranger. You get what you pay for.
Ranger makes Tracker and Ranger is a lot better boat and better built and the reason tracker is cheaper because there made cheaper tracker still a good boat do to the price but you definitely have more choices with a Ranger..
Wood vs alum. deck, according to Tracker the aluminum deck will fail due to stress fracturing. Walking & stepping on the deck bends the alum. & over time it cracks & grows every year. I have a 2010 Tracker 190 & you are correct about the Ranger having a better trailer. I like my tracker just fine but if I bought a new one, I'd get the Ranger.
Ranger aluminum boats have been a higher quality item than Tracker. However, from my understanding since White River Marine (Bass Pro) purchased Ranger that these boats have since been moved from the Ranger manufacturing plant in Arkansas up to the Tracker plant in Missouri....and as a result quality has taken a hit. BTW- The Triton aluminums were made in the same facility with the same haul as the Ranger. The Tritons can/could be had for less than the Ranger.
I bought a Ranger vs1682 because I liked it and got a good deal on one that didn't come with trolling motor or electronics. I wanted all the cool stuff so I bought the 80lb I-pilot link Terrova with MDI transducer and Helix 10's bow and console. My boat came with the vinyl floor and that was another thing I liked. It came with the 90 Merc and I would rather have the 115 but I like it for fishing.
I own the smallest aluminum boat Ranger has, the MPV 1652 Camo, 40 hp ETEC tiller Love it, trailer is awesome Don’t forget Tracker uses non-treated wood on their trailer bunks, will need replacing in 2-3 yrs depending

You need to consider the higher resale value on the Ranger as well. Also take a close look at the Vexus AVX 1880...! Vexus is the new "Ranger" on the market, and is run by Forest Wood's grandson. The AVX 1880 is $28,000 for a 19' bass boat with a 115 and a trailer exactly equivalent to Ranger's trailer.
You need to compare apples to apples....what i mean is to compare the tracker pro series to the best aluminum ranger boat.... you can NOT put power poles on the tracker......can not put jackplate on tracker.... the ranger comes 9x9 lowrance elite HD ..... 80 LB ALTREX.....SPOT LOCK..AND SO ON.......and hears the kicker I own a pro 19 tracker....the is no comparison....

Bang for the buck as well as overall quality, Ranger seems to be pulling ahead if the pack. Sure Hewes Craft and Lunds are amazing boats but they're way too proud of them and want way too much money for them! In my opinion Ranger boats are just as good as their far more expensive competitors. My two cents on pricing. If you're spending $30k plus on a boat, what's another $2k for higher quality?! It's a no brainer to me.

The Ranger has a lot more options available. Priced out both and the price difference was 4K. Than I would have to spend 3K to get the stuff I couldn’t get as options on the Tracker. The motors that seem grossly inadequate are for HP restricted lakes we have some 10 & 20 hp lakes around here. Lots of electric lakes too.
Ranger's trailer alone is worth the premium. My 2001 tracker's trailer has rusted so badly that I had to buy an EZ Loader replacement for over $2000. Tube trailer is bound to rust. Ranger's C-Channel frame is much easer to spot rust and paint over. Also Tracker's gas cap is located in an impossible to fill position. Each gas fill reminds me of the engineers who designed the boat probably never owned the boat. Ranger's gas cap position is more natural. Yes ranger has thicker trolling cable wiring. But I have to say having a wooden desk allows me to open the deck up to replace the trolling wirings. After owning a tracker, my next boat won't be that again.

The truth is the tracker is only an economy boat just like Great Value it's a house brand,that boat don't even compare to Ranger or lund because they are Elite in the aluminum boats
Tracker boats makes it affordable for casual fishermen to get out and enjoy bass and crappie fishing when it might otherwise be cost prohibitive. They won't compare to the big expensive fiberglass rigs, but how many of us can afford those? Anyways, my 1999 Pro Team 175 has done well over the years and I've gotten my money's worth.

Noone makes a quality boat for a reasonable price. If anyone made a boat with .125 or .150 with decent amenities. With a 150 for 18ft and 17ft with a 115 for 28,000-30,000 and the 17 footer for 23-25000 and fit and finish that was good and the boxes that remain dry. They would own the market, but it won't happen because people keep buying all the substandard junk on the market

Well you did a couple of wrongs there. In the front line of Ranger there is no cheap boat. Now Ranger does sell the Ranger MVP series but the cheapest one of those is the 1652 then 1756 then the 1862 comes with boat and motor no trolling motor. Ranger are good boats but you have Xpress that you can get anything on it. Tracker boats what pisses me off with it only comes with a Mercury motor. You cant get Evinrude or Yamaha or Suzuki. See years ago tracker use to do that now they dont. You have no choices. I will stay with my Ranger 1862. Triton boats has the same models as Ranger the 17 the 18 and 19
Had a Tracker for 13 years, now own a Ranger. Ranger is hands down a better boat. That being said, it’s far from perfect. Ranger paint sucks! Sneeze too hard and it chips... Ranger lockers leak like a sieve in a hard rain.
I have owned three new Tracker boats the last 30 years and I can attest that Trackers are junk. First of all the tracker trailers are total junk. The axles are weak and bow if you buy any size 4-stroke outboard. The fenders and steps are terrible. I had to have mine welded several times. The tires wear out quickly due to the weak axles. The Tracker tires are 13 inch where Ranger is 14 inch. Another reason for poor tire performance. Ranger trailers are heavy duty and the axles are beefy. Take a close look at how tiny the tubes are on the Tracker trailers. I'm surprised they hold up the boat. Tracker boat decks are plywood vs aluminum on Ranger. That alone makes the Ranger a better boat. I could go on but I won't. I finally got smart and bought a Ranger. ZERO comparison and you would be surprised on the cost. I paid less for a Ranger. I upgraded the troller and also upgraded two GPS. My Ranger came with a custom trailer and wheels where Trackers have plastic caps...lol. There's just no comparison. Ranger all the way for me! Keep that Tracker long enough and it will disappoint you I promise. I don't plan to find out but I would say resale is another advantage. Do you want to advertise a Tracker or a Ranger. Once again it's a no brainer.
Agree w everything you said except one very important issue w the Rangers. I have had the 188 and 198 bottom line is that these boats due to there hall design cannot take any type of solid chop, the tracker can. My 2006 tx190 is worlds better in big water and welds arent failing left and right like the Rangers I have had.

I worked on boats and motors for years. The only big difference is wood floor which keeps the cost down. As for the wiring, well I have never seen a difference there. I can tell you from a experience my tracker is built very well. Boats I used to see short cuts in was bullet and skeeter I want buy there boats. I use to put new floors in boats, there is where you can see corners being cut. When I was buying I went to those areas and did not find any corners being cut in tracker. Bass tracker used to us very thin aluminum in there hulls but now they have fix that. Remember when you buy a ranger your also buying the name. Ranger is a good boat but use to hate to work on them. They had very poor engineers on the Rangers I worked on. When buying a boat quality is in what you don't see. A boat is a boat on the outside. You pay allot for a name.
Well, Mr. Spivey, I've got an old Ranger that has served me well and survived a long tournament history on the Great Lakes and others throughout the country. The engineering and quality have been better than any I've seen. My boat has lasted longer than anyone I personally know. For THAT reason I'm considering a Ranger and using it as my standard for comparison.
Edward Wacasey I didn't mean Ranger are not built well. The are one of the best. What I meant was that when I changed out steering cables instead of ranger creating a channel for cable to run through they covered it with foam. So we had to cut cable on both ends and leave it there. Then it would take hours to run new cable through the foam.

You might pay 2k more for a Ranger boat but you don’t have rot when it comes to the decking. No wood is well worth the 2k plus better carpet!

They are made in the same building and the exact same method for assembly as when they were in Arkansas except for how its painted

The 20 hp motor would be plenty for a friend who lives at a no wake 5 mph lake. Folks use pontoons that only have a 9.9hp.

Very similar experience on the Tracker boat. Unfortunately, the ranger RT178 now has the same tube trailer.

The early vinyl floors had issues with the glue showing thru but I hear they upgraded the vinyl and they have zero issues..

and the seats ! come on man thats like comparing a lawn chair to a seat in a mercedes and if you look on bass pros shelves for universal seats thats whats on your tracker. Another thing bass pro or what ever may own ranger but bass pro has never built a single ranger boat in their life they are just one of those companies that buys out other peoples stuff so they can call it theirs. Why are you even comparing tracker with a ranger ! You need to compare tracker with the aluminum jon boats that academy sports sells

Well you did a couple of wrongs there. In the front line of Ranger there is no cheap boat. Now Ranger does sell the Ranger MVP series but the cheapest one of those is the 1652 then 1756 then the 1862 comes with boat and motor no trolling motor. Ranger are good boats but you have Xpress that you can get anything on it. Tracker boats what pisses me off with it only comes with a Mercury motor. You cant get Evinrude or Yamaha or Suzuki. See years ago tracker use to do that now they dont. You have no choices. I will stay with my Ranger 1862. Triton boats has the same models as Ranger the 17 the 18 and 19
Had a Tracker for 13 years, now own a Ranger. Ranger is hands down a better boat. That being said, it’s far from perfect. Ranger paint sucks! Sneeze too hard and it chips... Ranger lockers leak like a sieve in a hard rain.

I have owned three new Tracker boats the last 30 years and I can attest that Trackers are junk. First of all the tracker trailers are total junk. The axles are weak and bow if you buy any size 4-stroke outboard. The fenders and steps are terrible. I had to have mine welded several times. The tires wear out quickly due to the weak axles. The Tracker tires are 13 inch where Ranger is 14 inch. Another reason for poor tire performance. Ranger trailers are heavy duty and the axles are beefy. Take a close look at how tiny the tubes are on the Tracker trailers. I'm surprised they hold up the boat. Tracker boat decks are plywood vs aluminum on Ranger. That alone makes the Ranger a better boat. I could go on but I won't. I finally got smart and bought a Ranger. ZERO comparison and you would be surprised on the cost. I paid less for a Ranger. I upgraded the troller and also upgraded two GPS. My Ranger came with a custom trailer and wheels where Trackers have plastic caps...lol. There's just no comparison. Ranger all the way for me! Keep that Tracker long enough and it will disappoint you I promise. I don't plan to find out but I would say resale is another advantage. Do you want to advertise a Tracker or a Ranger. Once again it's a no brainer.
Agree w everything you said except one very important issue w the Rangers. I have had the 188 and 198 bottom line is that these boats due to there hall design cannot take any type of solid chop, the tracker can. My 2006 tx190 is worlds better in big water and welds arent failing left and right like the Rangers I have had.
Ranger since the merger is a rebranded tracker with a few extra features again uneducated video guys just hungry for views

I worked on boats and motors for years. The only big difference is wood floor which keeps the cost down. As for the wiring, well I have never seen a difference there. I can tell you from a experience my tracker is built very well. Boats I used to see short cuts in was bullet and skeeter I want buy there boats. I use to put new floors in boats, there is where you can see corners being cut. When I was buying I went to those areas and did not find any corners being cut in tracker. Bass tracker used to us very thin aluminum in there hulls but now they have fix that. Remember when you buy a ranger your also buying the name. Ranger is a good boat but use to hate to work on them. They had very poor engineers on the Rangers I worked on. When buying a boat quality is in what you don't see. A boat is a boat on the outside. You pay allot for a name.

Well, Mr. Spivey, I've got an old Ranger that has served me well and survived a long tournament history on the Great Lakes and others throughout the country. The engineering and quality have been better than any I've seen. My boat has lasted longer than anyone I personally know. For THAT reason I'm considering a Ranger and using it as my standard for comparison.
Edward Wacasey I didn't mean Ranger are not built well. The are one of the best. What I meant was that when I changed out steering cables instead of ranger creating a channel for cable to run through they covered it with foam. So we had to cut cable on both ends and leave it there. Then it would take hours to run new cable through the foam.

The move will merge some of the largest brands in the fishing world under the same ownership.
