When I started watching this video and saw 100 thumbs down 👎 I was like wow 🤩 I wonder how bad this review is, but after watching the entire video, I agree with everything you just said. Yes you should totally be able to customize your own brand new boat and even the small complaints make sense, if Tracker boats is watching this video, please pay attention and make changes to the boat to give better customer experience and overall gain more customers and positive feedback. Awesome 👏😎 video, I really appreciate you posting this informative video brother 🙏👍👍👍👍👍👍👌👌👌🤝🤝🤝🍺🍺🍺😎😎🎣🎣🎣
Basstracker builds an affordable boat, it is not a high dollar unit. I have a 2012 175 pro team. And I have upgraded the boat, But for the person wanting an affordable boat you just can't beat it
Same here !!! After watching the “WHOLE VIDEO” this youngster knows the ins and outs about the boat bet his pops has a big part in it as well , however not bad in his complaints I can deal with…
You get what you pay for man. I have the exact boat and guess what, I use rod covers. I don't go from full throttle to neutral in one jerk so no water into the back of the boat. I've upgraded my trolling motor to a 70lb and it made a huge difference. Tracker makes these boats to get people on the water and fishing who can't afford $60-80k bass boats. You can easily replace the skids on the trailer, not hard at all.
These are 10 reasons why Tracker boats are affordable. Maybe when you work hard and buy your own boat you’ll be more grateful. I worked hard for my classic and have zero complaints. You get what you pay for.
Nick Hartman Like I said in the video, I do like the boat. These are things that tracker could improve on in the future. I’m currently making a “top 10 best things about tracker boats” video. Thanks for watching!🔥🤙
My thoughts exactly! Lets make a video of all the bad things my dad paid for doesn't cut it in my house. Fish from shore or a public pier and see how great the boat is next weekend!
To help you out with number 6. I have a 195 and what I do is when you’re coming to a stop shift it into neutral then go back to forward to push the boat forward a little. You’ll completely miss the wake coming back to the boat and the back of the boat will be dry
@@PhilosophyDaily I was about to make the same suggestion haha. You don't even have to go into neutral, when you're coming to a stop and you feel the boat kind of sitting back down into the water just bump the throttle a little bit and that will keep the water from washing up into the boat. Thats actually a thing almost all boats do, not just your tracker.
@@justintimothy9063 I have a 1995 pro 17 I have had 2 problems 1 tail light we y bad and had to replace, and the runners rotted after 20 years. I still have all ariginal equipment including tires and when not in use it's inside a building
I have a 2020 Tracker 175 TXW tournament edition, you are spot on about the bunks on the trailer. The boat and engine have 9 hours of run time. I have already had to replace the bunk boards on the trailer, they literally rotted and fell into pieces, but on a good note they are very easy to replace and a good quality marine bunk padding is not very much money, I spent like $150 on new treated boards and new bunk padding, took about two hours and I was finished. Good video man.
I have a 2018 heritage classic and have the issue with my seat post loosening. I upgrade trolling motor which is remote, sooo...no foot pedal to trip over
I have a 2005 PT175 and love it. The trailer bunks are not made from PT lumber due to the reactions from the chemicals used to treat the lumber will also eat away at the hull of the boat.
I have the 2000 pro team 175, no issue at all with seat post mounts and its 24 years old lol. As for my rod holders i just place rod sleeves over my rods before i store. Dont have a trolling motor foot pedal tray so i can place the pedal anywhere i want. Mine came with the 40 or 45 troll motor, used it for many years, I was surprised how well it did on the Detroit river, I had to have it on high but it got the job done, i have since went to a 55 troll motor, wanted to stay at 12 volts vs the added weight of anouther battery. My live well does not fill up like yours does, perhaps you have a issue with the pump letting water threw when not on? I do agree about the very dim lights and also wish the back was designed straight instead of the wings. Not becouse water comes in but would like to add a very small kicker moter for trolling but cant becouse of the wings. I count myself BLESSED to have my bass tracker, many have no boat at all as I was at one time..
ALSO I PICKED MY PAINT (4 COLORS), VINYL DECK VS CARPET, MOTOR SIZE (4 OPTIONS, AND I PICKED A JET DRIVE THAT WASNT LISTED AS AN OPTION", LIVEWELL SIZE, ETC. VERY CUSTOMIZABLE.
I have a 175Team also...they are powdercoated, with Vinyl Printed Adhesive graphics over, so its a big bumper sticker that scratches and chips fairly easy, use your bumpers and stay off the docks when you can!
I bought an 08 PT175 TXW last year and your right, 45lbs is way under powered for that boat. Granted it HAD the original Motorguide POS on it which has been upgraded to a Minn Kota Terrova 55lbs thrust. 10 more lbs and more efficient prop design made a huge difference. Since mine is an 08 I don't have the inset pedal which makes me happy. My only complaint is the stitching in the seats rotted out. Probably due to lack of care from the previous owner. It's one of BPS best sellers for it's price point. Limiting the options on it keeps the price down. I bought it used instead of dumping a ton of cash on a new one because they last. You can catch just as many fish on a tracker vs. a $50k boat. The boat doesn't catch the fish...
I have the same boat and agree with everything you touched on. The only thing I would add is that the trailer and wheels are going to rust. Mine has only been in freshwater and I've had to repair rust on the tongue hinge after only 2 years . My last Tracker was 20 years old when I sold it and never had rust on the trailer but the wheels had to be replaced because of it.
The 2021 pro team 195 tournament edition comes with a 70lb thrust 24v trolling motor. And i heard that treated lumber now has a chemical in it that will cause small rust/pit holes to come in your aluminum boat. I used some cypress wood from a lumber mill to replace mine with. Not treated or pine. Just what i did.
Have you had any problems with the flooring and carpet on your Tracker Boat? The carpet on my boat is staring to come loose and there is a popping/cracking sound while walking or standing in certain areas of the deck. Thanks
Good points. Thanks for the video. I’m looking at trackers now as my first boat. I’m hoping my dealer will do some customization as I am not handy with tools enough to attempt changes to the boat.
I have had a Tracker 190tx since 2012 and 90% of the things you mentioned i have no issues with. My foot pedal isnt in a tray, i ca. Move it wherever i want for the most part. The rod holder is a problem.
A few hints put lock washers on the seat that keeps loosening , replace your full light with an L.E.D. light, you need to put a pump back there to drain excess water. Repl e your trolling motor with an upgrade, the supports the boat sits on is a simple fix replace the wood with high grade marine wood
What more do you want for the price? I want this boat, i dont really like fishing when its windy so I think it will be perfect. As for rod storage I wouldn't mind building and installing some rod rack storage holders. I mainly fish for catfish and think this boat would me great for that. With some rod racks installed I know I can turn it into a catfish rig.
carolina outlaw I have a video that will help you a lot! Here’s the video titled “tracker classic vs 175” ua-cam.com/video/DSFy4iy2sZ4/v-deo.html I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, please ask. Thanks for watching!🔥
10- 80% of the seat videos I see are about the posts not coming out easily. Maybe something you should check ever time you take the boat out. 9- Adjust your seat post to get the proper leg bend. I like standing up and leaning against the seat. sounds like a personal preference thing. 8- Check your battery strength. Lights were fine on my 175txw and are on my current Targa v19. 7- Agreed. Took mine out and use rod socks. 6- Slow down more gradually. Operator error dude, lol. 5- Think your beating up the boat up. Looks like dock rash. Haven't had any paint issues in 4 years of tracker ownership. 4- Agreed. might be cause by your instant stops, see number #6. 3- Agreed Upgrade required. needs a 70lb or higher thrust but you bought a cheaper boat so spend to upgrade. 2- Agreed. Although treated lumber and aluminum don't mix. so replace with composite. 1- untrue. It may not be an option on their ordering website but you can buy and have them install anything you like.I had 4 lithium batteries, a different 4 bank battery charger, a Garmin graph, A Force trolling motor, all of which they installed prior to me picking up the boat. You whining about a lot of BS in my opinion.
The transom and the foot tray are the two things I don't like as far as the lights you would be surprised how far they can be seen. I have a 16 1/2 foot Lowe very similar and the transom is straight. No water ever come over even when I shut the motor off going fast.
I love mine, I love aluminum boats, specifically All Welded. I've had 4 bass boats, Alumacraft was great, this is my first Tracker, I love it. Aluminum over Fiberglass anyday.
I have a 1999 Pro Team 175. It has given me years of service. The only repaired I had to get the starter replaced. Re #5 the trackers then were not painted but had vinyl decals. If water got under them it would bubble and peel up. Nearly half on the port side did this on my boat.
Bass trackers are a great beginner boat say what you want about the price 20-30k for a brand new boat is cheap compared to the new boats in todays time and as far as the lights go you can change the bulbs in them very easily and you can get brighter bulbs or even whole new poles for lighting and i somewhat agree on the ass end taking on water i have a 2014 190 it pissed me off the first time i did it but now i just time it right when you let off and your wake pushes you up just time it right and give the motor some throttle and push away from it quickly and it should fix it from splashing inside your boat if your timing is right! The live wells taking on water doesnt bother me it emptys water as soon as you take off if your valves are open. I agree with the trolling motor and placement of the pedal im 6’2 and pretty hefty i hate where the pedal sits but. Like i said its a mass produced cheaper boat what can ya do... also with the trailer boards. Treated lumber wont last much longer either tbh but its not too hard just figure out how long your new 2x4s need to be and get two of them and before you take the boat out id use carpet instead of felt. It does the same exact thing it just keeps you from scratching the bottom of your boat but carpet will last 2 times longer but before you get your boat off the trailer just carpet those boards and go fishing have your dad take the trailer home or you take the trailer home and it shouldnt take but a few minutes to take the old boards off and put some new boards on.
Nice video! I have bass tracker 250 and no problems. In my opinion there’s way to many complaints, Trailer was clearly preowned. Customization is a personal thing in boats.
TLBassing We bought the boat and trailer brand new. I’m not saying tracker makes bad boats, I just think there’s plenty of room for improvement! Thanks for watching!🔥🤙
A couple of things: You had to hit something to get those scratches besides trees. Lots of docks have barnacles that really mess up the side of a boat. There shouldn't be leakage into a live well unless a inlet hose or outlet hose has a hole or tear in it or the exit is not sealed well. Better find out why. As I recall, the boat you show has a pump out live well, and it doesn't completely pump out all the water. As for the trolling motor and the pedal, it came that way so either upgrade or live with it. You should have sat in the boat before you bought it. There a lot of quality boats that have the problem of water coming over the transom and it is usually because of a sudden stop. And by the by, if you notice other boats on the water you will see that the tracker sits really low in the back and really high in the front. Why? I can't imagine. My G3 doesn't and that is one reason I picked it over the Tracker. As for the rest, you know what Boat means, right? Break Out Another Thousand. I've had my G3 for 13 years now and have I been trouble free? NO, not at all. Trailer lights for one. Trolling motor blew the fuses a couple of times. Simple repairs actually. My boat came with a 40 lb thrust and has been adequate is not more than adequate. That all depends on the battery. If you are not recharging after every trip, or the battery is a few years old it will not be up to speed. Maintenance, maintenance, maintenance. It is a full time job if you do it right and you'll have to! A Tracker, G3 or any boat in this price range allows you to get into fishing and allows you to upgrade when you have the funds. I've seen a lot of 50 thousand dollar boats that look like someone has literally beat them to death and do not perform as well as a Tracker. Let's just hope you will just enjoy fishing and realize that the boat lives in the harshest of environments and needs a little care when used and a lots of maintenance. I've scratched mine some trying my best not too. Driving it up on a gravel shore did me not good, letting it rest against the barnacled dock was a real mistake. Hey, touch it up and fish on! If it's running fine in 10 years and the trailer is holding it up, you've got a great boat. Changing the bunks is no big deal. There are three or four good videos of how to do that on You Tube. Measure your boards, go to Lowe's or a lumber yard and get the two by fours cut to the proper length, get 'em treated if you want or not. Get the carpet you want, a staple gun with staples, galvanized screws and a drill, etc. Wrap the boards at home, leave the bottom unwrapped so the water will drain and dry faster. Go to lake, launch the boat so you can get to the boards and take off the old boards and put on the new. Heck, if it takes you an hour I'll be surprised. There are two theories about using treated and non treated boards. I use non treated. I don't wrap the bottom of the boards because fully wrapped boards trap the water and it takes a long time for them to dry. A good seasoned two by four will drain and last a really long time. Witness the fact that fences put around the yards have two by fours holding up the fences and unless termites or ants get to them they will be there for 10 years sitting in the rain, snow, sun. That's my story.
Man, see to me this is great information. I do not own a boat but am considering this very boat barely used. This information is invaluable to me. I will probably look at something else. The wood runners just says "We dont give 2 shits and we will hide this from you with this cheap ass carpet" and " Oh by the way, that part has only 1 year warranty because that is when the screws will fall out and you will notice heavy rotten wood under your increasingly scratched up boat"
@@daniels2937 Virtually all trailers come with untreated wood runners, not just Trackers. I’ve replaced the bunk wood on every trailer that I ever owned. It’s an easy, fairly inexpensive task that takes only a few minutes once the carpet or covering is installed on the bunks.
If you go to someone other than bass pro they'll upgrade anything you want from the trolling motor to the electronics and even install a jackplate if you want it
Gary Wooten We went to the bass tracker center to make our final purchase. I have another video coming this Friday where I talk about “upgrades” they will make to the boat when buying. Yes you can upgrade but it’s a scam. Thanks for watching and have a Merry Christmas!🔥🤙
bought a new triton tx-18 new in 2020 just got serviced at bass pro all the people in the shop at bass pro were impressed how much better the triton was made then the tracker.❤❤❤
Looking real hard at getting one and price is playing a big part in my decision. Thanx for the heads up about all the issues you have found with the brand. Good review👍
They are not that bad. Well i have the 195. Water over the back...easy fix. Colors didn't really matter to me. Trolling motor I replaced with 70lb spot lock. Was able to sell the motor that came on it for 400.00. Lights cheap fix. I still use the ones that came with boat. Haven't had the livewell problem yet. I won't keep going. But the biggest complaint I had was the wood bunks on the trailer.
Can’t find the Tracker Pro 175, 75 hp wiring diagram anywhere.None of the diagrams I’ve found show 10 fuse power panels. No helpful links, I believe it’s done on purpose.
Nice vid thank you. I’m considering a tracker 190tx and I look forward to your next vid. Also, yes...you did say “in my opinion” and “annoying” too many times (in my opinion lol), but as time goes on, you’ll get better at these vids. I think you presented a lot of good info here. Good job man.
My tracker 190 is awesome! It’s a 2006. Bought it in 2007. Had to have the fuel pump rebuilt when I got it and replaced the oil level sensor in 2020, but other than that I use it 2-3 times a month all year. It recently started having problems with my fish not making it home alive so I ordering a new recirculation pump. Also the 90hp opimax get her up to 45mph… fast enough for me. I highly recommend these boats to anyone wanting to get into bass fishing on a budget.
How do you like your mercury optimax?? I'm also looking to buy a tracker with your same optimax. I never had a newer 2stroke outboard. I'm not sure on the reliability. Thanks
Laura Scott I have a 2015 175TXW, has been a great boat, I have not experience any of the issues he’s referring to. These are somewhat entry level boats that are very much customizable. The stock trolling motors are not ideal, I upgraded because I wanted GPS spot lock and a 24 V system. I have also upgraded much more...because you can afford to make it your own, because of the lower purchase price. You cannot use treated lumber containing copper against aluminum on these boats it will cause the aluminum to corrode. Replacing the trailer bunks are inexpensive, there are options as well to replace with much longer lasting material. By the way, my bunks are original and showing no signs of decay or significant wear on the bunk carpet (not felt). Ranger boats are obviously also a great option, but I would not look past the tracker based on this video.
For 12k with a 50 mercury outboard it’s not gonna be a perfect boat you know. I’m actually in the market and looking to buy a new classic xl. In my opinion, everything that was said wasn’t a deal breaker. I do appreciate your input though and if and when I decide to buy, I’ll keep these things in mind.
they dont use treated wood on the trailer or decks because it will corrode aluminum... galvanic corrosion with the copper and other metals in treated lumber
This is completely false. After in depth research, modern day treated lumber will not corrode aluminum! If you do not believe me, the tag in store also says "will not corrode aluminum." Thanks for watching!
@@PUTEMDOWNProductions So in this case its better to corrode the wood. Makes sense, not. Why not a smooth hard plastic. Waterproof, rustproof, and scratch proof.
Daniel S 2x4’s are cheap and only takes 15 min to change bunk boards at the lake. Just a maintenance item, id rather change bunks every couple years for $10 than have two rotten spots in the bottom of my boat.
Man....a 45lb trolling motor on my little grizzly 1448 is still underpowered imo! If I’m heading into a decent wind I have to put it on max power to move my little baby boat
I'm not having all those issues with my 2019 175. Except...the Tracker trolling motor situation totally sucks! 45# definitely too weak! And the Edge is just horrible...
I own a 2006 PT 175 with the 75hp Merc. You missed a couple of items. The license plate holder is entirely too low and the trailer drive lights are really hard to change. I agree with all of your points. I bought the boat because of price. I am still happy with it though. Have you upgraded to a bigger trolling motor yet?
I bought a 2008 PT 190 90hp 2 stroke of the showroom floor. The only problem i can relate to is the 45 lbs trolling motor. The bunks on the trailer lasted unti 2022. The fish finders were junk too! I recessed the trolling pedal also.
First off, the trackers are aimed at beginners or your fun fishermen. I do see some valid complaints like the trailer. I'm sure that if you wanted to buy a fortrex, ultrex, etc they would have no problem doing that when buying new. It's your money after all, I don't see them turning away a sale. I realize they're not much to change when buying. But again, it's not intended to be a serious tournament rig.
just a FYI buddy the Live Well is suppose to continue to fill up with water and drain some. The reason is to keep the water fresh and keep your live bait alive.
I agree, Every "bass" boat i have ever owned, the water would come over the back if you did not slow gradually down. Boats do not stop on a dime either.
I upgraded the motor, trolling motor (24V, 80Lb) and electronics (Hummin Bird Helix 10) before I picked it up. Of course, Bass pro tried to rip me off by saying that I couldn't have the items I upgraded. The big motor I understand because it came in the base package, however the trolling motor and electronics didn't. I paid for them in the package of the boat. After a few heated conversations with Bass Pro folks and phone calls to Tracker, I got them back.
I just gotta say that this was way too whiny and annoying and while I will keep an eye on a few things you mentioned when my boat arrives I am actually relieved to find that none of the complaints were anything very serious.
Nice presentation except for the recurring "I my opinion". We know it is your opinion. If you are quoting someone else credit them. Otherwise everyone understands that what you say, unless you are quoting stats or others, is your opinion.
Should have got a Pro 170. The rod box is great on them and you can move the trolling motor pedal. You bought the wrong boat if these are your issues....
I just got a 2024 SG v-16 for $18,000 it sucks compared to my brother in law’s Skeeter but his is also $80k. I totally accept my boats short comings, and there’s alot but it got me off the bank and im happy witht the reliability of the 40HP Merc. You should humble up some: hug your dad for providing you a fishing vessel.
The fact that I can't customize the boat at the dealership is ridiculous. For example, if I got a 175 TXW, I would want to upgrade the electronics and the trolling motor. When I went in and asked them about doing that, the response was that I could buy the upgraded components and then install them at my own cost. Then I would still be stuck with the new electronics and motor that was on the boat. Just stupid that I can't trade those original components for the upgraded trolling motor and electronics. I'm looking at other brands because of this.
OK, so he says it's not customizable, but that's what happens when you want to buy a boat at a decent price. If they had 40 customizable options, the cost would be more. When I get my 2021 Pro team 175tf I ordered, the first thing I'm doing is putting on my own trolling motor. BUT, it will cost me $220 for the dealer to do or I void my warranty, so you can "customize" for Tracker, it's just going to cost you if you want to keep the warranty.
I agree about the seats leaning back but it’s so you can set the hook and the trolling motor problem you might just need to practice a bit more and the V shape 100 agree that pisses me off all the time lol I don’t agree with the paint tho i don’t know y it’s chipping lol their diamond coat works very very well lol the live well I have a different experience with the live well pull the red spray airater and it drains it and the bass tracker livewells are the best the 195 TE comes with a bigger trolling motor but I will prolly upgrade mine to a 100-110 even if I didn’t have the 195 TE the trailer comes with the boat free and I’ve never had a problem with them and I think their pretty durable and I agree about the customization but they changed that a bit and you can change the fish finder by yourself it’s not that hard lol but yea
The bunks on the trailer are not treated because treated lumber is corrosive to aluminum it has copper impregnated in it that’s why you buy a boat from the 80s and replace the transom wood the transom is got power substance all over
Josh Bennett A lot of anglers believe that. It’s actually completely false. Modern treated lumber will not corrode the boat. Don’t take my word for it, it says on the lumber “will not corrode aluminum.” Thanks for watching!🔥💪
BucketMouthBass I don’t believe it I work with aluminum on aircraft by trade and have been through extensive school about corrosion types are galvanic, stress fillaform, heat, pitting, dissimilar. Any metal of dissimilar composition in contact with metal with the needed atmosphere to corrode will and treated lumber contains a components copper and the constant water and contact is why bunks are best to be regular lumber with marine sealer
Josh Bennett Again, treated lumber will not corrode your boat. Just make sure you purchase the wood that says it won’t corrode aluminum! Thanks for watching!🔥🤙
I also have a video about the top 10 best. This video is for people looking to buy. Unfortunately, too 10 worst is more exciting than top 10 best, so that video goes unnoticed. Thanks for watching!
You can customize your bass tracker just don't use bass pro. Getting me a new one and my local boat sales said they will do anything i wanted for a cost but I get it how I want it .
Re #2 after many years my rails rotted. I made new ones myself with treated lumber and outdoor carpet. Re #1 I would like to be able to customize it also! They stopped offering a choice of blue ☹. Also need choice of fish finders, trolling motor, etc.
If you have a great dealer they would of taken care of some things. For example I wanted a 24v Ultrex and didn't want the electronics. He gave me the the cash for the Fortrex that came with it and also the tiny Lowrance units. The money almost paid for the Ultrex. I already had my electronics.
So rod locker problem? Use good sleeves. The lighting problem...change it. The problem of water coming up on the boat...learn how trim comes in handy to stop that. It’s an aluminum boat so just fix it and it will last for ever. The trolling motor is a give me type thing “you bought a boat so this is what it has”...upgrade it. Dude stop whining about everything you took years to make a list of. Boats are money pits if you fished every day you’d have a “top 30 problems” get over it and maintain the boat and upgrade the boat before you say anything towards downing the boat.
lmao atstupid That’s the whole point. They want you to spend more money upgrading. My point is that you shouldn’t have to when buying a brand new boat. Thanks for watching!🔥
I see your point and it’s a valid point but what works for some doesn’t for others it’s all according to the user. Some may do things differently and it works for them were some don’t and it doesn’t work for them. My first message came off as me being rude and I wasn’t trying to. I look at it this way. For the price of boats nowadays it’s surprising that they even come setup the way they are and with trolling motors, depth finders and every other non essential item to get on the water.
lmao atstupid I agree, things are different depending on user and conditions. These are the things I have noticed. Thanks for sharing your opinion and for watching!🔥🤙
@@PhilosophyDaily its a low end boat, if you're gonna get a tracker, get a good one thats used. That way you have the money to put into customs, and upgrades that YOU prefer. If you want a new boat, then get a boat thats worth that 20,000 price and has the things you are looking for my dude. To be blunt, it seems like you didnt do enough reserch, and just jumped on the first boat you saw. I know this, because I did the same thing when I went out and bought my first car. I saved 22grand from when I was 16 and worked till I was 18 and bought a new 2016 subaru impreza with cash in hand in 2017. Now that im looking for a boat I kinda regret getting a small sedan, and would rather havr gotten an suv or small pickup with good milage. With boats, I know, and are well aware of the issues, growing up fishing on my fathers vessles, and now that im looking for one of my own. Im still doing reserch even though most would assume I'd know whats the right boat to get from the start. But in the end, it seems youre stuck with what you got. Yes upgrading a new boat to your liking sucks but thats just what happens. I can say, you showed some good points, such as the seats losening up, and the lights are a safety issue, but the light is pretty fixable. Just aknowledging that problem is good for others who maybe content on getting one of these boats; so consumers could be aware of the lights being a bit too dim and having to upgrade from the start, if they plan on going out at night. All n all, I think you did a good service making this video.
The Rc Master6042 Glad you enjoyed the video overall! We bought our first boat used and had a very poor experience, that’s a big reason why we picked up a new one. Thanks for watching!🔥🤙
Welcome to boat ownership. These complaints come with any boat. IMO, I have the Tracker classic and also have an 87 Tracker tournament TX and don’t have these complaints. BOAT stand for Bust Out Another Thousand. Number 6 happens because you slam the engine down from higher speeds. Water comes into the back of any boat i ever been in or have when that is done. You have to gradually slow down. I have a minn kota terrova 55 on my classic and it does really well in the wind. I rarely use any stock trolling motor on the boat. Should have upgraded when you bought it. That complaint, imo, is your fault because you bought an undersized trolling motor with your boat. Paint chips? Hah? That’s going to happen, unless you trying to win show trophies, I would not be complaining about that. It’s going to happen with any boat. I have been around boats for 28 years. Rods bending in tubes? You put more stress on a rod pulling and jerking it while fishing than what damage a tube is going to do. Welcome. Only see really one or two complaints that even can remotely be considered. All the rest of the are just normal boat ownership and how you handle it.
Pressure treated wood will release chemicals in the water that will corrode the aluminum. At the time of the video I assume you were new to owning a boat and didn’t realize that just like with the complaint about backwash coming over the stern. Slow down and ease to a stop and that won’t be as much of a problem. However, the majority of this video sounds like y’all wanted a $70,000 skeeter or falcon on a bass tracker budget.
These boats are not high end made, if you don’t want any issues as mentioned, then buy a boat you can build yourself to meet your needs. It won’t be the price if a tracker. I have a 2024 tracker 170 pro, I knew what I was getting “before” I bought it.
Well Bucketmouth no offense to you but it sounds that you and "your Dad" should have chosen another boat brand. #1-Pedal placement - I have a 2017 Tracker PTF 175 with the Ulterra trolling motor and I can move the foot pedal anywhere within 15' or operate by the remote control (problem solved). #2 - water over the back . I believe most real boaters know that you should slow down gradually to avoid a "transom rush". ( I also have a 36" Baja Outlaw with two Merc 700hp racing motors and would NEVER think of just shutting down after an 80 - 100 mph run. Problem solved). #3 - water in livewell . I also experienced this issue. I tightened the drain plug, closed the fill valve tight and plugged the drain hole at transom and the dash switch is turned OFF! #4 - Trailer issues - just an FYI, Tractor does not build trailers. The opinions you mentioned are typicall offered at higher-end trailers.Again, I do not mean to be offensive or a smart ass. You did a great job on the video, but your opinions are just that, Your opinions. You and you Dad are lucky to have a nice boat, Enjoy your boat and your time fishing together. That is PRICELESS ! Treated wood can cause corrosion on aluminum. It reacts to the treatment in the wood. Especially when it gets wet. I know this because I recently bought an old bass tracker. The decking and flooring was replaced with treated wood. When I removed it all. It was waterlogged underneath and where the wood touched to aluminum there was a lot of corrosion. So much that there were pin holes all the way through the boat. Long story short. It is better to buy untreated wood, paint it thoroughly, then wrap it with carpet of your choosing.
Whys everyone hating on the guy. Even iffff his parents did buy him the boat. Why are u so butthurt? Never had parents like his? Dont hate on people for being in a different situation as u. Thats pretty childish to call him spoiled and what not when all hes doing is making an informative vid. Grow up guys
Seems like he should pay more attention to catching fish then worrying about customizing the pain color as the #1 complaint. Same people also bitch how much the upgrades are and honestly I would rather spend the money on gear and sandwiches. Stay safe.
Aaron, I was thinking the same thing. It's the difference between a $25k boat and a $50k boat. The problems are pretty trivial considering the money difference. I just bought a 2020 Targa 18 combo. I looked at Lund, Starcraft, Crestliner, Alumicraft.....they all came in $8 to $10k more....AND that was without trolling motors, fish finders, etc. I can live with, or change, some of the minor issues associated with the Tracker when the bottom line is over $10k less!
Shotgun Willy Certain things such as crappy wiring, poor carpet, and weak trolling motor will push the price of the tracker to that of other brands. Why not just buy another brand and not worry about upgrading??
@@PhilosophyDaily I don't believe I said anything about upgrading. Let me re-read.....Nope, nothing!. What I was saying, is the things you mentioned are minor considering the value of the boat. I'm capable of fixing most problems myself. I'd probably mumble about it, but I'd also remember I paid $10k less than the "upgraded" boat!

And I have upgraded the boat,
But for the person wanting an affordable boat you just can't beat it
@@fxsts959 yea but their great value they don’t cheap out!
Agreed, you can easily replace them, but treated lumber from the factory seems like a no-brainer. Love my 195 now though.
Well said , it’s a budget boat designed to get people on the water 🤷♂️
This guy reminds me of Ricky Bobbie from talladega nights not knowing what to do with his hands!
DeSiatoDeSignscom And yet you still watched. 🔥

Dylan Goolsby Awesome! Thanks for watching!🔥

Why did I just watch this. I love my 2020 Tracker Classic XL.
Greg Datre I’m not saying I don’t like the boat. I’m saying there’s many areas to improve on! Thanks for tuning in!🔥💪
Is it worth it? I’ve been looking at them.
Yes just got one for the money they are kick ass
I have the same boat. Love mine too. Bought mine as the “big catch package”
I have a 2018 heritage classic and have the issue with my seat post loosening. I upgrade trolling motor which is remote, sooo...no foot pedal to trip over
I’ve seen a few videos on this channels and i have to wonder why you don’t buy another brand of boat?
jedward5050 Thanks for watching!🔥
I have a 2005 PT175 and love it. The trailer bunks are not made from PT lumber due to the reactions from the chemicals used to treat the lumber will also eat away at the hull of the boat.
I have a brand new 2020 PRO170, i have none of these issues, I considered everything fully. Just my opinion

In my opinion I got a bass tracker to learn from my mistakes. That way in the future when I get a better new boat I know what and what not to do.
Sounds like an expensive lesson
Yes it will, it’s best to use marine grade tember and or untreated and coat it with a resin.
SO WHAT DO YOU LIKE? THE SEATS AND STEERING WHEEL GRIP?

They can keep the costs on these things down by limiting customization. And the wood part of the trailer is called the bunks.
michael walker It wouldn’t cost much to change seats, add 10 pounds to the troll, etc. Thanks for watching!🔥🤙
Good points. Thanks for the video. I’m looking at trackers now as my first boat. I’m hoping my dealer will do some customization as I am not handy with tools enough to attempt changes to the boat.
How do you change the wood bunkers?
I have had a Tracker 190tx since 2012 and 90% of the things you mentioned i have no issues with. My foot pedal isnt in a tray, i ca. Move it wherever i want for the most part. The rod holder is a problem.
A few hints put lock washers on the seat that keeps loosening , replace your full light with an L.E.D. light, you need to put a pump back there to drain excess water. Repl e your trolling motor with an upgrade, the supports the boat sits on is a simple fix replace the wood with high grade marine wood
Alvin Wine I believe these are features that the boat should already come with. We bought the boat brand new! Thanks for watching!🔥🤙

Nearly half on the port side did this on my boat.
lsnead72 Thanks for sharing and watching!🔥
Tyler Harty Thanks for watching!
As far as the bunks being rotten, I would replace with TREK boards, cost two and a half times more but should last forever
You are absolutely right on all nine things I have the same problems
Todd Knox Glad to hear your opinion! Thanks for watching!🔥🤙
Daniel S Glad I could help, good luck in your boat hunt!🔥
@@daniels2937 Virtually all trailers come with untreated wood runners, not just Trackers. I’ve replaced the bunk wood on every trailer that I ever owned. It’s an easy, fairly inexpensive task that takes only a few minutes once the carpet or covering is installed on the bunks.

Laura Scott Glad I could help! Which model are you looking at?🔥
BucketMouthBass right now just looking at the differences between bass tracker and ranger. Still in the early stages.
Laura Scott We definitely took a good look at ranger as well. Decided to go with tracker because it’s cheaper.🔥
Kenny Fernald Treated lumber will not corrode aluminum. Glad you enjoy you boat. Thanks for watching!🔥
For 12k with a 50 mercury outboard it’s not gonna be a perfect boat you know. I’m actually in the market and looking to buy a new classic xl. In my opinion, everything that was said wasn’t a deal breaker. I do appreciate your input though and if and when I decide to buy, I’ll keep these things in mind.

i bought mine new in 2020 and had them update the trolling to a Ultrix 80 pound trust
they dont use treated wood on the trailer or decks because it will corrode aluminum... galvanic corrosion with the copper and other metals in treated lumber
This is completely false. After in depth research, modern day treated lumber will not corrode aluminum! If you do not believe me, the tag in store also says "will not corrode aluminum." Thanks for watching!
Id still beg to differ but hey its your boat, do as you wish...

Idk if u notice the water in the live well drains a bit as u drive so it’s not gonna cause u to lose any speed 👌🏽
CARL Perry Thanks for watching!🔥
Chad Phillips I disagree. If you buy a “tournament” edition bass tracker, it should be ready for serious tournament fishing. Thanks for watching!🔥
just a FYI buddy the Live Well is suppose to continue to fill up with water and drain some. The reason is to keep the water fresh and keep your live bait alive.
I don't know about now, but at one time, Bass Pro Shops would allow you to upgrade the trolling motor and the electronics.
Don’t let off the throttle right away when getting off plane and water won’t come over the back of your boat
Hookn on the Weekends Well yea. But sometimes you have to quickly stop. Thanks for watching!🔥
These are not problems. Things I would fix in the off season and just learn to operate boat better.
I just gotta say that this was way too whiny and annoying and while I will keep an eye on a few things you mentioned when my boat arrives I am actually relieved to find that none of the complaints were anything very serious.
Fully agree with number 3. I’m always having trouble with trying to fight wind and waves with that small of a trolling motor🤦🏼♂️
If you buy from a local dealer you can customize. I just bought a pro guide and customized the crap out of it
Nice presentation except for the recurring "I my opinion". We know it is your opinion. If you are quoting someone else credit them. Otherwise everyone understands that what you say, unless you are quoting stats or others, is your opinion.
Tony Jetton Thanks for watching. I like to be very clear!🔥🤙
I could not agree more! Thanks for watching! LMK what boat you decide to buy!
I follow you on your channel from here in Mexico excellent videos!!!
I ordered my 2019 Tracker 175 with vinyl flooring...
You didn't have to buy it. Did you get alot of bang for your In your opinyon
I also have a video about the top 10 best. This video is for people looking to buy. Unfortunately, too 10 worst is more exciting than top 10 best, so that video goes unnoticed. Thanks for watching!
Put thread take on the seat and also just get a different tm like a xi3 or xi5 pedal problem fixed
Also need choice of fish finders, trolling motor, etc.
lsnead72 could not agree more! We recently replaced our rails too.🔥
If you have a great dealer they would of taken care of some things. For example I wanted a 24v Ultrex and didn't want the electronics. He gave me the the cash for the Fortrex that came with it and also the tiny Lowrance units. The money almost paid for the Ultrex. I already had my electronics.
Never good to have treated wood on a trailer with an aluminum boat. It will destroy the aluminum because of a chemical reaction.
Doug Hodson I would definitely put a better quality carpet over the wood to prevent any issues! Thanks for watching!🔥🤙
Really? Seems many people do that when they changed out the original rotten ones.
Yes Justin. Look it up. Just because some people do it doesn't make it right.
Justin Thanks for watching. A clear coat could prevent the issue as well.🤔
@@PhilosophyDaily How about a solid plastic/rubber type runner
Ok, yes, they should use some sort of composite material instead of lumber on the trailer.
Good video young man.
James Warren Thanks for your support!🔥🤙
@@PhilosophyDaily you're welcome
Bassmaster
Good video Sir. Thanks !
Thanks for watching!
Don’t use treated wood it will eat the bottom of the boat , treated wood and aluminum do not go together
Greg Walden not true. Thanks for watching!🔥
Waters coming over the back because you are slowing down too quick and not trimmed properly. Not the boats fault.
You're stuff is good....just too many commercial's. Love ya man!
Ali Thanks for watching!🔥🤙
Yea definitely put treated wood on the bottom 👍
Thanks for watching!
So no structural issues or major mechanical issues? Send it 💪
Seems like he should pay more attention to catching fish then worrying about customizing the pain color as the #1 complaint. Same people also bitch how much the upgrades are and honestly I would rather spend the money on gear and sandwiches. Stay safe.
Awesome Dave Thanks for watching!🔥
Sounds like you just need to drop the 70k on a ranger or nitro 😂
Aaron Lopez Thanks for watching bud!🔥
Shotgun Willy exactly. I bet the reason they went with tracker was price. Now he’s bitching about the boat.
I have a 2019 190 tx and I have none of these issues.
