Don't overlook Radscorpion Eggs. Radscorpion Egg Omelettes are free Addictol without the negative effects, feeds you, and is a not too shabby healing item for only 0.1 weight.
Husky Hammer I do like that about Fallout 4, it feels a lot easier to jump in and play. As much as New Vegas is my second favourite game ever, it's a bit harder to have a quick session. I feel as if I need to really settle down for a while to make progress.
Interesting. I also noticed that at this episode...something about the number 69 must be strange. Yeah Fallout 4 is an odd one for me, I certainly don't love the world, story or the quests as much as others...but it seems the worst for the "Just five more minutes" That quickly turns in to "Okay I'll check this one place, what if there's a good weapon and I forget next time?" Flashforward and it's like 8 hours later. I never choose to do that with Fallout 4...it just happens. The others I purposefully get absorbed in to.
Jon, Sniper giving 25% head shot as well as McCready's companion perk gives 45% head shot hit chance. Which basically gives long range 50/50 hit chance no matter what. Which can be fun.
Fastest way to "speed run" the Vault-Tec DLC is to kill Barstow right after you clear the last debris pile separating you from her. She has the schematics on her corpse. you just miss out on the ghoul hunters vault suit.
I got to the toy factory in the late game, and it was hell in there. The mutants were fighting the Brotherhood, some synths just came out of nowhere and to top it all up, the noise attracted several Gunners from Quincy.
For future reference, especially for you only live once purposes, since it is several of the mole rat / radscorpion areas are within build areas you can unlock without having to come anywhere near them wouldn't the safest way to take care of them be to build several strategically placed turrets, trigger the enemies, then run screaming like a small girl to the protection of the turrets and do any fighting you have to there? p.s. why not just build the experiments on bits of floor connected to the power plant and use the vault tec conduit on a nearby wall to power them? you can even pick up already built sections of wall & floor to build out to where you want.
Always take Martyr's gear even if you already have a piece. You never know when you might find something you really really want that goes where your current piece of martyr's gear is. If you have a backup piece, you can switch the pieces around to get the best effects. This happened to you earlier in the series and if you had taken the second bit of martyr's gear you found, you would have been able to get rid of a bit of bolstering gear (which isn't that great).
45:15 Imagaine knowing Fallout this well, playing a high luck build and still talking about how at level 80+ it's hard to get your damage output up. All while still not having even taken the first rank of Mysterious Stranger, let alone maxing it out.
At the time, I hadn't played RDR in a while so unfortunately it slipped my mind. I got way more enjoyment out of RDR than Fallout 4 anyways, and I don't play Overwatch; it was just that Overwatch was a bit more present at mind at the time.
One pops up by University Point (the Pharmacy), and the other pops up in the middle of the intersection of that Mall, Hospital, and School in the south
jon gets "ambushed" so often it makes me genuinely believe he's playing with the sounds off... misses every damned audio queue that he's about to be attacked
Penetrator can be a very nice perk, allowing you to hit the weakspots of enemies no matter the direction the enemy is facing. Could also consider (when out of damage boosting stuff) putting into charisma and getting the perks to make enemies fight for you, giving you some extra meatshields as well as taking one out of the fight.
Since you can build in those areas, you could do the uranium mines using turret creep. Build a turret or two, and keep moving them forward to help cover you while you dig out the uranium. At the very least, their fire will alert you to hostiles.
@many A True Nerd, first shortcut, I highly recommend going into that parking garage if you have never been. The entrance has a bunch of arrows pointing at the door. there is some fun stuff in there.
The Vertibird debris model certainly does have collision. On my first playthrough of Fallout 4, I had one fall on me and kill me while I was looting a Knight who'd been shot out of it.
My favourite way of dealing with the raiders is to clear out the Quincy ruins, get on top of the highway and shoot the reaiders and the super mutants in the factory. They start searching for me and find each other.
5 ranks of Strong Back and 3 ranks of moving target plus two sprinters legs will make your "maximum weight capacity" a mere suggestion. (Even on survival)
@@Chris-jw8vm That's the end of a quest, it's not random. A quest that never was finished. It was supposed to be that you either help him get clean or give him more jet. If you gave him jet he'd die and you could recruit his sister to a settlement. The quest is broken, but you can get far enough that he dies.
If you want increased damage, Perception and Agility 10 perks, Concentrated Fire and Gun Fu perks eventually lead to increases in damage and Gun Fu also leads to guaranteed critical hits from the 3rd or 4th target and beyond in VATS
I turned the power cycle into a torture machine. It pumped Clem full of drugs so he was compelled to pedal. Then I set up a pitching machine such that it fired at the power cycle when someone was pedaling. So every time Clem goes to get his drug fix, he is pummeled by random junk.
@ The jet thing: Fertilizer is fairly cheaply available as shipments from various merchants in some settlements, like Graygarden, Finch Farm (that's the one with the shishkebab quest, right?) and Abernathy Farm. You can get stupid amounts of money in the game really early with that.
Do you think if Jon ate too many skittles of a certain colour, and had a dietary issue due to it, he would have ManyABlueTurd? Sorry no idea where that came from: just a dumb thing that made me laugh.
The fastest way to beat the vault dlc is to completely skip it by only choosing the dialogue options to the right (the "mean/bad" choices) and passing a speech check that kicks the overseer out. She leaves and give you schematics for all the settler machines and the quest "fails", but don't think you get to edit them how you want and you can't get the unique vault suit.
would there be an argument for setting up defended 'waystations' early on in a survival run through the the vault 88 underground complex for travel and saving and such as it seems faster to travel that way and there's quite a few entrances
you actually dont need to do any of them, its an -in vault timer, so if you spend the time scrapping and building in the center room, it will eventually move on...
Not sure if you've found it yet or not, but in Vault 88 where the massive water purifier is, I believe there are walls in there that can be broken down (if I'm remembering correctly). There should be more to explore in the vault, but I need to check. Edit: Yeah, to the upper left if you are facing the purifier, that wall can be broken down, and I think you missed a small section at in the East sector.
Jon if you just kill the Overseer she will drop a note with all the different experiments and you dont have do do any quests for her. If you want to do it really quickly that is.
It would be cool if Martyr's gear did stack. For example: Having one piece of the gear would activate slow-time at 20% health, two pieces at 30%, three pieces at 35% and four at 40%. Any higher and it would be way over-powered.
Here's a question - If you kill a legendary ghoul in the same room as a glowing one that can resurrect it, and you loot the gear before it is resurrected, does it spawn another bit of legendary gear?
Jon, did you ever pick up the "Hunting in the Wastes" magazine from Sunshine Tidings? If not, that may be why you aren't getting as much meat from mirelurk queens.
You say there isn't any ways to increase damage, but you still have perks like concentrated fire and mysterious stranger which increases damage directly. maxed nerd raged and endurance is a great combo for dps too. Then you can level up chemist and start using jet which indirectly increases your damage. You can also still find even better weapons than the ones you have.
I finally caught up to this series so I have a couple of things to say: The Slightly Pistol should be used for building criticals, shooting mannequins, and absolutely nothing else. If you spend a critical while using a lucky laser pistol when you are this high level, that critical is wasted. Also, please start prioritizing fusion cores. You constantly talk about how few you have but you never pick them up, I would like to think you have at least a little bit of extremely useful junk you can drop whenever you come across one.
Yes as BOS he should had kill the abomination right off the bat, that is also the fastest way to complete the DLC, kinda in the vain of killing Joshua right off the bat in Honest Hearts
The only idea I have for getting some extra power is invest in Mysterious Stranger, being you have such high luck it might be worth it.... Other than that, I have no idea on how you could squeeze more power out of the build short of starting to meddle with stuff with mods
Dont feel too bad for Mishka, even if she has her own doghouse, she wont use it. None of the wolves or mutant hounds you buy from Erickson will use it. Only the dogs!
Jon there are three endings to vault 88. last time you got middle ending were you did some good things some bad things. by doing everything she doesn't want you to do well get you the good ending.
If you really want to go through the Vault 88 DLC asap, just say no to Barstow, she'll walk out. Can't remember if you can still set the parameters of the experiments though, but i do seem to recall being able to build them after that.

Jon, you have to make use of Gun Fu much more. Usually you target one enemy, then go out auf vats and move on to the next one. Make use of all your Action points
Should have taken the Martyr's chest, just for the option to put it in another slot, because of the amount of options you get for the arm you've already got it on.
"Screw you and screw you and keep screwing you and I'm happy about the screwing." - Jon 2017 Part 69.
I think Jon has uranium fever, and it's gone and got him down.
Don't overlook Radscorpion Eggs. Radscorpion Egg Omelettes are free Addictol without the negative effects, feeds you, and is a not too shabby healing item for only 0.1 weight.
I never really looked at the eggs, I assumed he didn't take them because they were too heavy. Huge oversight on Jon's part.
says he feels bad for mishka doesnt spend some of his thousands and thousands of material to build her a dog house of her own
Killed her daddy
Well her daddy was an abomination so...
Therefore she must also be an abomination.
Kryptnyt Ad Victoriam?
hail an furor?
"Marvelous, I'm glad about the screwing!"
Oh, Jon.
1:48 5 years later but I still just want to point out that Dogmeat is low key one of the real stars of this series. I'm loving his journey.
Jon you probably think you get 10 meat from the queen because when you cook the meat you get two steaks per meat, leaving you with 10 steaks
I've just realised how bloody long this series has been going on for, 69 episodes is crazy. Also obligatory sex joke.
Propastypete because it's Fallout 4. While it may not be as spectacular as NV and 3, it gives you enough to be happy with.
Husky Hammer I do like that about Fallout 4, it feels a lot easier to jump in and play. As much as New Vegas is my second favourite game ever, it's a bit harder to have a quick session. I feel as if I need to really settle down for a while to make progress.

If there were bows in Fallout then there could be a kneecapper Bow.
insanegames I see what you did there
www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/8990/? here you go.
insanegames I used to be a vault survivor like you, then I took an arrow to the knee
Mishka needs her own doghouse & food bowl :D
I second that
i mean jon you could get mysterious stranger
Jon spent the entire episode in creation mode, being ambushed by enemies...and never once threw down a turret.
Jon,
Sniper giving 25% head shot as well as McCready's companion perk gives 45% head shot hit chance. Which basically gives long range 50/50 hit chance no matter what. Which can be fun.
Or you could snipe without vats and have close to %100 chance to hit if you're accurate
He should do a no vats survival run but I doubt he will. Alpha strike vats crital build is boring and to easy.
I can't think of anything worse than a FO4 run without VATS
I never use vats at all
"Postal service out of commission" I think the courier would disagree:)
Jon, Will you ever do an offshoot episode where you rank the legendary effects, would be pretty interesting to watch
Fastest way to "speed run" the Vault-Tec DLC is to kill Barstow right after you clear the last debris pile separating you from her. She has the schematics on her corpse. you just miss out on the ghoul hunters vault suit.
Always love this series. Inspired me to start my own survival series. Keep it up. Great video as always.
I dunno Jon, Neverending Handmade Rifle doesn't sound that bad all things considered.
I got to the toy factory in the late game, and it was hell in there. The mutants were fighting the Brotherhood, some synths just came out of nowhere and to top it all up, the noise attracted several Gunners from Quincy.
Yes ! The south of the map exploration. I have been shouting this since episode 40 orso. Thanks for making my evening jon !
When Jon finds the widow from mass effect hiding in fallout 4, "massive sniper with slow time"
i love codsworth looking hench. dont know why it makes me smile

22:10 Yeah, I remember getting a Deadeye Western Revolver; called it something after McCree.
Andrew King >not calling it John Marston

Jon tries to speed through Vault 88: almost gets killed twice.
It's funny how that happens to someone who's given a non-stop ad-libbed running commentary, don't you think? 🤔
Penetrator can be a very nice perk, allowing you to hit the weakspots of enemies no matter the direction the enemy is facing.

Vault 88 is sorta like the Labyrinth then. Cover long distances, in a short amount of time

Thanks for the video!
My favourite way of dealing with the raiders is to clear out the Quincy ruins, get on top of the highway and shoot the reaiders and the super mutants in the factory. They start searching for me and find each other.
Neverending Handmade is _really, really good_ ... when ammo doesn't weigh anything and you've specc'd into commando.
Ross James in survival ammo weights lots, and 762 is heavy n expensive. never ending is best on a shotgun or shotguny weapon (plasma or laser).
Yeah, thus, "When ammo doesn't weigh anything". Bleeding or explosive 10mm is still probably strictly better regardless.
i found a never ending western revolver. made me very very happy.
5 ranks of Strong Back and 3 ranks of moving target plus two sprinters legs will make your "maximum weight capacity" a mere suggestion. (Even on survival)
Speaking of jet being a good way to make money. If you sell it to Bobby in Vault 81 he will give you 75 caps each for them. It's repeatable.
Apparently he randomly can die from it though.
@@Chris-jw8vm That's the end of a quest, it's not random. A quest that never was finished. It was supposed to be that you either help him get clean or give him more jet. Awesome this day keeps getting better and better a video form john and samurai Jack is coming back too.

Invest in shipments for Hangman's alley
Do you think if Jon ate too many skittles of a certain colour, and had a dietary issue due to it, he would have ManyABlueTurd? Sorry no idea where that came from: just a dumb thing that made me laugh.
GET OUT
That made me laugh more than it probably should have...
oh dear...
im both angery and satisfied
How dare you, sir.
jon... you cant just "scrap" radioactive barrels, the waste has to go somewhere.
It does. Jon puts it in a box next to the food and water where it can't hurt anyone.

you can also just shoot her and grab the schematics from the corpse
I might start getting STR up for Strong Back.
This is why you carry a space suit at all times.
Another great episode, Jon! Your Survival series had been really useful in my own tackling of the Commonwealth.
And I just finished watching your Bacon Vault 88 run again...
Jon, I'm sure someone else has told you this: but mirelurk queens yield 5 meat which convert into 10 steaks after cooking.
I died at 19:34
I think "speed running" would explain the state of a lot or even most vaults in Fallout.
The Mirelurk Queens give you 5 meat but each uncooked meat equates to 2 cooked meat
Grylls has finally become The Flash.
if you want to do more damage, put your strength up and invest in heavy gunner
1:36 They PREFER to be called "The Pharmaceutical Industry", Jon.

Jon you NEED the penetrator perk for the YOLO run. Shooting through walls is going to be invaluable.
when i did vault 88 in survival mode i was already enemies with the BOS.. dodging 5 man BOS teams was fun.
not expecting some sort of horrible behind a barricade? why do you think they made the barricade in the first place?

see what I did there
Jon, did you ever pick up the "Hunting in the Wastes" magazine from Sunshine Tidings? If not, that may be why you aren't getting as much meat from mirelurk queens.

I wanna see a Kill Everything of this so badly
Whipped Cream, yeah right Mods...
Jon plays on XB1 or PS4, i dont recall.
Cory Coryson He plays fallout on pc
He's played pretty much everything aside from console exclusives on PC ever since he built ManyATruePC. The only reason he used to record from console so much was because his old PC was a potato. Also, Fallout 4 has mod support on consoles.
Forgetting about Fallout 3, are we?
jon the level 10 perception perks last rank is really amazing go for that
Broke two toes today this video has helped somewhat also insert part number joke here.
Its probably already been mentioned mate but you should get chemist rank one to craft antibiotics
If Vertibirds crash into the ground, then explode, they can flipping OHK you
Give Mishka her own dog house, you monster.
