You may be right about the Germans. I go to the Ace Cafe in London most Sunday mornings after a ride. Quite a few nationalities visit to have their photo taken with their bikes. A couple of months ago a German couple started talking to us (like to practice their English?) and they kept saying how friendly everyone was in England (they hadn't visited Wales, Scotland or Ni). If they think the English were friendly they'd be blown away by the rest of the UK! 😀
I'm glad that they also felt the same, and wasn't me being miserable!👍🤣
Shaun, Shaun, Shaun......it wasn't a full English breakfast. You had a Tattie Scone on that plate. It was a full SCOTTISH. Why no black pudding? We loved hearing you talking about how friendly people are here. That's why we moved to Scotland four years ago. My son moved here with his wife too. More bang for your bucks, fresh air, big skies, fantastic scenery and wide open spaces. Best thing we ever did.
Yes this breakfast thing is getting me into trouble! I told them to keep the black pudding and Haggis, absolutely disgusting!🤢🤢🤣🤣
@@thelikeablerider8800 😆 I agree with Haggis 🤢 However, my son has got me liking black pudding. I prefer the vegetarian option of both. We have a fantastic local Butcher that has created them and you can hardly tell the difference. Yes, I'm a heathen.

Another great episode Shaun, it's lovely to see how you enjoyed being back in the old country. Love a single track too, living on the edge of the Peak District we have plenty of that. Have to say I've always enjoyed riding in Germany, as a monoglot Brit I've usually found them pretty friendly - albeit in touristy areas. Granted not in Germany but did have an Austrian garage guy speak very loudly to me in Germany in the same way we do with "foreigners", made me smile 😂
Once you get chatting it's fine, bit in places like petrol stations, supermarkets etc. No one says anything. Its the little things!

TLR, I was actually taught that in high school when I took a German language class. My teacher warned us that if we ever visit Germany, just know they are very " private " people and do not like to be bothered unnecessarily. Lol.

Another brilliant video, well done again. Scotland has so much on offer when it comes to scenery and fantastic biking roads. I was laughing at you trying to say some of the names of places. That road from Lochinver is one of the best up there along with the Braemar road through Cairngorm, Kyle-Skoo👍
Ace episode-brings back memories of doing that area myself. The great weather continued! 🙌🏼 I like the story about the woman in the petrol station. I suppose I take it for granted here but many a time when in shops and supermarkets, I end up chatting to the person serving me. Maybe UK is not so bad when you think about it ...

Me and a mate did a trip round Scotland 2 years ago, stayed in out of town Premier Inns and payed at most £42 per night for a shared room, total of £137 each for 6 nights.

Just come back from our 10th year touring Scotland, let’s hope you got the road to Scourie , cause if that’s not the best in the Uk I’ll eat my own.

Hi Shaun loving the series, how do you find the XR comfort wise on long trips. I have considered this bike for some time but the seat feels really hard to me ? Look forward to next episode thanks 👍
The seat is an issue on the XR, it's quite heavily sculptured which makes it hard to move around on as you sit in it, which promotes a very neutral sitting position. I've had mine reupholstered which has made it far better, but it's still not perfect.

I had a 4 day motorcycle trip to the Scottish boarders at the end of May and also dropped lucky with great weather the entire trip . Thanks to your previous sw motech reviews I bought the day pack tank bag, great bit of kit
