Enjoyed that, thanks. I am lucky enough to live in the Wicklow mountains. It was interesting to see some of my regular routes from a third party perspective. Looking forward to the next episode.
When we got back from Ireland on the 2nd tour, the first thing I did was sell my low chasiss xr gen 1 , I literally thought the roads were going to break my back .... I changed for a another bike, it is beautiful but my God ... hidden bumps in the road...
Hi, just to let you know that toll you paid €2.20 in Dublin is FREE for motorcyclists. Stay in the left lane and keep left of the barrier. I think there is a notice but always free at that toll and M50 toll also free to bikes. Enjoy your trip in Ireland.
Lovely video Shaun. The Wicklow mountains are a favourite spot for our motorcycle group (based in Dublin). There are so many different routes you can take and the scenery changes with each. Pity your video didn't capture the spectacular waterfall as you rode down into Laragh or the view back from the hill road towards Glenmalure but you were busy watching the road and sheep! To be fair, most of those roads are built on bog and soft ground so the surface is prone to bumps and hollows and it's best to just take it slow and give yourself time to take in the scenery. The R759 to Lough Tay is another stunning road. Looking forward to watching all the episodes. (Love the Triumph - had the previous version which was a great bike. Possibly better than my current 1250 GSA....???)
Great video, you're brave pushing on a bit on that mountain road, some of them bumps and dips could castrate you😆 Great country here for bikes, takes a while to really get to know the best roads where the tourists don't go. That looked damned good Guinness, 'a pint of plain is your only man' as they say in old Dublin.
Enjoyed the video, but my old Honda wouldn't be very nice to ride on that road if I'm honest! (Althought it's probably best not to take speed bumps at 50mph 🤣 Looking at that pint of Guiness I doubt you managed to 'Stick' on just the one! Very atmospheric music, but I kind of miss The Wildflowers. 🤣
Haha Nora Batty last of the summer wine. Sometimes rain mode gives u full power but gentle throttle. Ideal. Why one would want a snatchy throttle unless your racing the nuts off is beyond me. Oh do ü use a filter on yr vids? Silvery? Think I prefer it natural once in a while. Any chance? Send me to blazes if you wish. Loving the series 🏆🏆
A snatchy throttle map is less than ideal with all those humps and bumps in the road. I really should utilise the custom mode, haven't really bothered to give that a look yet. Is not a filter, I colour graded it that way. Sometimes, I get board of the standard gopro look, so went for a more cinematic vibe.
Ah! I know that feeling🤣 You can give it the beans on the Tiger, and it's still just as much fun as the XR, It's in no way a step down in that department.
@chrisowens3781 I did parts of it, but some of it was slightly more inland. I wanted to ride a complete loop of Ireland but didn't want to ride the coastline the whole time. Unfortunately I couldn't ride everything that appealed, so I'll have to go back👍😜
It's a must, although if I'm honest, I enjoyed Scotland more! It's just so vast, the views and scenic routes are never-ending. Ireland is just as stunning but much smaller, and I seemed to push through it much quicker.
@@thelikeablerider8800 yes I did Scotland in 2022 amazing place there’s a photo opportunity round every corner. Watched that tour of yours as usual fantastic. Thanks for your time. Safe riding pal
It's a great addition! Only negative I have with it is the audible beep, it's pretty annoying! You can switch it off, but you have to do that everytime you start the bike. Would be great if it would save your preference so you didn't have to do that. Will be taking it off in a few days, not for that reason, but to try something new👍😜
Special place the Wicklows, broke down there touring in 2002 and the locals were amazing, new chain and sprockets on my Kwacker and free breakfast 85 punts, long before the Euro bumped up the cost of everything in Ireland. Certainly not a country for sports bikes🤣
Nothing worse than getting hit with a toll road off the ferry, especially when that one is actually free for bikes 😬 you'll see the sign to the left as you approach for bikes and cycles, lane to the left bypasses the barrier
The sports bike riders have to ride like they are on a horse, butt off the seat. You need to make sure you haven't skipped leg day at the gym before tackling it.
If that was the east link toll, just outside Dublin port, there is a lane on the left that is free for motorcycles. Next time
I noticed that on the way back.....plonker!🤣
Nice trip nice music thanks for sharing.R115 noted😊.

What an amazing place to live, you lucky bugger!👍😎

I can't imagine riding that road on the XR, it would have flung me off at the first bump!

It really was good, and challenging road surface made it even more enjoyable! Fear not I still clocked all the amazing scenery👍😜
I live not far from there and that is a well biked road, i call them speed jumps, when you know where they are and hit them just right. Safe trip!!
Much fun to be had on that road, luckily for me there wasn't much traffic👍😜
Watching you bounce around on the 115, it looked like they must have paved over every rock and hole with no attempt to level any of it out 😆!
Was definitely a challenge🤣
Only getting round to watching this episode now. Nicely done, Shaun. Ive never seen you bounce around as much on a bike before 🤣🤣 👍
Was definitely one of the more challenging road surfaces Mark, but a lot of fun at the same time. Hope you enjoyed Wales, which is just as good👍😜
Great video Shaun, that triumph looks to be doing a top job for you 👏
Loving the bike Jack, should have made the jump to an adventure bike, a few bikes ago!
Awesome video my friend! Wish we had beautiful countrysides like that around me in the U.S. Ride safe my friend🙏
I'm glad you enjoyed it, thanks very much for your positive feedback👍😎

I enjoyed the challenge that road bunged at me, a great stretch of tarmac!
Thanks for the enjoyable content 😁Keep safe 👍
You're more than welcome👍😜
R115, looks like a great introduction to Ireland. Beanage, gaff, wazzed…. And a JackJones T, you’ve settled back into UK life quickly lol
Still a brit at heart, I'm only german on paper!👍😜
It's character building 😆 Last time I was in Ireland they nicked my car... still love the country 🙂
I'd been warned about that, so I stayed away from the cities!
Thanks for the enjoyable video

Definitely adventure bike territory that road, can't imagine enjoying that on anything less!
Are you able to share a link to your route please buddy?

0:55. Roundabout ahead!!
Snuck up on me that one🤣
Looks a great ride Shaun. My mum lives over that way, it’s on the top of my list. How’s it going on the 21” front.. cheers pal.
It's a great place to ride! You don't really notice the 21 front, handles and changes directly lovely.
@@thelikeablerider8800 I I’m considering it as my next bike. 👍🏻
@@benkelly2190 what are you riding now?

Thanks

Stayed there once during early covid semi lockdown. Not sure if there are still otters in the river beside the hotel ?
Unfortunately I didn't get to see them😩
How is the blind spot detection going? I hope it drys up a bit for you, that Guinness looked smooth

Roads look great pity about the weather,
Well at least you never Shat in the washing basket 😮
That would have been a one way ticket out the door!🤣🤣

depends what roads you take like anywhere, I have both, the 'adventure' bike for the mountain roads, sports bike for the fast stuff😄
Couldn't think of a better place to break down, and you also got fed and watered!🤣

It would be nice to see where you are staying as well 👍
I tried to include more of that, but sometimes I feel a right plonker, walking about the hotel filming everything.
😂 I can understand that. 👍🥂
And for your next trick, lets see you do the R115 on an S1000XR lol
Bugger that! That bike would have thrown in the ditch on the first corner!
Yes Shaun. The laundry basket has never been the same since.!!!
Please tell me you didn't keep it!🤣🤣
Can you tilt up your camera a bit🤪 it's focused mostly on your panels and your face
Nice part of the World in and around the Wicklow mountains.
You’ve just got to keep an eye out for RED flags dotted about.
( but that’s another story)
It really was an amazing day's ride, lovely place to be👍😎

Definitely a tad more challenging, but what a stretch of road🤘😎
