The WP bags stand up to the British weather? Soft bags for me next time and as I’m a big SW fan they are my preferred option. Done a lot of those roads in better weather👍

Those piles of gravel by the road are the council's automatic gravel dispensers. They're set to distribute a measured amount of gravel onto the road when it rains. They can also be used manually by trained council workers during dry weather with the flick of a shovel. Of course these piles of gravel are secondary to the roads primary gravel dispenser of tar and chippings that all roads are made from these days, where excess chippings are never swept away when it's originally laid and the tars adhesive quality is scientifically formulated to give a consistent release of the chippings over the lifetime of the road, which is generally 12 months.

Another cracking video, though you did miss out on one of the best rides from the Boat of Garten to Tomintoul to Braemar and down to Perth, definitely the best ride through the Cairngorms past the ski resorts and some of the best scenery in Scotland, good excuse for a return trip, all the best 👍
Would have like to have done it, but it was more important to me to spend some time with the family. Next time👍😜
The road from Glenshee to Braemar is amazing. If its clear you can see far enough ahead to use all of it.
How good are those footpegs on the commute?
Adjustable pegs are always good for a fine tuned position👍

Another Fantastic video Shaun, you make it look so easy with your video editing, music and set up, as a new UA-camr I have the most admiration for all the hard work you put into these great videos. Brilliant roads in Scotland, I couldn't get over the views when I rode that way in June this year, and I was lucky with the weather so made it even more special. You looked like you really enjoyed yourself, other than getting off the bike 😂😂well done and ride safe 🏍👍👍

Great vid as always Shaun. The hedgerow in the UK is a pain, expecially when compared to Germany. As you say, you can see all the way around the corner and several more.
Cheers Mike! Definitely took some pace out for that reason while riding in the UK. You're putting a lot of trust in the oncoming traffic if you give it the beans in the UK.
Good stuff, some serious scenery there. I suspect the residents of Kenmore would hang you up by the Trossachs if they knew you had called their town English! You missed a treat on the way to Pitlochry on the A9. Instead you could have run through the Cairngorms NP, which is not a nature reserve, it is a collection of some of the finest motorcycling roads in Scotland. Still, next time. Great video though, vicarious Scotland is better than no Scotland at all, thank you.

The XR went after this tour!🤣 Just too uncomfortable on long tours for me, and it made me not want to ride it, shame!
@@thelikeablerider8800 interesting . The 900XR gets a lot of complaints about the hard seat and lack of adjustable front suspension . I’ve just ordered a new one and getting custom seat and Custom suspension the GS are all too tall for me

This one was weird. Watching you go through places we regularly visit. Aberfeldy, Kenmore, Loch Tay, Killin and Lochearnhead. The road you took to Aberfoyle looked pretty good (not sure the excursion along the pavement was a wise move, people looked surprised). Shame you were tight for time as there were some great places you could have stopped for a coffee, Kenmore or at The Falls of Dochart Inn at Killin (decent toilets too). We really enjoyed this one.

Cracking video. Me and the missus had to laugh when you got off the XR at the end. The S1000xr is brutal on long runs, I noticed you also have the aftermarket seat any difference compared to the standard seat?
It's a real struggle on this bike on longer trips! I had a custom seat done, it's better but the seating position is still very neutral, which I don't think you can really get away from.
