I purchased Headrush gigboard on clearance for 399 new yesterday. It was an impulse buy but I figured i could use for the effects thru my vibrolux. I love build quality and screen as it's so easier to navigate compared to HX stomp which I got rid of. So far I'm a little disappointed with gigboard as I'm not getting good amp sounds thru DAW and using my Gibson studio tribute. I'm glad I found your channel and I will follow your tips and give this another chance. I also worry that if I bought on clearance this headrush unit would be phased out with no available updates later. Great job with channel. It is the best and most informative I have ever seen for headrush. Thx
As far as I know these products aren't going anywhere but there are plenty of units on the market that never get updates and still work just fine. There are plenty of amps and fx to perform and record with.
An frfr 108 or 112 HR powered speaker is best for in room use. If u go frfr full range flat response, go into global eq and roll of everything above 6k and below 100 Hz. This is where electric guitar sits in a normal guitar only amp speaker.

Dive on in, the water is fine. Headrush is a blast to use and the tones are pretty sweet.

@@DoctorMcFarlandStudios I tried an mx5 with a PRS which I also own a PRS and a headrush frfr 12. I was In a store so not the best comfort. I actually struggled to figure out how to use it, I spent thirty mins looking for how to build a new rig but I couldn't find it so I altered a preset. It's probably user error but it sounded a bit rattly and thin, I couldn't get much overdrive from a jcm 800 with a TS in front, I tried turning up the gain and it just seemed to get very high and trebly, would have loved to start with a full size board and spend some time with it, but found the helix was much easier to figure out.

In the last year Ive owned a Helix, Fractal AX8, Quad Cortex and Kemper. Learning about different units helps to sharpen my skills and to dial in tones on different units. This day and age all the units sound great and can be used to play live or record in the studio with amazing results.
Does anyone ever actually use “hiss” on the tape delay?
I might have made it if I had the MX5 as a kid in 1982 vs the Stage SS amp w Arion Metal Master pedal I had to rig w a Jensen Triaxle car speaker to make the distortion sound tighter like Megadeth.

So I've neglected the use of mine by not using it. Last update I have is the 2.3. Can I just update to 2.5 but if I do will I get the amp models and pedals from the 2.4 update? Or should I update multiple time to get each of the updates benefits?
You can update straight to 2.5 no problem. 2.6 is in beta with even more great stuff.

Off axis means the mic is 45 degrees off the speaker.
