Clean out the pick up tube beneath the valve and the rubber hoses lastly clean the manifold and intake valves

My diaphragm failed on my 1mzfe and I found the leak with a smoke machine made for finding leaks made by auto line cuz the tiniest puncture will mess it up

More likely your EGR has carbon build up, easy to clean. All you have to do is just locate it, remove it and clean it. Also the EGR valve has a tube, make sure it’s not clogged with carbon build up (pretty common on old cars) you can find UA-cam videos on how to clean an EGR valve. Once cleaned, make sure to clear the Check engine light on your scanner.

No, I changed out EGR valve chainsaw everything cleared everything and still check. Engine light is on. I sold the car but I’ve been in contact with the lady and she said the light came back on so I’m super bummed out to be something super stupid small at all his point
