11:05 This truly reached me to my core. The principal thing about gaming is the fun you get, the friends you make, the personal challenges you complete in game or the irl challenges the games helps you go through. I've been playing Destiny since D1 Alpha up until the very end of it and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that if somehow I could live all of it again I would do it all again. The game changed my life and helped me really appreciate every details in games I've ever played in my life. 10/10 video. P.S. I also think Ghaul is the most badass in D2
One HUNDRED percent. I started with D1 Beta and I totally agree. I have shit on this game a lot more than I'd care to admit, but I think that's a pretty common theme between those of those that have played for so long. There's a reason that meme "I hate Destiny, it's my favorite game" exists lmao. When I think about how many times the game was close to truly dying, I'm just happy it has turned out the way it has. It could have been cut short multiple times in it's lifetime, so I'm just happy I was able to "waste" a ton of time playing a game I fell in love with.
7:50 curiously in my 1300 hours of D2 I crossed only one person in the crucible that was trash talking me when I was learning, JUST ONE! That's very impressive for an online game, almost impossible I would say. That being said, it's always great to remind ourselves and the rest to keep being respectful, loving and nurturing of this community.
It's been refreshing watching your experience going through the game for the first time. I do love this game. It is the only game, other than Halo, that i have spent as much time on as i have. I am a 50 year old casual gamer and it's been a blast. met a ton of great ppl on here and I have met a few not so great. I love the community other than the gamers that feel the need to text you on the side and tell you how bad you are. To your point earlier in the video, at my age I could care less. but, I know there are some that would really be crushed to read/hear the comments made to them directly. I do believe it is a minority for sure. I hope you keep playing and you enjoy it! 100% agree, foresaken and red war should be part of the game.
Thank you for this! I was playing space marine 2 the other day and jumped into the pvp to try it out. There were some very harsh words being thrown around because of my poor performance. I thought immediately, what if this happened to some young kid. Just needed to mention it. Love that you also have found great experiences with this game and the community. 🫡🙏🏻
Oh wow cool! I just turned 50 years old this last Sept lol. Do you want to join up sometime? I play on PS5. I have 100+ hours now in D2. Love this game even though sometimes I get frustrated by Bungie lol
@@dpatriot4130yup as a NES days gamer it's funny always being the oldest in a group playing Destiny. I really enjoyed the dungeons in this game so far
54 🫡 Been playing Destiny since D1 Beta. Took a break from D2 after they sunset Foresaken, came back for WQ. I’ve got about 8K hrs on both games combined. One thing I’ve never understood is people asking why you enjoy this „trash“ game…this goes for all games not just D1/2. people just have different tastes and for me, although I can see the monetisation problems and the bugs etc, it doesn’t really matter. Destiny just scratches that itch that other games can’t. Warframe came close but I’ve only got time for 1 Grindy game. I never spend any cash in the store and I wait for discounts before getting any Dungeons. So it’s just the major expansions and the occasional season pass if the content/loot looks interesting that I’ll buy. The shooting is top notch. The environments are incredible. A fun and varied pool of Exotic weapons and Armour. Literally Hundreds of Legendary weapons and Armour sets to earn. And plenty of lovely Drip without spending cash if you’re patient. The subclasses are all unique and the build crafting is a whole lot of fun…I would say Warframe is slightly more involving but it’s pretty close imo. Anyway….blah blah. Lol. Glad you’re having fun. It’s the only important thing and yeah, be nice to people 😊
D, you've mentioned a couple times that you and your buddy didn't do well in the shattered throne, or that you took a long time. first of all, no. you guys did awesome, and you took as much time as you needed to. imo, one of the most enjoyable things for me, in destiny, is figuring out the mechanics of raids and dungeons, and your sherpa was perfect. take your time, enjoy the puzzles, the devs knocked it out of the park time and again with all of that. don't worry about the speedrun times... you'll get there if you want to!
Just to touch on your first big point. I started playing Destiny back in D1, carried over onto PC for the beta and launch of D2 7 years ago so I kinda lost my friend group from console. 6 months into the launch of D2 I had a group of gamers again, some of them don't necessarily play D2 anymore but we're all still great friends and it helped me build my community. Same thing with Forsaken launch, our friend group grew and grew and now there's probably 20 of us that all play all sorts of games together, and it all started with destiny.
Nice video. Glad to hear you are enjoying it so far. D2 is still my daily game. Jealous that you get to experience so much for the first time. D2 has the best feeling gun play of any game I’ve played imo.
Very glad you’re having fun! Your perspective is invaluable. It’s easy to forget how spoiled for choice those of us who have played so long have become. I guess I missed those PvP vids. Must see.
You really should watch the seasons, starting with the ones that came after Forsaken. I would do the DLCs in order than watch the seasons until you are caught up to the Final shape. The seasons tell alot of the story and lore that leads into the next DLC and the new seasons and ect. You might want to watch some of the D1 stuff as well. Also, Eva will be back for the holidays....Hmmmm cookiessss....
when you get to the Witch Queen.. amazing campaign with a villain that makes Gaul look like an uppity child 😉 her dialogue & story is bewildering good. the voice actor.. she is such a talent. i go back & play bits of it regularly. great to see ya enjoying the game. even greater to see ya get in with a good bunch of folks. love to see it 🥰 Good Hunting, Guardian 🤗 p.s i have over 10K hours in D2.. don't ask lol
i will say as a D1 and D2 Vet, seeing new players is very refreshing and nice to see you enjoy the game. reminds me of when i first played it when it came out. love the vids
Well made points my friend. I do wanna say that no matter the situation, everyone is a worth while guardian. But just somthing i want to point out( especially since you were talking about exotics). Ever exotic engrem (sorry cant spell at the moment) is different untill you get all the one you can get from the vanilla collection(non-dlc). So i bet youll be exited for each one.
Also another thing. You can "dodge" on your sparrow by pushing down your thumbsticks.(if your playing in PC. I have no idea. Check your controls if you want to see all your "hidden" inputs.
Speaking out the eververse store. While, yes it is a store you can spend money for items. But you can also grind to get stuff for free with a currency called bright dust. But beware. All of the good stuff are in the thousands.
I'm enjoying following your D2 journey. Looking forward to hearing about your first raid. Im sure you'd get the full spectrum of suggested first raid and none would be wrong. My 2 cents would be Vault of Glass. Its still my favorite and the exotic from VoG is cool but mostly because VoG is the first raid ever released in D1. A couple other random notes. You can still experience a very small taste of the Gaul fight in the nightmare hunts on the moon. The Inverted Spire strike on Nessus was the first strike in the D2 beta. Its a little "broken" right now but i think its getting updated soon. START THAT CLAN!😁
It's honestly a damn shame that there isn't more people such as yourself that take the approach of hey let's not grief or berate others because at the end of the day it's just a game.....if you haven't touched beyond light, witch queen, lightfall and the final shape I can maybe say you could well pass 100 hours if you really want to play everything that it has to offer....keep up the great content 👍🏻
Haven’t touched any story yet 😳 Just having fun, hopefully people can get some perspective if they don’t have that viewpoint and take a step back to realize it’s a game. Just enjoy playing those games you love
Loving these vids brother. I originally played this game 4 years ago as a solo player and only played a few months because of reasons you listed. This time a buddy of mine convinced me to come back and added me to his active clan. Destiny 2 is the most rewarding game I’ve ever played with a fireteam. When you go into that endgame content with likeminded players, this game can’t be beat to me. I’m a pretty shy person by nature and I deal with social anxiety but if you can push through just know this game really unlocks at that point.
Great video, as always, and im glad to see that you're having fun with the game. I really appreciate what you said about the social aspect of it, and that gaming should be a fun experience, so we should be uplifting others, not talking smack about them. I do wanna ask, has anyone told you about the ingame lfg called fireteam finder? You could use it to find groups for raids and dungeons instead of stuff like discord. Probably something you should use when you're more comfortable with the game, but it's a great option to have, especially for higher level stuff like expert haunted sectors, where it isn't mechanicaly difficult so you don't need to communicate too much.
As someone who has played Destiny since the D1 beta, and still plays every week, I've always felt the community is strong. Unlike some other MMOs, most people you run into aren't toxic. Sure, those people exist, but in general people are helpful and generally chill. I've done plenty of LFG raids, and there have been some jerks along the way but overall my experiences have been very positive. If you're stuck, people will help you. Had an experience just the other day doing the Act I Revenant story where I was looking for one of those 'enigmatic objects' for the field work, and jumping around not finding it, and some random guy just shot up at me (to get my attention), then turned and shot at where the object was. He saw I wasn't finding it, and just took 10 seconds to help me out. That kind of thing happens frequently in D2, and it makes me feel like the community is pretty healthy. At least, towards each other (towards Bungie is a separate matter)
Raids are the epitome of "End Game" content. Start with Vault of Glass and Crota's End to get into them. The environments are so much bigger and the rewards are so much more ...rewarding! They take a couple hours, but you'll be happy in the end
The social aspect is a big takeaway! Being involved with a clan opens so many doors to endgame. I have been involved with my clan for well over ten years and it’s been wonderful! We have a PvP night where we just hang out in chat and do stoopid things in Crucible (ie. Using way off meta weapons 🤣). The big joke among Destiny fans is that fashion is the REAL endgame 🤣🤣. Getting that dope looking armor and picking the right shader…chefs kiss! You could go deep down the rabbit hole about vaulted content, and I get the emotions surrounding that, but for someone who played through the content when it came out…I really don’t miss it. I, personally, have never been one to replay story content unless there is a story need to. I know this will sound weird, but I play how my character would actually experience the story, so if they lived through it once, why go back through it? Don’t feel too bad about the dungeon, that is endgame for a reason. You guys did a hell of a job clearing that in an hour or so. Speaking as someone who can’t do jumping puzzles, dungeons and raids can take a while. 🤣🤣 To be honest, your experiences are what most people have, and that’s not a bad thing. I am currently sitting at 3,823 hours in my Destiny career and I’m planning on going till it ends! You’ll be surprised how the time adds up as things get dangled in your face and you get the “gotta have it” bug. Best of luck Guardian…see you out there! 👍🏻😁
I appreciate that bit of wisdom at 6:39. I try to remind myself that all the time. You never really know who is on the other side of that gamer tag. I also agree with what you said about the gunplay mechanics. Those of us that have been playing for awhile have been saying that for years too. I personally think it feels better than COD. It definitely does compared to the latest COD releases. I'd love to see Bungie take a shot at a COD style arcade shooter. Basically a dumbed down version of crucible where it's 100% about gunfights and not ability spam.
From the first d2 video you posted i knew you were going to love the game! I'm glad to see a newlight fall in love with the game i have over 2k hours into!
It's great to hear that you've had a good experience, I've been playing since destiny 1 year 1 almost 10 years ago, me and my friends joke about how bad certain aspects of the game is but in the end we always come together every week to run dungeons and raids and I'm glad a new player like you can still get into the game and enjoy what you're experiencing
I think it's awesome that you didn't play the first Pale Heart mission. The fact that it is tired to the guardian progress is pretty bad for the new players who are into the story, but Bungie has had new player experience problems for a very long time.
The only lasting negative experience I've had with this game is in the crucible (about 1/2 of my playtime, ~1,700 in crucible alone and a 1.5 character kd as a solo queuer). Would genuinely recommend any new player to stay far, far away from it; that's how bad my experience has been with it (recently deleted almost the entirety of my pvp weapons from how bad it's felt to play lately.. which was a lot, to say the least). Edit: As someone who played Red War, the story was great for it (played vanilla launch to Warmind, quit and came back in Season of the Lost). Not so much the gameplay.
@@exxy9931 I’ve jumped into crucible a few times. First match or two is fun then the lobbies turn into much higher skilled players so I get wiped lol. I’m never sure what weapons to use in general. Most seem ineffective (I’m sure it’s skill reasons) 1700 is a lot of hours so I appreciate the comment. What would you say us the main reason why you would recommend someone new to stay away? Thanks again!
Btw if nobody has told you already, please please please install the DIM browser extension. This game is unbearable management wise in endgame without DIM. Right now 700 vault space may feel like a lot but in 2-3 months you’ll be begging for more space. Take my advice now, start using DIM to tag your loot as it comes in whether it’s keep, infuse or junk and manage your inventory as it happens.
I’d love to have a PvP tournament where we use weapons that aren’t just the meta. I think it would make the tournament so much fun as people show off the different styles that they have.
@@Bluebid21 just keep every random gun you find from dungeons, pvp etc. You can get a decent variety from the pinnacle legacy guns at the exotic kiosk by the vaults in the tower 👍
Beyond the pve stuff i really enjoyed the pvp (stopped playing cause i just got burnt out after 2k hours lol) anyway the best places to look for good pvp weapons in my experience is shaxx/crucible, dares of eternity, and some raids. Exotic armor is pretty subjective for what class and playstyle you have but i really liked mask of bakris, knucklehead radar, and Gemini jester on hunter. Peacekeepers, acdo feedback fence, and hallow fire heart on titan. And lastly transversive steps, rain of fire, eye of another world. I had a very aggressive long-mid range pick style with snipers along with up close smg clean ups so that’s why I chose those specific exotic armors but if you play differently there’s definitely better exotics out there.
But just too add the two weapons I used were unending tempest as my kinetic/stasis slot, mercurial overreach as my sniper that I’d swap out with elsies rifle from the onslaught game mode, and then just whatever heavy weapon I felt like but since I wasn’t using an exotic in my other slots I used thunderlord
hi i like watching new people trying out destiny i myself have over 5000 hours maybe 7 i lost count , destiny is awesome one tip i would give new ppl is buy dlc one by one lol if u buy them all at once it turns into a mess 😌 i think u would of liked the past season where crow and his sister when into the pale heart that was so cool anyways hope u keep playing destiny and ill maybe see u in the crucible one day 🙂✌️
I love destiny too. I started playing destiny one back when it first came out and what 10 years later still playing usually I just pop on for an hour here and there a few games pop back off. The clan thing doesn’t really work for me. I’ve joined several and they don’t really play that much. the game mechanics and the shooting and the PVP is just awesome. I’ll probably play it until they cut the servers off. but yeah, the players on destiny are really very nice. I played other games where people are hateful and stuff, although teabagging bugs me a little bit. lol
ask any vet and theyll say the fashion is the end game really hahaha (not all of us ,but alot ) 🤣🤣🤣 love that your having a great time so far .. your dungeon run was super fun to watch btw👌👌
Very very well presented you’re beautiful man Dpatriot. I’m loving how much people like yourself are enjoying the game. Oh watching that dungeon run was a blast.
It’s set up to invite only just in case someone randomly jumps in lol feel free to send me an invite. If I don’t respond, then I’m most likely recording something 😂
Simply being kind goes along way to making an impact. Being patient, kind, and understanding. Well, that combination in my opinion, can shape others and how they view the world. 🫡💪🙏🏻
@@dpatriot4130 I get what you’re saying. I’ve tried other games but nothing is more satisfying than being part of a community. Also keeping all the weapons and accolades
i find that d2 is very hostile to new players but hit me up man i have a group that is willing to play with you and help with builds and gear farming been playing since d1 release
@dpatriot4130 the ability spam and lack of special ammo and changes the lack of the player base is also a driving factor, most people have the opposite opinion of me where they want less special ammo but I feel like that's what makes the game fun. Being able to have builds and an arsenal and use it to the fullest of it's ability is what makes destiny, destiny. At the end of the game it's not a competitive game it's a game about space magic.
the community is crap because you have to go other places to talk to other about the game no world chat and now they have gotten people so use to not using destiny 2 to talk and meet people to play with the fireteam finder is a little to late.

I try helping new lights all the time, it feels good to help🫡💪
Amazing! Thanks for sharing this
Raids are the epitome of "End Game" content. Start with Vault of Glass and Crota's End to get into them. The environments are so much bigger and the rewards are so much more ...rewarding! They take a couple hours, but you'll be happy in the end
Can’t wait!
Thank you for reminding people that not everyone that plays the game are like themselves, sometimes you're fighting a kid or a grandpa, ya never know!
To be honest, your experiences are what most people have, and that’s not a bad thing. I am currently sitting at 3,823 hours in my Destiny career and I’m planning on going till it ends! You’ll be surprised how the time adds up as things get dangled in your face and you get the “gotta have it” bug. Best of luck Guardian…see you out there! 👍🏻😁
Outstanding comment!
I’m having so much fun
I think it's awesome that you didn't play the first Pale Heart mission. The fact that it is tired to the guardian progress is pretty bad for the new players who are into the story, but Bungie has had new player experience problems for a very long time.
Glad your enjoying your journey Guardian 👍 audio level seems a bit low on this one
Good catch. Definitely had a setting off.
Now you should make a video about that and warframe and the over all new player experience of both games
That would be a longggg video lol maybe someday
Im glad u like this game bro! New sub here. I hope we get to see u doing raids!
Thank you and definitely will!
Looking forward to seeing you go through the witch queen campaign, it’s the best they have done in my opinion.
I’m sure this will be coming quickly 🫡
What an Awesome review gg’s. Guardian …Been great watchin
Congratulations on the new kid coming! Just out of curiosity, what’s your full time job?
Thank you! Of course - construction (design and build) - I’m a director of project Ops
Most seem ineffective (I’m sure it’s skill reasons)
1700 is a lot of hours so I appreciate the comment.
Great call out!
I’d love to have a PvP tournament where we use weapons that aren’t just the meta. I think it would make the tournament so much fun as people show off the different styles that they have.
I do that with the homies, though we randomize the guns through dim and some more rules to turn it into an rng gun game type thing
@Shavaaa dam. I wish I had enough weapon variety to do this.
@@Bluebid21 just keep every random gun you find from dungeons, pvp etc. You can get a decent variety from the pinnacle legacy guns at the exotic kiosk by the vaults in the tower 👍
@@Shavaaa I do. But I only get ARs and hand guns... that just my luck...
@@Bluebid21 dont worray too muh about it, guns come and go, plenty to find in strikes, dungeons, raids and at the vendors.
Really great perspective here, very insightful!
hi i like watching new people trying out destiny i myself have over 5000 hours maybe 7 i lost count , destiny is awesome one tip i would give new ppl is buy dlc one by one lol if u buy them all at once it turns into a mess 😌 i think u would of liked the past season where crow and his sister when into the pale heart that was so cool anyways hope u keep playing destiny and ill maybe see u in the crucible one day 🙂✌️
Great stuff here!

@@dpatriot4130 Thank you!
I played other games where people are hateful and stuff, although teabagging bugs me a little bit. lol
All of this is fantastic….Elden ring comes to mind for TB’ing lol
ask any vet and theyll say the fashion is the end game really hahaha (not all of us ,but alot ) 🤣🤣🤣 love that your having a great time so far .. your dungeon run was super fun to watch btw👌👌
Thank you 🙏🏻
Very very well presented you’re beautiful man Dpatriot. I’m loving how much people like yourself are enjoying the game. Oh watching that dungeon run was a blast.
Having so much fun playing and connecting with everyone….thank you 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Ive seen you playing and thought about joining you, but i also didnt want to interrupt what ever you were doing.
It’s set up to invite only just in case someone randomly jumps in lol feel free to send me an invite. If I don’t respond, then I’m most likely recording something 😂
Not sure if you are interested or not but, apparently all of Destiny 1 content will be available for $20 soon.
i have the D1 Collection already. This is a fantastic deal!
Id like to make a mark on someones life, but im always either too late to help, or too shy to speak up.
Simply being kind goes along way to making an impact. Being patient, kind, and understanding. Well, that combination in my opinion, can shape others and how they view the world. 🫡💪🙏🏻
Trust me the assholes are out there, but truly most D2 players are nice people.
DPatriot search the lore about the Story of Banshee 44 is very interesting
Will do!
If you haven't been pushed off a cliff or something while AFK or in your menus, are the fireteam you're playing with even your friends? lol.
Hahaha
Great video.
Wish I was you and could do it all again fresh lol
Lol maybe there’s another game that you haven’t played yet?
@@dpatriot4130 I get what you’re saying. I’ve tried other games but nothing is more satisfying than being part of a community. Also keeping all the weapons and accolades
i find that d2 is very hostile to new players but hit me up man i have a group that is willing to play with you and help with builds and gear farming been playing since d1 release
🙏🏻
Speaking as someone with 8k hours you're playing in one of the worst crucible sandboxs ever 😅
Tell me more?
I can't wait for you to do the Christmas event. Baking all the cookies for the Vanguard NPC's, lol. It's my favorite event.
Haha looking forward for it
👍

This dude is in the rookie number of hours played. Get back with me later, i have close to 5k hours in destiny 2
😳🫡
I hate this game so much
😳😳😳😳😳
Thanks for adding me in game (Titch06), congratulations on your D2 journey, hit me up if you require any help in your quests
Will do and thank you!
