I'd like to see more tutorials that actually demonstrate concepts in-game. Like actually show what a hub and spoke layout looks like on a city map and explain it, show how a transit grid layout looks on a city map and explain it. I'm experienced enough with the game already that these "tutorials" don't really offer any new information to me and I'm sure others feel the same way. Also, more tutorials that do not involve mods. Nothing against mods, I do use a few myself, but there's not point in doing tutorials about traffic or transit systems and then saying "by the way I heavily modified the game to make this work". Just address core game mechanics and leave mods to their own tutorials.

I appreciated that a lot of the information presented was concept-level, applicable at various levels of modding. I'd really like to see a similar tutorial series on custom airports. I've watched several Skyliners build custom airports in the game, but the emphasis in most videos is on detailing the airports; a functional-level tutorial would be very helpful. How big does a city need to be to support a given size of airport? How should runways be placed to interact well with the map's air routes? How might smaller cities utilize air strips or regional air traffic? Airports are often a city unto themself, and a full series explaining their core mechanics would be great! And after the FBS project, any of those creators would be a perfect one to present it. Likewise, I would love a series on power and water infrastructure. What powerlines should be allowed to pass over, how much land clearance power plants should be given, the appropriate networks to deliver fuel, what realistic spacing for wind plants looks like, etc.

Same thing could also be said for the New York subway, with 3 different companies originally creating different gauge trains on their routes to prevent competition
Same thng happening to Norway now. They just chopped ut the National rail company NSB to private companies, all competing against other train companies and local city transportation modes.
My city used to have various different bus operators, until in recent years the government started an initiative that controls all major transit systems under a single system, allowing it to use one payment method

You have 2 options: 1) get a better gaming PC (that's expensive) Also to mention that is not worth it if you don't get a good screen/monitor too. 2) get a PS4/5 and that's way more cheaper. That's all, no more options to play the game without lag.
Sadly I have to play on minimum graphics due to my old MacBook, but damn this game looks so amazing when graphics are turned to full! It’s like a whole new game.

One part I'd disagree on regarding the trains is light rail vs regional transport. The German way of doing this isn't bad with the S-Bahn. It acts as a metro/Overground light rail hybrid. The Munich S-Bahn for example connects Munich's 2 main train stations Hauptbahnof and Ostbahnof with the towns of Alto-Munster, Peterhausen, Mammendorf, Geltendorf, Herrschling, Tutzing, Wolfratshausen, Holzkirchen, Kreuzstrasse, Ebersberg and Erding, aswell as several lines running to Munich Airport It's a type of system that would not work for metro in game as it would not have the capacity or speed for the route with all the towns being within 45km of the city center and is more suited for light rail

I`m building such a system in my city because I want to eliminate the subway and concentrate on train-tram-bus triplet for public transport. Thats a cool idea, just keep in mind that some stations in some cities, like stuttgart, for the s-bahn are underground. Also the u-bahn is kind of a mixture of a tram and a metro, although it probably is more like a tram with underground-stations...and tunnels. If you connect the infrastructure well i am certain that this kind of public transportation network will work fine. Oh and there are indeed something like these busses mentioned in this particular tutorial which bring you from, let‘s say downtown to the outer towns or suburbs, these train-like busses.
Hi Artem! That's definitely a cool idea - it works very well in Germany, and well in some places in the USA, too - like San Francisco's BART. Make sure you closely tie your transit capacity to your density of exurbs though - it's easy in game to have popular branch lines that can't move as many people as they need to, and the central city core will already be overwhelmed with trains.
What asset(s) are used to accomplish the train bridge/tunnel seen at 3:07 Also where do you differentiate for using trains vs metro for commuter cities - do they not both accomplish the same goal? Finally, 6 lines feels like a lot to try and use whenever I create a multi-platform station. Is it common to merge some of the lines or do people generally build out to several different commuter hubs? Thanks in advance for any replies
Those are Avanyas concrete blocks on the bottom, the backsides of some billboards above them, and then a fence/wall prop on top. Metros and trains do largely accomplish the same goal, but the higher speeds and capacities of trains makes them better for longer trips than metros. They should definitely work in conjunction though! Merging lines is totally fine - but make sure you're careful about some of the junctions - bad planning can cause backups and even complete traffic jams on your rails. More importantly (to me) would be the not sharing platforms, since that's a backup waiting to happen.
In massive train stations the intercity train stops in only one platform making more traffic. They doesn't go to other platforms!! Any solutions (I connected all platforms to rail network)
If we already have connections between different cities through trains, busses and planes as well as ships, why can't we have a multi-player where you have to manage you're import and export with other players and give cities district pros and cons so that it can be lucrative to trade with those cities. The replayability of the game would skyrocket.

Seriously! I abandoned passenger rail very quickly except for one station for intercity travel. The freight network wound up so expensive I ended up taxing industry at double the rate of other zoning types, and their taxes ONLY cover the rail network. By contrast, my buses and metro break even, and my trams rake in fat profit.

You'll probably like the Metro Overhaul mod too then. Bsquiklehausen already did a video about it on this channel, and what it does is that it basically lets you build surface level and over-road-friendly elevated tracks, with the possibility of convert any of those into quad tracks. You can also make custom multi-level underground stations with it, and all of it (including the tunnels) is rendered so that you can use any first person mod to follow your metro trains.

Tokyo has private rail operators and they compete very well.

I've noticed since the university dlc, the custom bsquik trains aren't rendering correctly. They show up partial and flickering.
